Stop devaluing exotics
I remember back in year 1 and year 2 that I would freak out whenever I got an exotic, all my friends also freaked out if they got something good, heck, I even freaked out when I saw those golden exotic bounties.
But that's not there anymore.
You beat an easy campaign, have an exotic sword, no, yknow what you can also have the gjallarhorn, arguably one of the most op weapons on game, for just killing a few enemies and picking up bits of metal that look like wolfs.
It's just not exciting anymore.
The point I'm trying to make is that bungee is devaluing exotics, exotics are meant to be THE best weapons that are so rare that you go balistic whenever you got one, but nowadays it doesn't happen because bungee just hands out exotics, ffs you even get exotics semi regularly from bounties now, so what's the point.
I remember freaking out for 15 minutes when I got my hawkmoon, I remember going balistic over my friend getting a gjallarhorn and being so happy for him.
I remember going insane over any and every exotic I got.
And I miss that.
I want the excitement back.
Tldr stop handing out exotics as if they were tiny boxes of Rasins

11 Odpowiedzi1. The Gally is not one of the most OP weapons in the game anymore. So many things outclass it. Stop. 2. I'm sorry exotics aren't "exiting" anymore. I thought people wanted them to stay... 3. It is common knowledge that it's actually harder to obtain non-quest exotics in this version of the game than it has been previously. 4. If you're sole problem is the exotics tied to quests that "anyone can get," then I direct you to Year 1 exotic bounties...

You have to remember that the game has been out for more than 2 years and that most people have the majority of the exotic weapons. Not to mention that rng SUCKED year 1 and everyone complained to hell about it.

Oh, the memories of my excitement and happiness...my first Mythoclast, my first Red Death, finally getting the MIDA, Thorn, Invective... And much more recently, Ophidian Aspect.

As far as Gjallarhorn goes, they wouldn't have been able to bring it back if they didn't make it available to literally everyone, otherwise you would have a repeat of year 1 where you would have a "special" group of players who got it not including people who didn't have it in raids, solar burn nightfalls, etc. The rest of them? Yeah, I agree. The Young Wolf's Howl should have been a legendary, and I honestly don't like the exotic swords being exotic.[spoiler]nb4 someone says my complaint is invalid because I never got them[/spoiler] All in all, I think exotics should have stayed the way they were when they were first talked about in 2013: specific mission/quest rewards. Basically have a story mission with a strike boss level enemy at the end, and there's your exotic mission, tied in with some lore, exactly as they first said it would be.

You want the excitement back op? Tell your fellow forumites to stop demanding that Bungie nerf them to Hell. Mythoclast, Suros, Thorn, TLW, Pocket Infinity, Hawkmoon, Gjallahorn, etc. All direct results of complaints from players.

The problem with exotics is with the exception of a few. None feel great anymore. The dark drinker still feels powerful, but its range makes it situational. The majority of legendary HC's outperform all foyr exotic ones. Some were just plain nerfed to the ground, or land right in the middle of their archetype. I never run an exotic sniper, exotic fusions? Maybe a plan C in crucible, but Vigil or other good legendary ones are better. I could on, but at the end of the day, most of the exotics stats fall short of legendary guns, and their perks more often than not do not make up for it.

All 3 hand cannons were godly, Icebreaker, Vex Mythoclast, Pocket Infinity, Suros Regime were all top tear weapons. Now 5-10 nerfs later thay are garbage compared to what they were. Imagine crusible with all the above weapons in the state when they were meta. It would be so awesome.

2 OdpowiedziWhen an exotic drops it's either infusion fuel or an exotic shard for the 2 or 3 exotics i use. I only get excited over god rolled legendary drops now. They are even harder to come by!

1 OdpowiedźEventually you get all or most of the exotics. Then whenever you get a duplicate it's not going to feel exciting. I have had the game almost a year and have most of the exotics except the raid exotics. The only solution would be if bungie made exotics even more rare in the beginning but then everyone would be even more pissed they couldn't get all the exotics it 2 or 3 years.

They're not "supposed" to be the best but damn near the best. I do agree though. Exotics aren't great anymore. Sure I use G-Horn but who doesn't? Other than that, maybe the MIDA if my heavy needs to be switched to a sword for some odd reason. I'd like to also use my Thorn. But I don't. Why? We all know why...
