Following needs to be fixed when Rise of Iron launches. Crucible is now uber-competitive and filled with 335 try-hards using Grasp, MIDA, Doctrine, Eyasluna, etc. No one is experimenting with different loadouts because all the other primaries are so gimped. And casual players have absolutely no chance, outside of cheap supers. It needs to be shaken up and made friendlier. Please. For everyone's sanity.
- Snipers are ridiculously easy to use because nothing pressures them, even at surprisingly close ranges, and body shot damage is very high.
- MIDA feels OP as hell (like Suros, Vex, Thorn before it)
- Auto rifles are still 99.9% useless (Doctrine aside)
- It's nowhere near as easy to hit headshots with primaries (not snipers) as it was in year 1 because of all the weird tweaks to the range stat, etc. I think this hurts casuals the most.
- Hand cannons are too unstable and slow to be fun.
- Titan skating is unbelievably dumb (I main a Titan and 'skating' just isn't what this class is meant to be about; it's meant to be a tank). The solution should have been higher armor to counter high agility of other classes. Other classes can counter Titans too easily through pure evasion.
- CQB is absolutely horrendous. No drama because rangefinder shotgun range ends it so quickly
- Melee hits on someone who is about to strike you with their super frequently do not register.
- Every single match is hyper competitive. That's not enjoyable. It's draining.
I'm not playing any more Crucible until next patch. I can't stand the lack of variety. And I know I'm not the only one. My friends don't even want to play at all any more - and it's bumming out their excitement for Rise of Iron.
The fun has been gradually sucked out of this game since Taken King dropped. Is it just that the try-hards are left still playing? Well, maybe make the crucible a less hostile environment for lapsed players and it wouldn't be so over-competitive. I don't want to sweat my ass off in every match.
I bet it's all been said a thousand times. Monthly balance updates are needed, in my view, with an emphasis on promoting variety and FUN.
/rant
TL:DR - best loadouts and rolls have reached saturation point, and primaries are mostly awful. The crucible is therefore ruined, and someone needs to hit the big reset button.

Wait you talk about titan skating but then mention other classes being able to evade them?
-
6 OdpowiedziThere are some OP primaries but Mida most certainly is NOT one of them. Also, Mida being a scout rifle it takes more skill to use effectively. Plenty of primaries can go head to head and win against Mida so it's not OP at all its simply a good / balanced weapon and fun to use. PVP is competitive by its nature so if you're sick of the "competitiveness" that's more of a personal issue... Maybe try another game that isn't competitive by nature.
-
5 OdpowiedziThere is nothing remotely overpowered about Mida. It'a just user friendly, compliments almost any build, and is all around probably the most versatile weapon in the game. It's just become more and more popular lately. Not to mention it's been nerfed already. My last flawless run this past weekend we came up against this one god who had insane gunskill. We had to pick off his teammates and then rush him at angles with shotguns and Grenades, because none of usnstood a chance in a gunfight with that guy because he was mauling us with MIDA everytime. Rest assured he could have done that with any gun, it had nothing to do with MIDA.

Auto rifles useless? I'm not fantastic at pvp but I've done pretty well whenever I've used my Zarinea-D or especially my Lowdown PXIV
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika OurWildebeest: 8/23/2016 3:13:12 PMI think it is pretty good as it is. I would like a few changes, basically to make primaries more important. - Sniping should require about 50% more time to ADS, should be super inaccurate when not ADS, and you should be knocked out of ADS by any damage (even one point of DOT). - Sliding and shooting (mainly done with shotguns) should not be a thing. Do that and primaries will become more relevant instantly. A 5 or 10 percent blanket primary damage buff might help too.
-
ARs are useless? You obviously haven't used the ARI-45 with high caliber rounds, snallbore, and counterbalance.

8 OdpowiedziPrimaries are underpowered, so people who are want to win----or at least play well----are forced to spam special weapons....or play with only a handful of the faster killing primaries. MIDA is NOT OP. MIDA simply shows you how badly all the game's primaries have been affected by the Year Two nerf campaign. In Year One, MIDA was a middle-of-the-road scout rifle in a game DROWNING in good scout rifles. So much so that most people didn't even consider it to be worth burning up your exotic slot for. It was a NICHE weapon used by people who wanted its agility perks. The fact that it is now one of the Crucible's dominant weapons shows you how far EVERY THING ELSE has fallen, and how underpowered the rest of the game's primaries have become.

