First off I THINK DROPPING LAST GEN IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. BUT,
Why are you being SO RUDE to the people on last gen all of the sudden?
I play on PS4 and PC. I have the current hardware. But I'm not on here assblasting last gen players!
The second they announced that change I was happy because that means we'll probably get more vault space, but I knew it would turn into a civil war on here.
Be understanding. We are all human beings and there is no need to be so rude to people who might not be excited about dropping $400 for a console, $60 for Destiny Legendary Edition and then another $30 for Rise of Iron.
Give people a break. If you see someone complaining about it, just ignore it, no need to kick them while they're down.
Guardians need to stand together instead of yelling at each other over which plastic box plays our games.

1 OdpowiedźWhy does everyone seem to miss that yes PS3 & 360 aren't getting ROI but they have already said those guardians that do stay on the older platforms will go down a different path, albeit they haven't said too much about what that path may be. Wait until E3 and see what is said. If you do choose to upgrade buy the PS4/Xbox 1 bundle that includes Destiny and then your only out about $60 for TTK and ROI, port your guardian over and start enjoying the benefits of the newer consols. I know not everyone can afford to drop say $350 - $400 total but with trading up and all your old accessories you can really drive the total out of pocket down.

I don't consider it being rude, I just consider it a healthy dose of reality. The reality of it is, it was bound to happen and the fact that they are doing it now means it's a calculated decision for one reason or another. I choose to believe that it means there's a real possibility of larger patrol areas or content. I mean... given that the vault had to be entirely redesigned to accommodate old gen AND that it can't even handle certain emotes or gun/armor animations, it seems to make sense that the capabilities of those systems are hampering their design freedom. Whether this is true or not, I have no idea but I would expect that they are going to give us a taste of WHY they made this decision in their future reveals. Also, for all the old gen consoles: look for deals! My brothers both recently got an xbox one by turning in a 360 at gamestop through a deal and paid $140! $30 later for TTK and the three of us have been playing Destiny together for a month or so now. If you can't afford it, don't sweat it! It's just a video game and it's summer time now, get out there and enjoy it!

1 OdpowiedźIt is not about cost or technology for me. I just feel Bungie should have either not botthered supporting the PS3 in the first place or at least made the break cleanly at the END of Destiny 1. I didn't buy Destiny - it came bundled with the PS3 and still is. At least food is sold with a best before date.

2 OdpowiedziI finally upgraded the family to xb1 this past Xmas and just got destiny for xb1 cuz most of my 360 team mates moved on. I still play on 360 if the wife is watching Netflix on the xb1. The way I see it. I dropped 60 for vanilla. Then 40 for the season pass. Then 40 for TTK and finally 30 for xb1 TTK special. It may seem like a lot for 1 game but it's the only game that I've been playing for 2 years straight. Think about it. You spend 60 every time a new game comes out. Play it for a while, beat it and then put it away or trade it in. Atleast we are getting our money's worth with this game.

it has more to do with all the last gen crybabies that, for what ever excuse, can't get a current gen console. they are complaining about it and thus getting the proper replys of "you had 3 years, shut up". and no, this isn't all of a sudden. the first time was when bungie announced last gen was holding us back on vault space. that caused much hysteria on here. its just now, the cry babies have to upgrade to continue playing new content. and so there are more threads about how lazy they are, but have plenty of time to come up with excuses why they can't get the current gen. instead of coming up with ways to acquire it.

Ehhhh no

Yes there was a lot of rude posts like "haha poor people can't play anymore!" Made me have to reconsider even wanting to play destiny.
-
Its a good call to leave em behind. Progress.
-
I've not been rude to anyone. Any replies I made on the subject were concise and to the point. Why are you lumping all of us into a "rude reply" box? Generalizations like this are the problem with this forum.
-
I haven't been rude to any of them but a lot of them are spouting off on here when they should just accept one of the facts of life. Tech moves on. Crikey, a few years back a computer was nearly out of date by the time you'd gone through the setup procedure. The cost to move on, should they wish, will be much more reasonable come release day. There will no doubt be console bundles, virtually giving the game free. There may even be a ps4.5 by then, rendering the current gen "last gen" ( I'm fairly sure they will purely be incorporating the vr box of tricks into the main console, but no one knows yet??)
-
I just get annoyed by their sense of entitlement. They expect developers to hold themselves back for the sake of last Gen. I'm generalizing and I know not everyone is that way but the majority of the ones I've seen have been that way

