I remember back in year 1 and year 2 that I would freak out whenever I got an exotic, all my friends also freaked out if they got something good, heck, I even freaked out when I saw those golden exotic bounties.
But that's not there anymore.
You beat an easy campaign, have an exotic sword, no, yknow what you can also have the gjallarhorn, arguably one of the most op weapons on game, for just killing a few enemies and picking up bits of metal that look like wolfs.
It's just not exciting anymore.
The point I'm trying to make is that bungee is devaluing exotics, exotics are meant to be THE best weapons that are so rare that you go balistic whenever you got one, but nowadays it doesn't happen because bungee just hands out exotics, ffs you even get exotics semi regularly from bounties now, so what's the point.
I remember freaking out for 15 minutes when I got my hawkmoon, I remember going balistic over my friend getting a gjallarhorn and being so happy for him.
I remember going insane over any and every exotic I got.
And I miss that.
I want the excitement back.
Tldr stop handing out exotics as if they were tiny boxes of Rasins

I remember year 1 when getting an exotic from RNG was like getting a gold bar for free. Now we have 3oc and exotic chests with a good chance from each one. Just not the same smh (got 4 exotics from wotm chests in 1 run)
-
3 OdpowiedziI agree. However, I had to stop ready mid post. Way too many grammatical errors.
-
5 OdpowiedziI think the black spindle exotic was a good balance. A Very difficult optional mission that made it feel like you really earned an exotic but also a guaranteed drop so that RNG doesn't exclude people.
-
Yes I agree I miss thinking I might never get that exotic from rng or holy $#it I just got this exotic or feeling salty because your friend got one and you didn't but now we have things like 3oC

1 OdpowiedźDevalue? This isn't the damn New York stock exchange lol.

1 OdpowiedźThis is why we need to restart in destiny 2

2 OdpowiedziSo what you're saying is nerf fusion rifles?

Sadly many legendaries outclass exotics even. Honestly the only ones that feel exotic due to the road to get it are raid exotics, original swords, sleeper, and black spindle. Even then I dont feel like it was as crazy as getting your hawkmoon/ghorn to drop in Y1
-
The only Exotic weapons I was excited for was The Last Word. I was going on for a couple of minutes due to it being one of the weapons I've wanted for a while. And because a personal friend has it. Zen Meteor, many should be happy, but I wasn't.
-
Agreed get rid or xur and 3oC
-
5 OdpowiedziThey are just virtual items. No need to build a bond over them lol
-
1 OdpowiedźThey hand them out like candy now, sure...but they're also far bastardized versions of their former glory.
-
9 OdpowiedziExotics won't be exotic again, unless they are banned from PvP. I know people hate seeing that, and think it's just PvE players "hating" on PvP. But the truth is no Fallen, Hive, Vex or Cabal ever complained about Thorn being op. Separate PvE and PvP weapons. Then make exotics matter again.
-
1 OdpowiedźScarcity isn't what gives an exotic it's value. Functionality is what gives it value. Case and point: the vex mythoclast and necrochasm. Both are fairly rare to find. With the necro being more common, but due to their lack of an infusible version, the only one that gets much of any use would probably be the necrochasm since it is at least fairly reliable in normal crucible.
-
They made the gally easy so people wouldn't exclude players from raids and such. 3oc is to blame for making exotics not very exciting anymore.
-
I think that the issue with exotics is that they aren't actually the best items in the game. Aside from each having a pretty decent perk, the majority of them are more hassle than they're worth when compared to similar legendary weapons. I'd honestly rather use a legendary for most situations.

5 OdpowiedziWhat is the point of the knucklehead? Just equip the legendary artifact.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika StyroHaRPO: 11/2/2016 5:32:01 PMExotics were much better in year 1...especially armor...look at roi exotic armor and compare them to helm of St 14 or hopf...not even close...also, the participation trophy generation so we're all winners...

Beating vog and getting my gjallarhorn. Those were the days
*sheds a tear*
4 OdpowiedziGhorn was most Op weapon in Y1. It was nerfed remember. Now it's just a launcher that takes up an exotic slot which can be best filled by Raze or Dark or even Sleeper. If you don't get excited anymore for when a exotic drops then don't use 3oC and hope Rngesus gifts you a exotic by chance randomly. Don't be a Debbie downer, Nancy. Exotics don't drop nearly as often as you'd like to believe and I'm sure plenty of us still get happy and excited when one drops.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Neeyhoy Menoy: 11/2/2016 5:28:29 PMI'd say it was a combination of things that caused bungie to nerf some exotics to oblivion. Biggest one being crucible. Getting an extremely rare op exotic like pre-nerfed vex in Y1 being brought over to pvp broke crucible. imo items unlocked in pve shouldn't be brought over to pvp and likewise. Keep the two seperate with their own reward based unlock system. This way it gives incentive to play longer to unlock items through each game type instead praying to rnjesus for that god roll matador. Ofcourse make exotics feel with exotic with their exotic perk(not crucible breaking though), but also make them incredibly difficult to unlock in both pve and pvp.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika GalaxySpider: 11/2/2016 5:18:37 PMObviously you didn't read any of Bungies tuning updates in the past. Exotics were never meant to be the ultimate answer to any weapon of that specific type/game mode. Also, people hated the fact more than ever that many of them relied on RNG. People wanted more exotic quests and they got them. And to further eliminate RNG, 3oC were introduced.
-
We tried this in year one and the community is mostly too immature to have powerful exotics. When RNG ruled and exotics were powerful all people did was whine non-stop.
