Or more commonly known as "Mormons." There is a lot of controversy and misconceptions about us. If you have any real questions that you genuinely want to know an answer to please ask kindly and I will try to get to everyone who asks when I can.(sometimes that can be a long time so bear with me)
Also I don't claim to know everything I'm still learning like everyone else, but what I do know I will gladly share. But I do know more than what's on the internet posted by people who distort what we believe. (On purpose or accidentally)
Also if you just want to hate on us (and or all other religious groups) please just go to a different post.
And yes, I do in fact belong to the church of Jesus Christ of later day saints. I am not perfect, and I do not profess to be perfect. But I am striving to be better.
Edit. Added some basic beliefs we have.
[spoiler]The Articles of Faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul--We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

9 OdpowiedziSo after becoming curious I started looking into these things of which are being discussed. I am only looking for God's truth, so I mean no disrespect and I'm not looking for anyone's hate. My main question is this: how do you explain the prophecy of Smith which did not come to pass? I read a few articles and found one that seemed pretty open and honest and based off of scripture. After reading it I looked up the article's references on lds.org so I knew I was getting the un-altered prophecy and historical documents from the source which believe them. I used the Doctrine and Covenants listed and searched on lds.org and found the History of the Church. When you have time, please read this. Make sure to read the prophecy of David W. Patten(about halfway through). This is a long but educational article. http://coldcasechristianity.com/2014/can-we-trust-the-prophecies-of-joseph-smith/ Again, I only seek the truth. Not just for myself, but for all interested in seeking the truth. So they may better serve the Father and strengthen their faith in and through Christ.

Ye. Why did God bang another man's woman to create Jesus, and then why does the bible say adultery is wrong? Isn't this a contradiction of God's morals?

1 OdpowiedźHow accurate is the Broadway play "The Book of Mormon"? I find it very entertaining and sometimes wonder how much of what they say is true. Also, does that play offend you or any other Mormons not just because you're human being but just because you're Mormon?

I have one. Why do you put yourself through that much trouble? Why not just live freely, without the fear of some omnipotent being smiting you if you don't sing for it every two hours?

17 OdpowiedziGalatians 1:8-9 says. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. -KJV. Yet right on the front cover of the Book of Mormon it says "Another testament of Jesus Christ" so how do you not see that you are preaching another Gospel, and that you are accursed?
-
Not really.
