Edit: Lots of posts asking why I'm posting.
Because I love what destiny could be, not what it is. I post to hold bungie management accountable. I post to remind them that their customers are not fools, and will leave if taken advantage of.
I post for you. Only a true friend will point out the dirt on your face. Sometimes you need the truth.
Yes my tone is frustrated, but so is much of the community. We were lied to, repeatedly. Bungie management, the mods, deej and cosmo all need to understand how dire the situation is.
Research shows that a franchise will fail if you alienate your day 1 players, your biggest fans, your "Golden cohort" as the research calls it.
These are the people who make destinylfg, steam destiny, post on sites like reddit, bring in new customers via rave reviews.
That's why I post. It's not too late to turn this ship around. Please, get it right.
If destiny is doing so well, why was Harold Ryan just fired?
Why did bungee lose a lawsuit for wrongful termination against Marty O'Donnell, one of the founders?
Why did half of the best talent leave in the past 6 months?
Why are there so many job openings at bungie?
Why was the game cut up less than a year before launch, with original vanilla content cut out, only to be sold back to us as DLC?
Why has it been 6 months since any new content has come out? I mean NEW content, not reskinned assets?
Why was destiny 2 pushed back to 2017?
Why does it take so long for a crucible match to be made, only to get 4 vs. 5 at the start?
Why is the tower so empty?
Why is it harder to find groups on destinylfg?
No no, you're right, everything is just fine!
Protip from industry: if someone is "let go" (euphemism for fired) and his replacement says a few words, he was politely fired. If the person "stepping down" says a few words, then it was his own choice.
No, bungie lost against Marty. Bungie even went so far as to file an opinion after the ruling, WHICH AGREED WITH THE JUDGE, only to try and spin the ruling as a win.
Also it is Harold Ryan ("hereafter referred to as 'Ryan' - straight from the court documents) who is clearly named and representing bungle. Strange coincidence that Ryan was "let go" shortly after the ruling. The additional opinion filed is what's known as a "sore loser" in the legal industry and a "dick, crybaby move" in other industries, solely to try and malign Marty.
Also, why would Joe Staten leave before launch? Because he was fed up with management's decision to scrap his story and rewrite it all. He's only a New York Times Bestselling Author. Surely whoever replaced him could do a better job. That's why the story in vanilla is so good. Oh wait...
Joe Staten also helped develop the Halo background. A good manager trusts their employees, not second guesses them. Why bring on Joe in the first place if not to use him?
It has been well documented that content was cut from vanilla, then resold as DLC. Take off your blinders and read. It's not my job to educate you; if you refuse to accept reality, that's your choice. Quick proof: the dreadnought was in early promo video before launch.
Deny it all you like, but bungie has not communicated a clear plan ever. Also they clearly scrapped their 10 year plan that was leaked; the internal meeting slow showing "comets" as expansions.
At the game developers conference recently, the makers of The Witcher stated that the biggest mistake a company can make is to not lay out a long term road map, to not communicate, with the fans.
Silence is proof of no plan. Otherwise a reasonable company would be building hype, getting customers excited for upcoming content.
It's been 6 months since the Taken King and we still have no clear idea of what NEW CONTENT is on the way.
Year 1 destiny: launch, 2 dlc releases.
Year 2 destiny: the taken king and.... well, halfway into year 2, we still don't know.
Oh but hey, here's some reskinned assets to keep you busy while we figure out what the hell we're doing.
Yep, things are looking good at bungee.
Anything else?
...
Didn't think so.

11 OdpowiedziGames are supposed to entertain. No one here really gives a flying -blam!- what is happening at Bungie; we are gamers not investors. Long as they produce, people will be happy. They haven't produced, so the rumblings here have ensued for too long Pro-tip: find something else to do if not entertained. Your post otherwise is rather meaningless.

Whilst I agree with a lot of what you say Bungie has never stated that Destiny 2 will be released in 2016 so to announce that it is being released in 2017 is not a delay, its the release schedule.

Hell what does doing well even require, what is the criteria? That and why do we or bungie care what you or anyone, like minded or otherwise, thinks that is? Honestly the game is fine, the series will keep going. There are people that want it to, both player and developer, and for that it will. You aren't convincing anyone that it is the opposite, and getting frustrated about it and coming here to type out your feelings isn't going to change that.

