How Did You Find Love?
Hey guys,
So junior in high school here (almost a senior, gah!).
I realize this is a lot to read, so those who don't want exposition, just skip to the bold.
Anyways, as of to date I have never had a girlfriend, had a girl like me back, or gone on a date with a girl. This has always been a problem for me since my friends all have (or just recently broke up with their) dates / first crushes / girl/boyfriends. While they keep warning me about dating in high school, something happened recently that caused this problem to resurface. That was Valentine's Day. You see, we had a bunch of teachers talk to us about love and crap I know nothing about, and they said that it is beneficial to date in high school because it'll (if nothing else) give you experienced for college and life. I have no clue where to even begin.

So how did you guys find your first love? How long did it take? How'd you know if it was real? Honestly, I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.

So this seems to be more popular than I had previously thought. I've read countless touching stories with numerous bits of advice woven in them. Now for another question: How do you tell if it's love? (Please try and avoid answers like "you just do")

I thought it looked noice, me sucking at art, really envied it. I decided to tell them how sexy I thought it was. After a while, we stopped talking. That was what made me figure out me though because I am very loyal when I am with someone that I accept things that are not normal at all. No one is normal but I'm going to say she had a "daddy" complex. Which I allowed her to do because I cared. She wasn't the same person when she was a friend. I know now that I really just rushed into a relationship because I didn't really know what one was. Just don't rush it. Find someone that even when you are upset with them or anything you still care because that is true love. Sorry for the rant but this need to be said.

Romantic emotions are pretty hard for me to accept or reciprocate. Don't sweat it. You don't really need a relationship, and if you get in one where you don't have any feelings for the other person it's not gonna be pleasant. If you do want one, just be yourself and you'll find someone.

2 OdpowiedziHonestly, just got super lucky. Got a seasonal job at a Halloween store, saw this girl at the group interview, and just...bam. I fell hard. Asked for her number at the orientation, and then it just sorta fell into place.

8 OdpowiedziI wouldn't recommend trying to find love in high school. You might end up moving around a lot when you're finished and you shouldn't have to put some one through that. And also, not many people in high school has very cool socks.

2 OdpowiedziFreshman year in high school. I had a crush on an older kid. We never spoke, he didn't even know my name. 3 years later my then boyfriend and I broke up and I was posting depressing statuses on Facebook. My old crush messaged me for the first time saying "you post a lot of depressing stuff." >lol I responded. Long story short our three year anniversarys coming up and we've lived together for two, have a dog and two cats. Lol

You can't search for it, you can't work for it, you can't "make it happen", you can't say or do anything that is going to auto-magically bring it into your life. But don't despair. It's actually easier than all of that previous effort that I mentioned. Just be open to the possibility and hope that the other person is open to it as well. If you both are, and it is meant to happen, it will. But just like not "trying to find it", you also shouldn't try to force it.
