Bungie, you said on the stream that the reason you don't seperate PvP and PvE stats are because our guardian is our guardian everywhere we go. Part of Bungie's design philosophy is to make sure that weapons work the same no matter the activity.
If this is so, then why are all your balance changes based solely on PvP usage of the weapons?
Surely if part of your design philosophy is to ensure en equal experience across playmodes, then why do you not take into account how the guns are used in PvE when making your decisions.
MIDA for example - was nerfed solely because it was "overused" (according to Bungie) in PvP. So you take away the knockback / stagger and in doing so destroy the weapon's usefulness in PvE. It will now underperform any number of legendary scouts which do not take up the exotic slot.
If you're going to use parity between PvP and PvE as an excuse, then you should make sure that your metrics collection and playtesting play by those same rules. It's clear that as of today, they do not.

For PvE, who cares about stagger? I use Mida for speed and a better headshot chance, I've never noticed it mess up AI enemies the way it does in PvP.
-
Bungie just needs to learn that debuffing a over used weapon is a stupid way of doing things. Just buff other options
-
>Bungie reduces sniper and shotgun ammo >adds more special ammo boxes in PvE to compensate >Bungie removes HCR as an intrinsic property of MIDA >it never really did anything in PvE anyway >why would you use MIDA in PvE? >Bungie INCREASES hand cannon reserve ammo >nuff said Right now, you're making yourself look like a whiny twelve year old that's never played a game that mixes PvP and PvE.
-
They nerf solely on pvp numbers, and they have buffed certain weapons just for pve. Like when they buffed shotguns by 100% for pve only. Proof positive that it can be done separately.

Bungie creative lead watched stream, then decided to leave Bungie. I'm trying to figure out who is more salty ....Employees or customers

Seriously, if you're that useless of a player that you're struggling with PvE then why are you even playing this game? Let the professionals do their jobs while you go back to dying multiple times in the daily story mission. Edit: let's not forget the change to Ice Breaker and the Black Nail perk. Yeah, those were totally PvP focused changes. Edit for the idiots: By "professionals" I'm referring to BUNGIE EMPLOYEES/DEVELOPERS. Let them make the game and quit acting like you could do their jobs better than them.

Concisely summarises an argument a lot of people have been saying in the wrong way. Well said. Bump

10 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika CrestedEBIN: 4/7/2016 2:36:57 PMThank you captain obvious - dude this exact thing has been the issue since the game dropped ... Y u think they call it a sandbox ... And furthermore PvE isn't touched on cuz it's fine --- PVP is not . Also PVP weapons are the weapons WE USE why would u think about PvE when bad guys have their own weapon sets ... The whole reason for the tiny nerf to MiDA is cuz it sucks to be shot with it: not to shoot it. Besides the perks for PvE that matter are still there hare trigger boosted agility/ movement speed ... MIDA helps ppl get through the darkness zone not with bullets but with the other perks.. * MIDA is not and was not ever a high impact scout. There are plenty of scouts u can use that are designed for impact, MIDA is not one of them. Not by a long shot;) Just be happy they didn't nerf the mag size .. That's where it's true power lies. Ppl crying about a pubic hairs width of impact .. Makes me lol

All the guns that are moving up need to be found more grind!

2 Odpowiedzi"Your weapon should handle the same in all situations, meaning that all stats will be modified to balance the crucible where everyone has roughly the same HP and never mind the pve side where there are massively different amounts of health in enemies. Just learn to live with the fact that your guns and supers are going to suck in pve cause there so much crying on the forums." I have a feeling they're lying. It would be more honest if they'd just come out and actually say "our backend is really shitty guys, we have no way of separating the two. We promise this will be rectified in Destiny 2 along with dedicated servers across both pvp and pve activities to ensure you smooth online gameplay."

Because Randall the Vandal doesn't create polls on this forum asking fellow bad guys like Oryx and Crota what weapon they hate being killed by the most and why fusion rifles should be nerfed.

Everyone will use aggressive ballistics on tlw to make it a shot headshot and 4shot bodyshot on ramlocks

It really isn't that bad, MiDA for example is just High Caliber rounds, the gun still fires quickly enough that it will stagger all enemies. You could also use any other scout that isn't in the high RoF archetype and is a lot better than MiDA for staggering such as Treads Upon Stars, Not Like the Others and Cocytus for example. I have a lot of things that I complain about in this game and I agree that power creeping is a better option than nerfing the hell out of something because we, the player base, enjoy it. But that's just Bungie, I'm too tired to fight the fact that they just don't have a clue anymore about how to improve their own game and the fact that Activision have their hand so far up the rectum that it's triggering their gag reflex. All in all it's a change I go Urgh, but I can live with.

Bungie just cares about how much "silver" you spend.

1 OdpowiedźI've called it "Bungie Dogma" but by that i mean it's whole Destiny philosophy of how we should play. And i think some of these problematic things are what's going on here. Like the dogma that pvp and pve weapons need to be the same. Plenty of successful games have shown that not to be a requirement. The notion that if a gun is used to much it is a problem. That's Bungie dogma. That even though LFG is actually matchmaking that we can't have matchmaking because it would never work is more Bungie Dogma. I'm great with a design philosophy but i think when it simply is wrong and doesn't work it's a problem. And bungie has several of them.

8 OdpowiedziWho uses MIDA in PVE anyway? Practically any scout rifle with Firefly will outperform it. The reason it was so overused in PVP is because it was one of the very few weapons that could reliably challenge a sniper in this terrible "meta". With snipers being "nerfed" I really think the Mida nerf was unnecessary. People will use other weapons if they don't have to go up against a bunch of snipers in every map.

You've unleashed the paragraph writers! ~I'll Ram your ass!

Bungie are scrubs! They need to git gud!

Yeah, but doesn't it just force a changeup in the loadout. I mean, great Mida could stagger, and now it under performs a legendary. Why not switch to a legendary then? Isn't the flip side to the argument the same? If they change a weapon to benefit PvE but it creates an imbalance in PvP, doesn't that spectrum suffer too? Long and the short of it is, they change stuff and people gravitate towards the next combination that benefits them the most. Give it two weeks after the update and people will have found exploits or just loadouts that benefit a play style they like. Really not the end of the world. Or "gasp" The End of Destiny.
-
Why even bring the gun back if they are going to nerf it. Reminds me of the gally nerf last August. What's the point. Should have never brought it into year 2
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika sleepYsx3: 4/7/2016 9:05:45 AMThis is what happens when they nerf everything instead of just power creeping everything else to be up to par with what is the standard. I enjoyed pvp more back in year one when every archetype of gun was broken all at the same time.
-
Because they know they don't have enough PVE material. They have to focus on PVP because it's all they have got. :(
