What made Halo so great? Destiny is great, but an M rating would make it so much better. It would give the developers and story writers more creative licence. Levels with darker themes would create a powerful contrast between "the darkness" vs "the light". Correct me if I am wrong.
Edit: Ok, if you think that an "M" rating automatically implies gratuitous sex and violence, please dont speak because you dont know what you are talking about. "M" simply means that a game's creators have an extended range of creative potential when choosing content. It means the game can have a level of psychological maturity otherwise closed off to something trying to fit within a "T" content range. Stop being plebs and assuming that anything "adult" must necessarily be filled with sex and violence.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Ninjadrifter23: 6/25/2016 6:24:51 PMUncharted is T, and it is one of the best games I have ever played. "Darker" doesn't mean better.

Psychological maturity? Damn bro...if you want to be captivated by story lines, turn on the news. If you don't mean sex ,gore and profanity, what is your illustrious vision? Game seems fine to me but then I play this game so I can shoot stuff solo or with friends. Im not in it for the fiction Bungie style. On the other hand....if they did raise the depth and program in exploding body parts, rolling heads they would have less time to nerf all the shit that does not need nerfing.

4 OdpowiedziHalo wasn't great because it was rated M and by today's standards all the halo games would be rated T. Hence why halo 5 is rated T.

3 OdpowiedziWe just make petitions about anything huh?

5 OdpowiedziYou don't need an M Rating to have a good story. Looking at you Uncharted 1-4.

6 OdpowiedziExample: the aura on warpriest was originally called "drenched in blood" or similar but had to be renamed because of destiny's rating. Doesn't have to be about sex and visual violence like OP points out.
-
They're not going to up the rating to M simply because the base game and all subsequent DLC have already been rated T. They want the widest audience, and a T rating allows for that.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika sebguts10: 6/24/2016 7:00:11 PMI mean… was Halo really an M game? I know what it was rated, but it always seemed kind of overblown to me. So the ground becomes a different color when I shoot something. That's it? Halo had no cursing, very little brutality, and themes that, while dark, weren't very "adult" to me. Personally, I think that if Halo: Combat Evolved came out today, it'd be rated T. Destiny is just as violent and "adult" as Halo. Hell, I'd go so far as to say that Destiny is more violent than Halo. The Covenant is tame tame TAME compared to the messed up things The Hive do. There's just no blood on the ground, so no M rating. That T on the box is not limiting Bungie in terms of their story creation and writing. If you need an M rating to make a good story that deals with complex themes and ideas, you're doing it wrong.

1 OdpowiedźDude most of these people here are clueless and don't have full grasp on the ESRB system. I understand what you're saying and I completely agree Except with the Halo comparison. Halo was a much better game for many more significant reasons than merely an M rating

It's completely visible that they are doing it to be able to accommodate to all age groups. I mean they are pushing it really far with stuff like Petra cayde and Shaxx all saying damn, and the thorns grimoire...
