I am considering getting a PS4, cause zero dawn horizon looks beautiful, and i love the Little Big Planet games. Ill probably get Destiny too, cause im an addict, so theres that.
Anyways, im considering getting a PS4, but i was wondering if you guys who have one could help me out.
The PS4 Neo could potentially be coming out within a few months, and im curious as to whether i should just save my money for that instead because better speeds and graphics, or nah, the current PS4 is good enough
Upsides to new PS4, speed and graphics
Downsides, cost increase and unknown launch date.
Those are the only ups and downs I know of.
If you guys have more info on this, or an opinion, can you please post it in the comments for me to read?
Thanks
Edit: just want to thank everyone who has commented and/or picked one of the two options up. It truely is quite helpful to me
Edit2: everyone saying for me to get a scorpio, you are entirely missing the point. Unless your trying to tell me scorpio can play ps4 games, then the scorpio is just a waste of money to me. I already have an xbone. I dont need another one no matter how powerful it is to me. The point of this post is to decide what i should get in order to play Playstation games....

3 OdpowiedziWhat do you have now? If it is last gen I say upgrade now, if you have a different Current gen just wait till the Neo comes out.
-
1 OdpowiedźIf you are willing to wait, I'd try to wait until Paris Games Week. Sony usually has a press conference, and I'd expect them to officially reveal the PS4 Neo there. That way you can make a fully educated buying decision.
-
Get the neo if and only if the release date isn't too long from now. Don't bother if you don't have a 4k tv or don't plan on getting one.
-
2 OdpowiedziIf you want to spend the extra cash get the neo, no reason to get the standard if you don't mind the cost
-
2 OdpowiedziUnless you want vr. Go with the ps4.
-
1 OdpowiedźIf you have a 4k monitor and you have enough cash for neo go neo, otherwise go normal ps4.
-
1 OdpowiedźIn my honest opinion I'd probably just get the original PS4. The Neo is being made to handle VR more effectively. Sure it might make other games run smoother but that's about it. So unless you are into VR I wouldn't suggest it.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika ThePoshFatKid: 8/4/2016 11:47:12 AMI can't believe the amount of people bringing up the Scorpio when you clearly stated PlayStation games that you like/want. Kinda funny to be honest.

11 OdpowiedziIf you want the most powerful console wait for the Xbox One Scorpio. If you are dead set on getting a PS4 as you prefer their exclusives get the NEO as it has better specs. Alternatively get the Xbox Slim as that is the cheapest bit of tech that can upscale games to 4K and can play and stream Blu-Ray/Netflix in native 4K.

1 OdpowiedźAs far as I know ps neo is just to support vr, but maybe not, I don't think Sony has even officially said anything about ps neo as of now so it could be a while Untill it's released, I'd say get a ps4 now and use the extra money you'd be saving on games
-
Neo, rumored to have 4.2 tflops capable card (amd rx480 -polaris10) Ps4 is somewhere around 1.8 tflops Scorpio prolly gonna be more powerful (6 tflops) and more expensive aswell. Like someone said, would be better to wait until we know more. Digitalfoundry is a good yt channel if ya wanna learn something about gpu/gaming performances.
-
I'd wait till Gamescom on the 18th, because sony have gone quiet about the Neo since Microsoft revealed the Scorpio. They might hold back on the Neo, release a more powerful version next year. We should know after Gamescom.
-
If you're not in a rush, I would at least wait until they officially announce the neo and its features. Games likely won't be 4k for a while (though the rumor is it'll upscale somewhat). The potential features I've heard is it'll do 4k video, be more powerful with more memory, meaning faster load times, and be better suited for vr. But there likely won't be any games on the neo that won't be on ps4. Considering it likely won't hit until next year, id just get a ps4. If you want the neo later, I'm sure there will be deals on ps4 trade ins to upgrade to the neo, so if you got the extra money you could just get a regular one to tide ya over till the neo
-
3 OdpowiedziRight now I'd say get the regular ps4, the reported/rumored specs for the Neo aren't worth what it's probably going to cost. The only real advantage this will have is that it'll play 4K. But if you're not in any hurry wait it out and see what happens, no reason to hurry if all you're looking to get right now is Horizon.

1 OdpowiedźI would say PS4, but I have no idea if the PS4 Neo is real or not. Can someone give me an article link or something?
-
Don't get it solely based on graphics because after a day or two it doesn't look as pretty and looks normal
-
3 OdpowiedziDo you have a 4k capable tv? If not, just get a regular PS4
-
1 OdpowiedźWill the neo display on a regular hd tv???
-
1 OdpowiedźSave your money for the better hardware. It's rumored to launch later this year.
-
4 OdpowiedziI know those rumors said it'd be out this year, but without even a mention at e3 i very much doubt it. I wouldn't expect the new playstation to be out in the next 6 months. If you don't mind waiting, go for the neo. But currently we don't know how long that wait would be.
-
4 OdpowiedziNEO is pretty useless if you don't have 4K, but let's be honest here both Xbox and PlayStation will eventually abandon there base consoles
-
1 OdpowiedźTo my knowledge, the Ps4 Neo is just optimised for 4k TV play, nothing else too important. I havent read up about it though so idk.
-
3 OdpowiedziThe problem is its hard to tell what it looks even going to look like. Sadly we have to guess and speculate after Scorpio launches because Sony is doing the cautious thing and waiting to see what Scorpio does.
