Should I Have Lost On Purpose
So I was on Destiny and I was really bored. I saw my friend playing private matches. I joined we were all having fun then a squeaker joins us. I didn't have a problem with it because Destiny has players of all ages most players are below the teen rating. As we did a rumble match he said you have no skill I am better than you. When he said this he wasn't joking he was dead serious. He wasn't the best player but he wasn't the worst he was in the middle. But from the rumble matches we played I knew I was more skilled. So I told him you think your more skilled he said yes. So in response I said lets 1v1. I know it sounds immature but he got very annoying so I thought this would make him be quiet. During it he never killed me once. He then claimed it was because his guns sucked. He said let me go to the tower. After he got his better guns we played again another one sided match and he got 0 kills. He the claimed it was because he was on his titan. So I let him switch to a warlock. As we were playing the final match because I got bored I though of letting him win. The reason for this is because I didn't want to make him feel like he was a bad player but I knew if I lost he wouldn't let me here the end of it. So we finished and he got two kills. What would you guys do?
Edit: Some people think that my intent was to "show off" my skill. If I truly wanted to I wouldn't talk about beating a child because you know that's not very impressive. I just wanted to see how others would react in my place. Why people thought this I will never know it isn't impressive to beat a ten year old so why would I brag about it. Also I didn't let him kill me those two kills were just normal kills.

1 OdpowiedźI think you made the right decision. Please, no hate. If that kid (he's a kid right?) said when he lost that you were better, or just lucky, he would have proven that he had some maturity. But you said he told you his lost was because of his weapons, characters and I don't remember what. This means he deserved being crushed by you in a 1v1. He/She will learn from his/her mistakes and he will become (possibly) more mature.

I 1v1 a kid once claiming to be a better sniper. I knew from the first round he was no where close so i decided i would give him is fun. Casually making "mistakes" i got the round tied to 4 and 4. I didnt let him win but i would have felt bad going 5 and 0. Not saying what you did was wrong because i dont blame you. Some kids need to be put in place. Its the only way to get better.

I think you did the right thing. Kids like that have the brain size of a peanut and always think theyre better. Yet the moment they come up against a good player they start moaning. If you made him feel bad, well thats what he get for being annoying

Nah, no mercy in the crucible. I've been that kid before minus the bravado. What happened to him was my experience with Halo 2. I routinely thrashed all the LAN parties with my friends. If I finished with a 1.0 K/D on Halo 2 I celebrated. That's how you get better. You lose to a talented player and you learn from it. If anything you did him a favor.
