I remember back in year 1 and year 2 that I would freak out whenever I got an exotic, all my friends also freaked out if they got something good, heck, I even freaked out when I saw those golden exotic bounties.
But that's not there anymore.
You beat an easy campaign, have an exotic sword, no, yknow what you can also have the gjallarhorn, arguably one of the most op weapons on game, for just killing a few enemies and picking up bits of metal that look like wolfs.
It's just not exciting anymore.
The point I'm trying to make is that bungee is devaluing exotics, exotics are meant to be THE best weapons that are so rare that you go balistic whenever you got one, but nowadays it doesn't happen because bungee just hands out exotics, ffs you even get exotics semi regularly from bounties now, so what's the point.
I remember freaking out for 15 minutes when I got my hawkmoon, I remember going balistic over my friend getting a gjallarhorn and being so happy for him.
I remember going insane over any and every exotic I got.
And I miss that.
I want the excitement back.
Tldr stop handing out exotics as if they were tiny boxes of Rasins

23 OdpowiedziActually You guys overvalued these exotics to the point of excluding others. So you got your toys nerfed. Hopefully you learned your lesson for next time

I remember getting 3 gjallarhorns from crucible matches, they should put exotics back in end of game rewards.
-
I just posted something similar to this. Yeah I remember so many times being happy someone finally got there gally or their vex or necro. Now the game has no meaning to it. I just hit 380 and I'm done I have attempted the raid once and I don't care if I do it. That would have never happened yr1

7 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Zero the Remnant: 11/3/2016 3:18:26 AMExotics were NEVER meant to be the best of the best. They were meant to be Gameplay altering weapons & armor. The point of them was to shake up gameplay with unique perks that no other weapon or armor piece offered. Bad game design was also the source of most of the Year 1 exclusion. Aka: "Must have Gjallarhorn." None of that was good for the game either. It created a divided community, created a wall that was PURE RNG to get past. Skill had nothing to do with owning a Gjallarhorn. I was one of the first players in year 1 to own a Icebreaker. Back when it was a "myth". I didn't earn it. I shot a Dreg and got lucky. Want to raid? Hope RNG will give you ___ so your fellow players will even look at you. It was horrible. It was hard enough to form a raid. Requiring exotics made it even harder. I will conceed that some bosses made exotics feel required. But that was bad game design. Skolas for example proved to Bungie that they needed to re-evaluate their boss fights. The whole...tears of joy aspect. Yeah, people cried because now they could run content. There are still Year 1 players who never got a Gjallarhorn. They have months of playtime logged. I STILL have not seen some Exotics. I have never seen a Dreg's Promise, and until last month I never had seen a Thunderlord (I have never seen Xur sell it either.). You can look at my playtime too. It is all RNG. Exotics got brought back in line in Year 2. Legendaries began to feel legendary. Hence why Exotics have fallen to where they belong... As Unique weapons with Unique perks that shake up gameplay dramstically. Hopefully in Destiny 2 they will change Exotics or remove them.

There was no feeling like getting an exotic back in year one. We need stuff like that again. 3 of coins ruined that. Hopefully in destiny 2, I can get that feeling again.
-
They need to bring in more exotics into the game cuz bringing back yr1 stuff isn't exciting no more cuz we've already earned it.
-
One of my mates got gjallarhorn from a legendary engram he found on patrol in about week 3, I got it farming the gorgon chest, no excitement there. I actually prefer a bit of context to how you get it, and it doesn't devalue them because you can't get any lower value than an rng drop. What devalues them is bungie making useless exotics just for the sake of adding some more in.

I don't even use any Exotic gear anymore. The only time I equip an Exotic is at Aksis.

I remember getting pissed at a buddy getting Universal Remote from Phogoth in year one, and I remember doing Vault of Glass and telling my friend: "I swear if anyone gets a Last Word from this chest I am leaving" and sure enough my buddy Twisted got a Last Word and I left he fireteam and party and didn't talk to him for a week. I was so salty lol but now I could care less who gets an exotic because the feeling is gone now, I remember also when TTK was released and we got the green engrams that turned into exotics, I got Hawkmoon from it on Xbox and I literally was singing because I was so happy to get it. Sadly Hawkmoon was needed but I still loved it. Too bad Jade Rabbit isn't on Xbox yet, guess PS4 is superior

One of the dumbest arguments ever from a noob with 3700 grimoire and no high light level characters at all. Go away child.

Problem with powerful loot in a game that has PvE and PvP elements that are shared is that they have the same solution for two different problems. That's like putting out two ham sandwiches for a vegan and the fatty at macdonalds. The tubbo is like "yo tf is this lettuce shit, -blam!- outta here" and mf venasuar is sittin there bein like "tf is this ham shit, i thought we was cool"

How about Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 coming to PS4 though?

Back when this game was really fun.. they are slowly killing it.. they need to really go back to year one .. it was a much better time

gotta nerf em all

As I've said to other people I still remember xur selling something and then that's most of what I would see in the crucible as people tested it out.
-
Excellent post, 100% agree. It took me until the end of HoW (VoG exotic chest) to get Gally, and it felt like Christmas. Unfortunately soon after Xur sold it, and then boom... Gally nerf and TTK. I wish I could've bought it from Xur when he first sold it in the first month the game was out. Now there is nothing special about it. Now I find myself infusing most of the exotics I get to raise my light.
-
4 OdpowiedziCouldn't agree more! 1000% yes! I hate 3oC. I infused all the exotics I got because they drop like candy. Back in the day, reset day was filled with enthusiastic anxiety to get home from work, meet up with the clan and do nightfall, get vault of glass exotic chest checkpoints, or whichever raid was in. Then quickly do heroics to get your 27 guaranteed strange coins so when Friday rolled around, you prayed Xûr had that one exotic piece of loot you desperately wanted. Now, everything feels like a damn participation award. Everything is just too easy and things that should be "exotic" are often worse than legendaries. I would dip out of raids quickly because my clanmates were doing a nightfall and gave me spot at the end boss in hopes of dropping Hawkmoon! God I loved that weapon! Now, Hawkmoon is a disgraceful shadow of its former self with the nerf to its range... and don't get me started on Bungie's bullshit story about ghost bullets. No other gun archetype has ghost bullets so wtf do hand cannons have it. The damn eyasluna is better than Hawkmoon! Smh. But I still love me some destiny, but damnit. They took out the good and replaced it with the bad.

1 OdpowiedźAll of the "exotic handouts" and quests to get them is ruining the game for me. Half of the fun and excitement of the game forever was the random rewards, it's what kept us grinding and motivated. Now you can just work on getting nearly everything which is boring and takes nearly all the fun out of running the content consistently with your friends. I understand why bungie would want to put more controls in players hands to aquire weapons and armor etc that is exotic so you don't rely so heavily on random drops. However, that was literally half or more of the reason for playing consistently every week. I can speak to this fully because I was one of those players who NEVER got gjallerhorn no matter how much content I played and it was really frustrating at times, but it kept me playing and excited to do raids, nightfalls, etc. with people for the chance of getting a drop. I had to finally buy mine from Xur before it got nerfed. I think kthey should put like just a couple of weapon quests or whatever, but everything else should be loot drops like it always was. I don't know about you guys, just my feelings about it. Have you all been feeling less excited now with new DLCs because of this?
-
Excitement ended with the beginning of Y2 :'/ 3oc should be a random drop and give you a 50% chance on getting an exotic from it.
