Seriously Bungie, is this what you intended?
Because you've made the loot totally obsolete, no one wants to do this raid anymore.
Players who do want to play it must resort to cheesing, just to enjoy the content.
Let that sink in.
You must cheat, just to play content you paid for.
Oh, and why am I still playing Crota's End? I still need black hammer. Over 30 normal mode clears, no drop. Working as intended?
So I finally kill scrota after a few tries, bugs, etc. Does it feel epic? Did 3 hours of effort pay off?
No.
I got two -blam!-ing shaders.
It was totally demoralizing. I went above and beyond, worked to overcome the bullshit situation bungle created, got past the bugs and it just made me want to snap the game disc.
Seriously bungie, this experience is all too common.
Repeated disappointment leads to resentment, which leads to players leaving the game.
I think about doing this again, and how bungie DESIGNED the game to be like this ON -blam!-ING PURPOSE (see gambling retention strategies) and I turn the game off in disgust.
This is destiny. Grind, buy microtransactions, endure bugs, use external sites just to build a team, use external browser just to read a shitty chopped up story, and then grind some more.
Be brave, become legend. Become a slavish fanboy.
-blam!- you bungle. You've changed.
No wonder most the player base has left.
And who could forget this gem from deej:
Bungie Weekly Update 12/04/2014:
"In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."

2 OdpowiedziDude, I your problem is as obsolete is the gear you got. There's a lot of new content that gives you relevant gear. As of right now Y1 activities don't matter, so why are you trying so hard to get gear from that time? Bungee has provided a replacement, and if you don't enjoy that content, that's not their fault. Not everyone will like what they put out, don't make them cater to your needs
-
So sad and all true..
-
4 OdpowiedziBlack hammer drops on hard mode if I remember correctly
-
You must not have tried very hard
-
Don't do VoG or CE to get loot. Do them for fun, if at all.
-
I have played over 100+ crotas overall, year one and year two, and got black hammer on 100+. Also, it felt epic for me soloing my first time, Idk what's wrong with you. RNG is working as intended, it's giving you random rewards. ~TheGreatReebok

Looking for a pair of two who want to do Coe or a group of five looking to do the raid. I prefer a mic but all is chill. Message SnakiestAce094 for inv!

The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. But it's still on the list.
-
Git gud

That last part you quoted is what annoyed me the most. They improved so many things with the taken king and especially with the April update, but went back over to the dark below days of having so much obsolete gear. The point of an expansion is in the name - to EXPAND on what we already have, not to give us new things and make everything else obsolete. With every new expansion, update, title or otherwise in the destiny franchise - we should have MORE things to do, and MORE things to earn.

Level sync would fix this. It would allow people the challenge of doing the raids as they were meant to be while offering rewards at the top level. It would give people a choice-- don't want to do Kings Fall this week? There's Crota or the Vault.
-
Dude same thing with the black hammer. I never got the hunger or the black hammer. I did get around 10-15 songs though. And a crap ton of radiant materials.
-
never done crotas end I quit destiny before HoW and came back after TTK id love to do crotas end some time
-
Why do you want BH tho?
-
I hope you know to do it on normal. You only get primary drops from hard mode
-
In the end this isn't about people not wanting to play older content that doesn't help with current meta and level caps but you are upset about RNG not dropping a certain weapon. Come on bro you know Destiny RNG does not guarantee you anything no matter how many times you run a certain raid or strike. I have friends who are still doing VoG hard mode for the Vex Myth and Praetorians Foil and they are Beta players with between 75-100 runs each. But don't give up hope bro, I am still hunting for Praetorians Foil and Hunger of Crota myself. If it wasn't for us collectors the older raids would be obsolete.
-
2 OdpowiedziHow do you solo the bridge now? Every time I jump across and kill the first ogre the totems activate.
-
Me and my friend could 2 man flawless raider it in year 1
-
Same here bro it's how I got most of CE gear since during TDB I didn't raid that much
-
Agreed. For the no time to explain, you have to do obsolete content.

4 OdpowiedziJust another thing that proves destiny doesn't know what it wants to be. Raids in the context of what they stand for become obsolete when a new expansion comes out. It's like this in warcraft. and it's like this in destiny. However warcraft unlike destiny has TONS of things for a player to do and is filled with content. On top of that they have a deep character building system. Both visually and for actual in game effects. Destiny doesn't have either of these. Just like destiny is meant to be a social experience. Yet nothing in game pushes it to be that way. It's crazy to think that this game didn't launch with VoIP. You have to go outside the game to form groups. They don't want an in game LFG system because supposedly they don't want people dropping out after a frustrating experience. Welp. That's okay I guess. except you design your toughest pve content to be accessible. Just like the rest of the game. You don't have any incredibly complex mechanics. No "rolls." And the toughest experience you have given is hard mode. Where you don't respawn until the next checkpoint. That's really it. Hell IMO the best raid in the game (kings fall) isn't mechanically complex in the slightest. it's all about communication. We get it. It's meant to be an accessible FPS with "insperation" pulled from real MMO's. But honestly the accessibility has really dumbed down the experience as a whole. The game doesn't respect people who invest time. and as a whole it seems like they've underestimated the community. Destiny 2 really needs to be Less accessible. More MMO. More RPG. More depth. Let time be a worthwhile investment. If you want the pvp section to be accessible and dumbed down for a general audience then go ahead. Hell you can even have some pve modes for the people who casually play. Destiny as a franchise has SO MUCH POTENTIAL that's simply wasted because they are afraid of losing people who can't get into the depth. Or losing people who only play a few hours a week. I play ESO casually. and I don't feel left behind at all. Don't waste your potential Bungie. You've created a good universe with some solid gameplay. Just -blam!-ing expand on it. Don't be simplistic.
-
Get some friends and play. I did it with my buddies and got Glowhoo, Word of Crota, and the Graverobber.
-
Why would anyone use lfg when you could use the destiny app?
-
3 Odpowiedziwhy would anyone want to play it though
-
2 OdpowiedziIf Destiny 2 doesn't have raid matchmaking, I won't get it. Matchmaking would make raiding so much easier for older raids.
-
I agree man. I've never gotten the black hammer to drop either. That's the one gun besides the necro that has eluded me.