1 OdpowiedźI've tried to be very diplomatic when defending Bungie's decision to drop last gen support for Destiny but that is easier said than done given the tone of a lot of these posts. On occasion, I've had to take a slightly condescending tone because it often feels like I'm trying to explain a very obvious choice to a small child who decides to throw a tantrum because they aren't getting the answer they want.
-
I agree but there also is no need to come to a community forum and expect sympathy from everyone.

2 OdpowiedziI haven't seen a fight like this since the battle of twilight gap!

Because the complaints are at best just whining. When Rise of Iron drops, D2 was originally going to drop; and D2 was and will be next gen only. Add to this fact that the last gen game is just missing the expansion; nothing is changing on their end. It's not like they're not able to get the DLC and all the daily/weekly/monthly activities become DLC stuff. Their game will remain playable. And finally add to it that if they saved 2 quarters a day since destiny came out they could've bought the new console, destiny, and all DLC when Rise of Iron drops, and you really start realizing how petty it is. Not only did they know it was coming, but they actively ignored it. What would they have done had this been Destiny 2 and not Rise of Iron? The same exact complaining? It's all childish whining at best, entitlement at it's worst.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Chaplain0987: 6/13/2016 3:29:52 PMOkay so here's what I don't get. How are we holding you back? By the evidence presented Xb1 and Ps4 operate on entirely different hardware and software system. So your argument there is invalid. Now granted some of you guys/gals out there did work for/ save your money and buy it yourself ( full prompts to you) . While some of you ( can you guess which age span?) had mommy and daddy buy it for you. So to you guys.

The system is 300$ and they already said you can port your character over for 10$ it may even be free. So you are way of the mark for price. Also you. An trade that old shit in too. Bringing the price down even more. Stop inflating numbers dude.

I have Destiny on PS4 and PS3. To me everyone from PS3 should move on. Its so laggy and feels like 480p idk how they even enjoy it. What I am worried about is how will they seperate it will I have 6 characters post rise of iron? I honestly liked turning on my PS3 to do stuff while PS4 was down.
-
You got a point. I'm a last gen player but I'm not badblasting Bungie for their decision. They have to progress at some point and last gen just happens to keep holding them back. To be honest, I bet majority of their complaints of the game come from last gen. I'm a last gen player too. Some just don't understand that they are going to have any progress on the game if they keep placing content on last gen. This would mean that they'd place quicker and way more content on current gen so we just have to deal with it. Find another game.

19 OdpowiedziThe thing is that we're supposedly holding back the game. But unless the update is over 27 gigs for our end, the only thing we're holding back is your ability to be mature.

2 OdpowiedziI'm glad destiny isn't on pc.

I think it has to do with the attitude they are taking with it. I do believe the first few posts after reveal were pretty nasty by the old gen players. It wasn't a civil discussion. It was a bunch of whiny name calling. I'm a little tired of seeing almost nothing but threads about this. I'm sure other players are too. This gets old quick and tempers flare.

Some of the backlash has been pretty juvenile and cold. Personally, I am in support of dropping last gen since it will allow Bungie to hopefully fully utilize the power of the current gen systems without trying to make sure all features and options also work on 11 year old hardware. A lot of the harsh animosity may stem from the fact that last gen owners feel so entitled to all new content as if they weren't playing on obsolete consoles who's life cycle ended over 2 years ago. While they may have their reasons for keeping those consoles and not upgrading to current generation, that is their decision (whether by choice or circumstance) and basically demanding a Developer to continue to support their system is ridiculous. Bungie has supported the last gen far longer than a lot of other companies. It is unfortunate, but the gaming industry is moving forward, not backward.
