Would you participate and "cleanse your soul" or would you fortify yourself in your home? How would [b]you[/b] Purge?

To me, there's nothing cleansing about actively seeking to harm others. Quite the opposite actually, I consider it to be a stain upon the soul and a stain upon the mind. Though, I do understand that violence can become a necessity at times, be it a poisonous one nonetheless. However, if any nation did actually institute an annual "purge", i'd jump ship to another country as soon as possible. Once a society devolves to the point where only a period of mindless violence and chaos can keep it stable, it may as well be broken.
