EDIT: The fact that I'm talking about HEROIC strikes should be abundantly clear, given the fact that i make approximaty 500,000 references to SOLAR damage and none to void.
Title.
Want to know why?
Because literally -blam!-ing EVERYTHING does insane amounts of solar burn damage.
Psions? Have fun getting killed in .000004 seconds by the 500 of them that are now "teabagging" your ghost.
Legionaries? I hope you weren't comfortable behind that wall, 'cuz we've got splash damage!
Phalanxes? If you somehow survive the solar artillery, you're just going to get killed by the physics bullshit that still hasn't been fixed despite being present for 2 years.
Centurions? We heard you like splash damage, so we added some more solar splash damage to the already splashy solar damage!
Valus Mau'ual? Hah, cute solar burn you've got there. It would be a shame if this was a big circular room with literally nothing to hide behind...
Valus Tu'aurc? Now comes with 200% more Rockets and 300% more McDickface, free of charge.
But wait, there's more! Call now and we'll add chaff to your order, meaning you'll be under deadly solar assault from all directions, completely unaware of where the -blam!- you're getting shot from!
"Whether we wanted it or not, we-"
Nooooope.

Edit 2: Maybe strikes other than shield brothers won't be so bad.
After spending literally 30 minutes in the Shield Brothers boss room with two incompetent -blam!-s that don't grasp the concept of SOLAR burn, I just left and couldn't be bothered starting a new strike.
I used Celestial Nighthawk and Raze Ligter. I had a solar sidearm (no other legendary solar specials, due to RNG always dropping void gear for me).
My teammates? A striker (he did practically nothing) and a nightstalker (only helpful for the ONE time he used shadowshot, which was on adds in the Tank fight.) NONE of them had a single source of solar damage equipped.
Needless to say, after the umpteenth wipe caused by the 15,000 solar damage Psion Burners they didn't help kill, I gave up on them.
I only threw in that part about the Valus strike intro because it's the one most people will recognize on sight.
Edit 2: Those comparing it to Y1 Arc Burn Omnigul nightfall can stop. For two reasons:
One, that week was easy as shit. There are plenty of safe spots to chill and cheese the boss. Arc Omnigul was my first nightfall, and we only wiped once in the boss room. (Restarting was annoying, but meh.)Plus, Atc primaries were a thing (not that I had any at the time, I didn't raud 'till HoW).
Two, Y1 nightfalls actually gave loot. They were worth the challenge. Heroic strikes don't, and so they aren't. Plain and simple.

2 OdpowiedziIt was pretty easy with Sunsinger solar grenades and Sleeper Simulant. Just dandy.
-
Doesn't seem to matter what strike you do. It seems all strikes are abundantly filled with solar shooting mofos. Last night was super frustrating.
-
Guess you're not very good at countering elemental burns or playing well with others, which sounds like you rely on everyone to do the heavy lifting during strikes (heroic, nightfall or maybe just regular ones). If you have the basic skill to strafe, avoid incoming fire, and effectively use your supers and weapons, these burns can be used to your advantage immensely and effectively. I suggest honing your skills instead of posting topics like this... heroics are more enjoyable with ALL burns on now cause not only can I use it all to my advantage, but it makes it more fun and interesting. Sorry, but I don't feel bad for ya if you think the heroics are too difficult. Everyone I know or play with can solo the hardest night falls (myself included), so I can't sympathize. Sorry.
-
As someone who used to solo nightfalls, beating void burn Phogoth, Void burn Sepiks, Arc Burn Omnigul, and Solar Burn Valus Tu'aurc, it won't be that bad. Remember, Solar Burn goes both ways and the Sleeper Stimulant is a solar weapon. Plus now we have elemental reductions as armor perks.
-
9 OdpowiedziJust use a chest piece that reduced solar burn. Problem solved. What annoys me is that it's fairly obvious that most players in matchmaking don't understand the burns and modifiers. It's not uncommon to match with players who are not using a single solar weapon, or even their solar subclass.

Did Shield bros with my 11 yr old and a random. No wipes. Super fun.
-
Shield Bros is intense this week!! I ran around in circles with two very talented self res warlocks and we got it down after a few wipes.
-
But they're still just strikes tho...
-
😒 They're still insanely easy, as always.
-
I think you're over embellishing, how difficult Cabal strikes are, with solar burn, their pretty easy, like any strike is.
-
But my friends and I melted Valus in a few seconds, don't take my fun away!

Does no one use x element burn defence perks lol...I feel like I've been the only one not being killed instantly due to line rifles these past few weeks with the burns.
-
Jokes on you, these were easy-moderately difficult.
-
What bugs me the most is when you go max lvl and still get shit on in 3 hits. I just find it a joke even for a whanabe rpg like Destiny to literally farm your way to the max lvl and feel no different then 298 or whatever.
-
1 OdpowiedźI've been grinding strikes with friends so I can get more motes and strange coins; I've had zero problems or trouble completing the cabal strikes in the heroic playlist this week. Don't mean to bash ya but I think you or your teammates might need to step your game up cause they aren't difficult at all.
