This is hands down the simplest thing Bungie could do to improve the game. Remember snipers? They got nerfed accross the whole game because they were too OP in trials. They nerfed ammo capacity. No we have to play strikes/raids with a handful of sniper rounds. Now shotguns are nerfed. Fine. But why does the strength of a weapon in one game mode need to affect the entire game? With the exception of truly epic weapons like Gally, the overwhelming majority of Nerfs happen because some aspect of game play is unbalanced in PvP. However, nerfing like this only makes the entire game UNBALANCED
Imagine you have a two level house, with one thermostat on the first floor. People constantly adjust the temperature, because it is cold downstairs. Well guess what? Hot air rises, and turing up the temp downstairs causes the upstairs to get too hot.
It is the same principle with how Bungie does Nerfs. They don't realize/don't care that their game is a structure (like a house) that has different sections with different needs. I would like to see this change in year 3. I'm betting the new Khvostov exotic will be amazing, probably too OP in crucible. But PLEASE, don't Nerf it in a way that negatively affects auto rifle performance in PvE. Please Bungie, balance the game. Don't let Nerfs inadvertently screw up the whole system.
Like If you want PvP Nerfs In RoI to be kept SEPARATE from PvE.
Edit: I have never had 750 notifications before! Thank you everyone for the overwhelming response on this issue. Even if Bungie is not listening, I'm sure they've noticed. After reading many responses, I can respect the idea that we want our weapons to handle the same accross the game. I hope someone smarter than me finds a solution for this. However, changes to ammo capacity absolutely still prove my point: Nerfs on PvP should be kept SEPARATE from PvE. We should not have to scrounge for sniper ammo in PvE because a few Trials gods are camping with snipers...

I've been saying this for a long, long time. If they can't keep the nerfs separate, then they need to design PvP only loadouts.

1 OdpowiedźWhy is this a problem in the first place? This should have been common sense. Holy crap! Literally half of the community is divided on this!

1 OdpowiedźI'd rather see buffs to guns rather then nerfs. Nerfs just ruin the game in general, PvE or PvP. Just saying calling for nerfs in just PvP is improbable.
-
It'll never happen. If we've learned anything in the last 2 years it's where bungie's priorities and loyalties are. PvP is where their focus is and that's not going to change. With the introduction of private matches and the potential for Esports tournaments like you see in COD, it's just gonna get worse. I hope I'll be proven wrong and if I am I'll purchase RoI or whatever expansion they're on that very same day. But... I won't hold my breath.
-
I wish people would stop crying about PvP already! Screws everything up for those who actually play destiny as a whole and do not just bum crucible.

3 OdpowiedziBuff not Nerf... Blizzard figured this out a while ago, you Buff the weapons/classes that are not being used as frequently. However if Bungo is going to Nerf all the things then I would absolutely like for it to stick to only PvP. Oh and just because; update the old raids... So you know, people have more options and reasons to play Destiny... instead of a single endgame mode..

2 OdpowiedziFyi many of the nerfs and buffs are completely separate from PvE. There are even nerfs for PvP AND THE SAME WEAPON gets BUFFED for PvE WAKE UP .
-
No, memorizing two different sets of the same buffs and nerfs is the dumbest "solution" I have heard of

Thumbs down

Holy crap over 2000 up votes!

1 OdpowiedźWhat happened to just having fun playing video games? Everyone seems to always complain about something in Destiny.

YESSS! I do not want my beloved Thorn to be nerfed just because of those Crucible cry-baby Hunters!
I don't have anything against Hunters

Please don't kill me
Edytowany przez użytkownika Zarahi Sunstrider: 9/19/2016 6:13:15 PMPeople in this game act like they've never played any other online game that nerfs. I use to play WoW and you guys think these nerfs are bad? I mained a Warrior please tell me about your pain.

7 OdpowiedziI don't understand why Bungie can't properly balance PvE and PvP. For example the recent nerf to the mid fire/impact sniper archetype. They had their damage reduced as a whole by 6-ish percent. This was done for PvP reasons, but it hurts players who use these types of weapons in PvE. Why don't they just also make it to where this sniper archetype does more damage against minions of the darkness to offset the damage nerf intended for PvP? Because as of right now they're just plugging one hole and then creating another one, like the Aflac duck.

2 OdpowiedziOf course, but it's too late, pve players have been infected with Crucibabies constant requests for nerfs. Pve sucks arse now due to constant weapon, subclass & ammo nerfs. I can live with the weapon and subclass nerfs, but the ammo shortage is ridiculous. Nothing ruins fluid pve gameplay more than running out of ammo and having to go into menu and pop a synth or look for ammo bricks. The least Bungie could do is use D-pad for heavy and special ammo synths. I would gladly give up a wave and dance emote for this, anything to stay out of menu whilst shooting things. As we all know, new artifacts are coming out with special abilities. I would like to design one now for pve use only. This artifact would give you unlimited primary ammo, triple special and double heavy. This would make the pve experience so much fun, which is why I play. It would make me care less about weapon nerfs and bullet sponge bosses if I didn't have to scrounge for ammo. Also, I am sick of using the Armamentarium all the time on my titans.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Imperial501: 9/19/2016 5:47:06 PMThey've proven they can do it, but they're just lazy. Remember the 100% buff to shotgun damage that only affected PvE? Edit: This weapon tuning update is the one I mentioned.