Edytowany przez użytkownika SirSwell: 3/21/2016 2:14:11 PMIf u looked at the numbers of pairs that completed the crimson doubles quest, that gives an idea of active players Edit- couldnt find the exact number, but it was in am e-mail and claimed around "4 million" pairs... As to why its doing so well, well.. Its a well rounded game in my opininon

Most of the squeaker’s questions can be answered with, “Destiny is not an MMO, it is between content cycles.” It’s like saying where is all that new Fallout 4 content and why has the player base fallen. I paid 50 dollars for that game, got about 20 hours out of it and that’s it? Where is the rest, why are they so lazy and incompetent at Bethesda? I heard they fired someone three years ago, that must be the reason. How many hours do you expect out of a 50 dollar game? You're not paying monthly fees, you're paying nothing at all and still complaining. Thankfully my console has an eject button. After I got my 50 dollars out of the game, after the content got stale, I ejected the game and played something else. I was even able to put the Destiny disc back in when I wanted to play a few weeks later. What an amazing piece of technology. If you open your eyes you'll see Bungie has clued us in on their plans for the next two years. A free spring update coming on April 12, a DLC later in the year and Destiny 2 next year. I get the impression you don't have any idea what goes into making all of that. Gee I wonder why Bungie has open job positions, what a mystery that is. LOL, seriously? Pretending there isn't a plan, when a plan was clearly communicated a few days ago shows what an imbecile you are.

1 OdpowiedźGot to say I agree with the majority of your post. This game could have been so much better than it is. If you look back at the e3 demos it looked incredible filled with a hugely developed story. I don't think anyone believe the game turned out to be at its full potential, whether that's down to Bungie or activision I can't say but you have to think it's the second. As for the cut content there are still areas such as Jupiter and Saturn that were shown back in the e3 demos that we are yet to see. There is also a lot of armour that was meant to drop with ttk, that unfortunately I think will end up making the majority of the loot that comes with the April update. I might be wrong but I'm sure I saw something about moth looking people in one of the videos as well? Destiny is a good game but had the potential to be something truly great.

Riddle me this, Desticle... If Destiny is doing so well, who pushes the liquid up the straw? If Destiny is doing so well, why does the earth never slow down? If Destiny is doing so well, who makes the earth warm? If Destiny is doing so well, why don't balloons fall when you drop them? If Destiny is doing so well, why don't fish drown in water?
Thats what I thought.
Destiny had issues when it launched, it was ambitious and Bungie didn't know how to make a game like it. It's understandable that people left, it was a hard time for the company. I won't ever say Destiny is perfect, it's not. Isn't that part of the fun though? It's a fixer upper. I like being a part of this games growth, being part of the community.

3 OdpowiedziWho cares about the original employees? It has no bearing on the games quality. I'm sure Ford doesn't have its original employees, but would you take a Model T over a modern car?

So nerf fusion rifles?

5 OdpowiedziStopped reading after "why is the tower so empty" and "hard to find groups on lfg" the tower has many different servers, allowing for a max of 13 people at a time on one server. As for finding groups on lfg, you obviously dont know how to look. I have spent 6 months solely as a lfg player, and have never had a problem finding a group. Therefore, everything else stated cannot be trustworthy. Good try!

Destiny had potential. It no longer holds that potential until infusion and mediocre guns are gone.

Ok then explain why my moms foof smells like heaven but tastes like hell ?

Bungie has / had something great but failed at the MMO level. I know this is not officially a MMO, but they should have hired a MMO consultant. Wanna know the first thing they would have said? Da faq you doing designing a ten year game on last gen, ten year old consoles?
it's not my job to educate you
/Writes a giant post of crap I don't care about Destiny is a game. Destiny is in between content. Destiny is fine.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Iron Death Hawk: 3/21/2016 6:58:40 AMPro tip man, you can't play one game forever without taking breaks or trying other games. So the tip is during content dips that pretty much every game that has a persistent world has, go play something else.

4 OdpowiedziIt's doing well because people still post in the forums even after they claim to have left the game. Bitching about "what it could be" is a shit way to look at a game. Just enjoy what you have. It's a great game even with some flaws. If you had never heard anything about it from Bungie or anyone else, what would think about it.....its freaking awesome. Have a good perspective on things. Negativity is meh.
