This is hands down the simplest thing Bungie could do to improve the game. Remember snipers? They got nerfed accross the whole game because they were too OP in trials. They nerfed ammo capacity. No we have to play strikes/raids with a handful of sniper rounds. Now shotguns are nerfed. Fine. But why does the strength of a weapon in one game mode need to affect the entire game? With the exception of truly epic weapons like Gally, the overwhelming majority of Nerfs happen because some aspect of game play is unbalanced in PvP. However, nerfing like this only makes the entire game UNBALANCED
Imagine you have a two level house, with one thermostat on the first floor. People constantly adjust the temperature, because it is cold downstairs. Well guess what? Hot air rises, and turing up the temp downstairs causes the upstairs to get too hot.
It is the same principle with how Bungie does Nerfs. They don't realize/don't care that their game is a structure (like a house) that has different sections with different needs. I would like to see this change in year 3. I'm betting the new Khvostov exotic will be amazing, probably too OP in crucible. But PLEASE, don't Nerf it in a way that negatively affects auto rifle performance in PvE. Please Bungie, balance the game. Don't let Nerfs inadvertently screw up the whole system.
Like If you want PvP Nerfs In RoI to be kept SEPARATE from PvE.
Edit: I have never had 750 notifications before! Thank you everyone for the overwhelming response on this issue. Even if Bungie is not listening, I'm sure they've noticed. After reading many responses, I can respect the idea that we want our weapons to handle the same accross the game. I hope someone smarter than me finds a solution for this. However, changes to ammo capacity absolutely still prove my point: Nerfs on PvP should be kept SEPARATE from PvE. We should not have to scrounge for sniper ammo in PvE because a few Trials gods are camping with snipers...

Stop riding the hype train and open your eyes!

I think lord shaxx or my vanguard mentor should comment on my PvE gameplay.
-
I wholeheartedly agree.
-
PVE is why this game is fun pvp should be a afterthought.
-
I hate how they only cater to PVP and only take away from PVE. This isn't Call of Duty, they need to change it, take supers away and perks, then those PVPers can stop complaining about balance.

9 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Hagalaz-27: 9/19/2016 6:42:36 PMI think PvP should only allow common/white/perkless weapons/gear at all levels of play. It IS supposed to be a test of skill, and not a "Who's Got the Best Crutch" competition, right? Edit: I've seen some good responses but none of them address the "pure test of skill that comes when everything else is equal" question. I'm not saying that PvP would be fun or not boring or anything else if this were to happen. I'm literally saying that the only way to test skill is to eliminate as many other variables as possible.

I've wanted this sine the beginning. And we know they can do it from the times they've done it before. I hope with them only concentrating on the current gen systems, they might start doing it.
-
weapons for PVP can ONLY be used in PVP and same goes for PVE - keep them separate - great idea!
-
I dont want any nerfs. But I do think weapons should be the same in every activity. Having two versions of every weapon would be shit. I vote no.

Oh my, amen to this. Bungie stop being A$$hats and stop ruining the entire game.
-
Stuff like rate of fire and recoil pattern cannot be different between the two. But different damage numbers is perfectly possible and a nerf or buff in PVP should not equate to a nerf or buff in PVE.

When my Paleocontact JPK-43 is more effective against an AI at a distance then my 1000-Yard Stare. That's just wrong....

I agree the Vex Mythoclast was God in in PvE until they nerfed it because of PvP

I dont see why they cant put perks on all weapons that increase damage to minions of the darkness. Have it always on and not something that you have to select. Then when the stupid PvP nerf come rolling in (we all know they will) they just increase the damage done by the perk to off set it in PvE. They would likely have to create different perks for Primary, Special and heavy so that a huge nerf for one type of hand cannon does accidentally super buff a sniper in PvE which would require some additional development and maintenance. I get that they want to keep things balanced in PvP, but the nerf bat has ruined my PvE experience and something needs to change.
-
I agree my man. I'm mainly a PvE player and the nerfs suck. But hey, it is what it is...for now.Keep this post alive and hopefully a bungie staff member will understand the situation as we the players see it.

I've been saying this for a long, long time. If they can't keep the nerfs separate, then they need to design PvP only loadouts.
