Come on Bungie. I played challenge mode yesterday 3 times with different groups of randos ranging from 315-320. It took each group about the same amount of time and we reached around 30,000 as our score each time. Two out of the three fireteams didn't communicate at all (no mics) and the third group barely talked unless it was joking around.
There is no reason why this extremely easy content doesn't have matchmaking.
The only thing people need to know is that:
1. You need about 5000-6000 score by the end of the first round.
2. You need 15000-16000 score by the end of the second round
3. You need 30,000 by the end of the third round.
4. Each time you complete a wave shoot the boss.
5. Shoot the boss as much as you can until they have a sliver of health and then really try shooting for points and ignore the boss until you reach your goal (or until Variks start subtracting points).
Edit: I just completed my 10th CoE run. All with mostly different people ranging from a 310 squeaker to a 322 master. Little to no communication at all. It is not needed. Matchmaking should be added to just this endgame activity.
Edit 2: Lots of you point out that if there is matchmaking then there will be AFK players. Again, you do not have to use matchmaking. I am proposing that it is optional. It will still be in your best interest to play with friends or look on LFG. This is just for people who maybe can't find anyone to play with. It at least gives them a chance to play the game they paid for.
Edit 3: I would also like to note that I have yet to wipe on any of the 10 CoE runs I have done. 30 bosses with no wiping. Heck, I've only died a few times as well.
I hope Bungie doesn't look at this and go, "Oh, it's too easy. Alright then. We're nerfing points earned and adding more difficult modifiers." Just don't do it Bungie. It's nice to have easy content.
Final Edit: (sorry for the wall of text)
I also noticed that a lot of you mention the fact that, "oh, I can solo it so it doesn't need matchmaking." That doesn't even make any sense. How would adding optional matchmaking to CoE negatively affect anyone who doesn't decide to use it? What does soloing have to do with anything?

Call of duty has the option for solo play OR match made. Activision made call of duty. Activision is partnered with bungie. Activision should share there, probably ridiculously simple, code for this with bungie. Is it going to happen in this game? Probably not, but they dang sure need to have it in destiny 2.

5 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika FrenchFries: 4/15/2016 6:28:12 PMYou obviously didn't watch the stream advertising this topic before the update. Bungie specifically mentioned that matchmaking for CoE wasnt going to happen because they added checkpoints. This means that in a pre - built fireteam, when you do CoE, at each round, the points you have accumulated as a team will be saved, as well as the round you are on. How can this be done for matchmaking? Especially with AFKers or people who just leave.

I'm going to laugh so hard when the shit hits the fan and challenge mode gets hard as hell. You try bungie if you want, they already cut your sniping ammo by 1/3 and made your fav weapons into norms. It does say normal people...

1 OdpowiedźI'll play 334 on all characters!

I got it, enable matchmaking when you have an extremely high grimoire... Chances of being a lazy prick go way down as you near the max amount of points... Just saying
-
I laugh everything I see matchmaking. As if it's so hard to make a post.

100% agree. I have long been posting how optional matchmaking should be in every activity. Having said that, I soloed PoE Challenge Mode twice yesterday. It's quite easy tbh. Not a reason to not have optional MM, though. Just throwing it out there for those that can't find a team.

1 OdpowiedźOptional matchmaking should be available to all activities. There is already a form of it in the crucible. In the crucible you can take part in events as a part of a fireteam or freelance. If it's ok for crucible then why shouldn't it work with pve. Obviously it is better to be in a fireteam, with experienced guys you know all using mics, but if you don't have a fireteam you can still participate. I play iron banner every month and not having a fireteam or mic has never stopped me maxing out all my characters. I have never played Trials because this game I paid for won't allow me to.

For PoE having simpler mechanics than raids I really wonder why they don't have matchmaking for all of them Variks friggin tells you what to do every round so I see no reason to not include this
-
Surely it's not hard to implement an optional matchmaking on all strikes/raids/whatever

I actually agree. I mean, it isn't like this is a raid or nightfall or anything that hard...
-
This, this, THIS! Wtf, Bungie, coming up on 2 years and you're still making this same mistake!!!!
-
Yeah. Your steps are exactly how I do it. Its extremely easy content to get with little to no communication. In fact, all of the objectives are soloable. So any kind of team work is really only to achieve higher than a 30k score. Just give us matchmaking.

Think there should definitely be an option. Let the people who want to go in with friends and no extras have no matchmaking for missing spots, but for the people who don't want to go to a website and find some random to play with match make. Btw, I know you can solo this. But raids after your first time through it's easy to know what everyone is doing and don't need to be on mics to co-ordinate.
