From what I saw on your stream this should have a matchmaking option. It didn't even take them 20 minutes to clear all three bosses!
What do you guardians think? Should we have a matchmaking option for this endgame content?
Edit: I understand that they were all level 335. I know it will be harder than it looked. My point is this is not a raid. LFG is has less and less people on them every week. Soon there want be anyone left. Maybe a few hundred the way things are going.
Edit2: seems to be a lot of interesting posts around matchmaking. Some seem to think it could ruin the overall experience. My question is could Bungie implement some sort of restrictive matchmaking system? Something along the lines of light level restrictions. Say if you are 320. You could only be matched with 315 to 320. Same goes for higher light. 321 to 328 or 328 to 335. They could even give us control over the restrictions. There doesn't have to be a vast amount of options. Just a few that would give us more control.
Of course this would be all optional.
Edit3: Thanks to everyone that posted. Everyone's opinion is valid. We have been trending for a while now. Maybe just maybe this will be seen.
Edit4: A lot of people are saying make friends. Problem solved right? That is not the point of my post. We all have friends that play online or we can lfg like everyone else. My point is to give the community a choice! The choice to lfg, play with friends, or matchmake. Optional is key word.
Edit5: Added a poll. Please vote!
Edit6: I'm glad to see more guardians talking about matchmaking! Good or bad!

It's probably going be difficult for most players to two-man the challenge mode, meaning that players will be waiting around for a spot to fill rather than moving on like they would if it was a strike. Before you say "you would have to do that with LFG too," the reality is that matchmaking lacks the same social pressure to stay together than finding your own group carries. Most groups will stick together through many wipes due to that social phenomenon, where a matchmade challenge mode would likely have someone quit after a single wipe, due to having no investment. It's these social things that make automated matchmaking tricky for challenging activities.
-
I get that a lot of people want it but it would not work for anything harder than a strike it would be painful and at the end of your 8 hr POE run you would leave without completing demoralized and broken
-
Bungie does not care what the community wants with matchmaking. They'll spew nonsense about the level of coordination needed to do endgame activities, but when it comes down to it, they're just too stubborn to implement it and see if it works or not.
-
Unless it is optional matchmaking, which Destiny has not done up until this point, then No No No No No. I don't want to be forced into playing the endgame content with random people.
-
1 OdpowiedźThe truth of the matchmaking debate is this.Only the people that want to continue playing Destiny would benefit from a OPTIONAL Marchmaking/Ingame LFG function. Most people will just shake their heads and go play another game.Whoever is making these decisions is driving or have driven players away.Im sure Activision/Bungo doesnt want people playing Destiny or they would make it easy to do so.
-
The problem is with matchmaking is that they probably wouldn't make it optional, they did the same with the weakly strike, used to be you could try to solo it if you wanted to but now you have wait for other people in the matchmaking. I really don't like the idea, if anything you could do the 28 and just msg the guys you play with till you have a fireteam.
-
I am all for it. It's an option , nothing more. If someone thinks matchmaking is bad then don't use it. Make a fire team through lfg or other means but that one day when none of your friends are on and you (myself) just want to jump in and do something matchmaking is there.
-
9 OdpowiedziWould a would be criminal commit a crime if they knew beforehand that there would be a 100% chance they would get caught? Granted not a 99.9% chance but no matter what, they would get arrested? A match made group has no chance of succeeding in the difficult activities, let alone compared to a formed group. Hell, I did a Rift match against a team of six yesterday and lost by 15,000 points! Why? Cause they all probably had mics, communicating tactics. Bungie has the brains to know these match made groups would fail, therefore it would be a waste of time to bother putting it in.
-
2 OdpowiedziPlease don't make it matchmaking. I'd rather like to be able to add my friend back when the connection craps out than get a random
-
add matchmaking +1
-
I hate activitoes without matchmaking tbh.
-
2 OdpowiedziBungie will probably never give us Match Making for End Game Content. How else are they going to get you to annoy your friends to play? =)
-
1 OdpowiedźOPTIONAL. I don't want a friend to lag out and be replaced by a random. I don't want to have someone join at the end for rewards
-
I think the option is always nice. If you get tired of not hitting a good score because the blueberry randos just melt the boss too fast, you can still LFG as usual. But at least people who just not want to deal with that can do it
-
1 Odpowiedźthere def needs to be optional matching on end game stuff. I can't play often and i don't want to join any guild or guess what i don't want you as friends, i just want to jump in complete an event and never see any of you again
-
2 OdpowiedziNope. I'll pick and choose my team, no crappy randoms!!
-
Just have a lobby where you can meet guardians wanting to do the same mission, you can then choose to team up and go.
-
2 OdpowiedziI still have no idea why other hardcore desticles care if we could do both. If there was matchmaking then everyone 'might' run into crap players, quitters, etc. However, not only can you fly into the encounter in your own fireteams like you currently have to, you could invite someone you know or from lfg sites after. I've used lfg sites for EVERYTHING and have 2 320s and a 319, but sometimes I wish I didn't have to. This is because people also suck or leave on lfg sites and it takes 15 min to repost, get new guys in, and wipe. It seems like everyone is just trolling at this point and not even listening to calm collected logical arguments. I only see them say 'it will ruin everything.' No it won't it can't if you don't use it.
-
Op is saying make level 42 Poe optional matchmaking not raids, for everyone freaking out. You don't need to be a brain surgeon to do the new Poe. It's more like an old school arcade shooter. Something fun and not sweaty. Kings Fall will still have fireteams and 330 drops. Join up and do that
-
If it's optional, absolutely. Otherwise, no way. I always really enjoyed soloing PoE and I'd be pissed if I couldn't this time around
-
1 OdpowiedźI like the Division's matchmaking system. Bring a 4 man FT of friends, find agents in the safe house or matchmake there, go to the event and matchmake for that event, or just go solo. Matchmaking has its issues. Under levelled players, salty biscuits, irritating noobs; but anyone who matchmakes knows these issues and is willing to forego or even just plain ignore these problems for loot and event completions. Just give people the option. They want their own FT, fair enough. They want to enter the often obnoxious world of matchmaking, let them. It's their choice and in the end every person has himself to blame (or otherwise) for his/her experience. :-)
-
3 OdpowiedziEndgame activities should not be Matchmade. Destiny is a social MMO so there are many opportunities for you to run across other guardians to play with. If not, the forums on here are a great place to meet up with people who share the same goal.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika AdunSaveMe: 3/25/2016 5:18:21 AMPeople defending the lack of matchmaking just don't want to admit Bungie doesn't know what they're doing. All the excuses they come up with are meaningless: matchmaking serves its own purpose and takes away ZERO OPTIONS for people who don't want to deal with its issues. I've yet to see someone actually formulate a proper argument that isn't "I don't want it" or a pile of baseless assumptions. Go ahead, prove me wrong.

Yes to matchmaking!
-
I wonder what the word optional means?
-
This is all over the forums, and I agree completely. As long as it is optional matchmaking, it will not hurt anyone. This is very much needed.
