Bungie has made it clear they dont want classes having too high of a KD, yet we see that defender is just as low KD wise as hunters were high.

11 OdpowiedziLook I dislike almost everything about Destiny's online community (The forums, Streamers, Youtubers, ect) So I'm very reluctant to post anywhere. I participated in the beta test, and I was so excited to play on day one. Now I've logged however many hours into this game suffered through meta after meta. All with out losing myself to them. I've mained a Defender since I hit level 15 on my Titan that first day. I'll stay on my Defender as long as Bungie will allow me. Nerf or Buff I don't care, it's my class. I'll just keep playing in the most fair way I can. But I personally believe they're in a good place right now. They reward a paced playstyle in the hellish forge that is the Crucible (might be why the K/d is so low on the chart) and really make you work for what you get. And I love that! I probably didn't need to type all this out and very few people will probably care but I needed to get it off my chest. Thank you if you took your time to listen to the ramblings of an almost 3 year old Defender. And make sure you guys pick up the orbs I probably did some cool stuff for those! tl;dr... Defenders are fine where they are please stop.

May 27 - June 1.... The Fun Police were making Defender Titan videos, shattering hopes and dreams while cackling the entire time. XD

4 OdpowiedziThe reason why defender is at the bottom of the crucible toilet is due to the fact that Ward of Dawn isn't a mobile super. Of course if bungie made the bubble a mobile super, where you can shoot out of it but no one can penetrate it, Defender would be the most OP subclass in the crucible. So in conclusion....MAKE WARD OF DAWN MOVE WITH THE DEFENDER!

9 OdpowiedziWanna OP setup? Defender with Universal Remote and No Backup Plans. Buff a defender titan? Therell be no stopping that combo

I think you don't see the big picture friend. That's 1 type of crucible play. Defender is pretty good at nearly everything else

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Macguyver Bond: 6/24/2016 6:38:59 AMStatistically speaking statistics can only report one measure accurately 99% of the time. One measure does not tell a whole picture, and there must be allowances in a not completely controlled environment for false positives and negatives in the results you are looking for/not looking for but may find. When you have an equation that can parse the situational variables like latency, player skill level, offensive stat builds, defensive stat builds, class/subclass specific exotics and how they augment active abilities, weapons that synergize with class/subclass/armour perks and abilities and come up with accurate simulation of those metrics to create a scenario that under set values in one to one comparison gets nearly identical results that can be numerated and catalogued then you'd have a solid basis to use a statistic specific to those patterns to make an argument on utility. I've read some of your other responses to posts from people playing the class regularly who are generally comfortable with the utility and survivability of the subclass, and it appears to be less about balancing the class than about wanting to fundamentally change how it works and the purpose it serves. The scaling of the Bubble defense ought to be brought into line with the recent updates to Voidwalkers, Gunslingers and Strikers' Supers to keep things generally in relative balance to what they've been up to now, or a specific design-standpoint at least ought to be explained why they didn't choose to change that metric in conjunction with the others (if it was not in fact an oversight). A Defender Titan works well with a team because their active abilities are geared more towards survivability (both for themselves and their teammates) than direct damage. That means they're keeping their allies alive in some situations where/when they might not otherwise survive, and those teammates are more likely to get kill confirm. K/D/A is a poor metric but points towards how often a player contributes team damage/is able to confirm a kill versus how frequently they are killed and gives a slightly more useful metric. Of course teams consisting of organized players are more likely to do better than unorganized players because of communication and in good teams like that everyone knows what works better for them individually and as a team. There are also artificial falsities introduced by Bungie themselves by creating reward-based goals for playing specific ways, meaning many players who might not have or care for the familiarity with certain classes may often be playing them purely to meet some requirement before going back to a preferable playstyle (for them). Defenders have had some relative rough/unloved patches but currently with a competitive loadout there are several different ways currently to play them that suit an apparent number of people. That all being said Titans are generally believed to have a weaker neutral game but effective active abilities. Some minor/incidental changes/rearrangements to perk trees may be called for. Definitely not something as earth-shattering as invulnerable bubbles, those kinds of changes lead to power creep, which can ruin a lot more. Lastly, it is generally preferable for people playing class-based games to focus more on the flashier damage dealer classes than healer/support/tank classes. That's why it's easier to find groups when playing a tank or support class, less competition and more demand. Hopefully this post if you read it through can explain differing opinions and how you may want to reconsider utilizing one statistic to argue for large scale changes. It's a complex system and every change has an impact on the whole.

3 OdpowiedziI personally think Ward of Dawn should be revamped. I think we need an actual shield like the VoG relic, where we can cover and buff our allies, shield slam/bash/charge, etc. Make for some interesting gameplay. I've always loved sword and board classes and I would exclusively play defender If this happened

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika the phoenix362: 6/24/2016 1:17:26 PMIt could be, although I'm no dev expert, that bungie believes the indirect nerfs they dished out will be more than enough to give sunbreaker the necessary competitive edge. #BUFFDEFENDERS Edit: Looked at the chart and just realized two of the 3 titan subclasses are at the bottom of the chart and everybody wants the only one that isn't to get nerfed to hell.

They need to remove the spike grenade and replace it with the void walkers magnetic grenade

5 OdpowiedziStats show defender kd is lower. But the tradeoff is what you do for your team and objectives. You can't have both a powerful killer and defensive class in one.

3 OdpowiedziDefenders are just fine, if it were buffed people would cry nerf and bungie would destroy the class. It's fine under the radar as is. Would be cool to see jugg on defender instead of striker though, just sayin.

1 OdpowiedźI personally don't fully agree with this graph as first off it only includes 6v6 playlist. Secondly, and this is my personal opinion so please be civil, I believe that Titan hammers and possibly strikers should be up there with golden gun and bladedancer because their supers are good if used right. I just feel like Titans supers are a bit easier to use and so the people with terrible gun play use these and that's why the KDR is lower. Granted golden gun trip mines were op but that's fixed now. Golden gun gets no armor though so it's easy to stop them really and the time is so short to get all 3 shots off that I personally only get 1 kill usually and if I do get 3 it's because I risked popping it while being surrounded. Blade dancer on the other hand I felt was more of an annoyance than it was op just because you could dodge easy. Also the amount of time it lasted was a bit insane.