7 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika JungleofTaxemes: 8/23/2016 12:01:44 PM>MIDA might be the most powerful weapon in the history of the crucible (I think it is even more powerful - not popular - than Thorn). lol There is absolutely nothing wrong with MIDA. 75% headshot rate to kill in only 0.9s, a bodyshot time of something like 1.5s. If they plink you, DISENGAGE and set up to get the first shot on them. Primaries are mostly awful, yes. Things need to be buffed to be hitting their own TTKs more consistently, and to kill faster in other cases. MIDA is just what a scout should be, all we need is buffs to midrange guns to tweak the effective range of MIDA and TLW a tiny bit. Even if they don't, it's still fine if you don't engage in MIDA range most of the time. >CQB is absolutely horrendous. No drama because rangefinder shotgun range ends it so quickly Rangefinder barely does anything. If you don't have a shotgun.. DON'T GO IN CQC UNLESS THEY HAVE LESS HEALTH THAN YOUR MELEE DAMAGES The game right now is campy. We need MORE guns that are 'good' in their class, like MIDA, more reliable handcannons, buffed pulses, etc.

Wow dude L2P. I'm not good at PvP but I'll never cry over a gun that kills me. Quit online PvP or play pookieman

Well thanks for your opinion

I've messed around with the new monarchy auto rifle + dance machine. Very effective

I'm a casual and here's my opinion on your post.
Not really. Only in certain modes. You're opinion of 'friendlier' is just that. I feel that many people are trying loadouts to simple see what works against the metas.
- Snipers are ridiculously easy to use because nothing pressures them, even at surprisingly close ranges, and body shot damage is very high.
See my long standing thoughts about dealing with this.
- MIDA feels OP as hell (like Suros, Vex, Thorn before it)
Key word 'Feels'. It's actually the most balanced scout which is why it's used so much.
- Auto rifles are still 99.9% useless (Doctrine aside)
IMO that's inaccurate. I slay with my Haakon's. Check my Warlock. Keep in mind that by Bungies design ARs are a close to mid range weapon. They're usefulness fades in the longer distances. I feel that many people get this wrong.
- It's nowhere near as easy to hit headshots with primaries (not snipers) as it was in year 1 because of all the weird tweaks to the range stat, etc. I think this hurts casuals the most.
Not sure where this is coming from. I get headshots all the time with relative ease.
- Hand cannons are too unstable and slow to be fun.
I know people complain about the bloom thing but I don't see it that often. Hand cannons are a precision weapon for their range and are not meant to be a 'Fast' weapon. TLW exotic is an exception but most people wouldn't consider it a precision weapon in that way.
- Titan skating is unbelievably dumb...
I can agree that's its dumb and maybe even an exploit but compared to other things it's really not that much of a game breaker.
- CQB is absolutely horrendous. No drama because rangefinder shotgun range ends it so quickly
This comes across just as a salty biased anti-shotgun statement. This is purely opinion.
- Every single match is hyper competitive. That's not enjoyable. It's draining.
Again opinion. I'd rather have close matches than blowouts. That for me is fun. It's PVP ffs what do you want? By nature it's competitive. TL:DLR You're view of Ruined is an opinion and is in no way shared by other casuals.

7 OdpowiedziI have about a 1.4 KD and a 1.3 W/L for what its worth as a solo player and generally enjoy most PVP shooters and lots of competitive games, but I HATE destiny pvp, HATE it! I loathe iron banner and grind it out every time, I grit my teeth through the dailies, its just terrible. the meta is always so damn small because this game lacks diversity, its ALWAYS 1 gun, maybe two, for months and months before a series of nerfs and buffs change the meta to a different 1-2 weapons Suros TLW Thorn Mida Universal Remote Final round snipers high impact/range shotty that list is two years of destiny PvP! and that's all (there are others but these are the stand outs) and it always feels like every match is full of sweaty try hards and super competitive. its just NOT why I play this game at all and LOATHE when something is connected to it, events, exotics (7 of them I think? maybe more) in all my years of gaming I have never thought a PVP was as trash as Destiny (division is tied for it though) Love the PVE, I play it with a lot of friends and its a good time, but PvP is GARBAGE!
-
7 OdpowiedziYour experience will vastly differ from lower skilled brackets. I'm not much lower than you but already feel differently about PvP. CQB has been pretty much made obsolete in Destiny. It's not really about melee. Some abilities are at range and (ever since HoW) shotguns and snipers (???) pretty much take that away. I agree with snipers though. I main fusions but when I use a sniper, an inexperienced player like me gets some nice clips. I kinda miss them taking a bit more skill. Titan skating? Maybe I don't understand what you mean. Titans are designed to close gaps quickly. They can only move quickly in one direction. Straight. Without blink or evade (twilight is a joke now) there's really no other option unless you're using SC. Even then... Meh for direction changes. Hand cannons. Yes to everything you said. I find it a bit ridiculous that you can't fire them at the rate in which they're able to be fired without dealing with bloom. Having to pace their shots against high RoF anything will usually lose a 1v1 against an aware opponent. Excellent post. Only... Just explain the skating. I'm not understanding. It's always been there.

Totally agree. i would also mention how only certains perks are used more than others RF,HH,CB,RR destinys PVP does not cater to NEW players... its an END GAME activity... yeah the games fun when your playing as a level 2 guardian against MIDA,TLW and MALOK

You'd be surprised at how good hand cannons can be in the right situations

Outside of the famous SBMM, damage referee; the problem is the so called balance of weapons and classes. If they would get rid of the MM plague, and assassinate the damage ref, it would be better. Weapons and classes need to be returned to "out of box" configuration. Doing this will open up the many load outs and variety all want. Then the skill part takes over the game again as it should be. I myself sucked hard at banner when all the weps and classes were true, I got my ass kicked all over the place. But I had fun knowing that( at least banner) was full blown, unadulterated. The elite earned their status, the weak die when up against better players. I progressed now, I'm not great, but I hold my own, usually top of team board regardless who's with me. The MM isn't helping much, the connection issues that are mostly servers, cheaters, and grouping 6 together from all points on earth is a destiny issue. The damage ref eliminates just about every aspect of balance and fair game play by manipulating hit registers, and yes I'll say it, infusing its own lag to tighten up matches. I myself don't mind getting ass kicked, IF it's because the other team is that good. I'm going to get rank 5 regardless, and I have a shot at a drop win or lose. Stop the nerfs, return weps/classes to original, get rid of sbmm and damage ref. And you will see the amazing banner and such again. Try it crackerjack bunch! I dare you!

This is how most games goes for me, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, smooth game, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, Lag, smooth game, Lag..............ETC Yeah not fun and verging on unplayable. My connection wired, good router, Ping 9ms 150Mbps down 10Mbps up.

Edytowany przez użytkownika LittleSkittle39: 8/23/2016 1:37:08 PMJust get rid of uni and mida, and reduce body damage on snipers to a 3 hit kill

2 OdpowiedziIf posts like this weren't made, crucible would never have taken most of the nerfs it has and you'd see much greater variety

2 OdpowiedziEh, snipers are in a perfect spot other than the body shot damage. It's the player-base that makes this amazing game hell to play. Go into Skirmish? Get matched against 3 Thorn/Matadors, go into Rift? Matched against 3 Hawksaws and 3 Grasp of Maloks, all playing passively, oh yeah, an dif you rush them, they're always willing to crouch around a corner with their PC+1-- wouldn't want to ruin their KD! Go into Control? Get matched against 6 Unis all either No Backup Plans. The point is NOBODY plays Crucible for fun anymore, it's all about boosting meaningless stats in a video game.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Horus D. Guffy: 8/23/2016 1:01:48 PMMy thing is, just what you said, there isn't much variety. There are only 3 pulse rifles ppl use right now, 3 scout rifles (not including tlaloc), 3 hand cannons, 3 snipers, and 1 heavy. More ppl use different types of assault rifles, but they are still garbage and only pick ppl off when they are low health. There is literally no variation in this game, when it's iron banner time, everyone not only looks the same, but they play the same. I'm the type of person who likes to have fun and try new guns. I don't see anyone using the byronic hero, but I love that HC, even tho I have luck in the chamber, range finder, and explosive rounds. It's just, some guns just don't make sense in the crucible, and that should never be the case in an fps. All guns should have strengths and weaknesses, but their weaknesses shouldn't completely exclude their viability in a competitive mode. Having special rolls in guns is the dumbest thing ever, imo.
