Hey guys,
So junior in high school here (almost a senior, gah!).
I realize this is a lot to read, so those who don't want exposition, just skip to the bold.
Anyways, as of to date I have never had a girlfriend, had a girl like me back, or gone on a date with a girl. This has always been a problem for me since my friends all have (or just recently broke up with their) dates / first crushes / girl/boyfriends. While they keep warning me about dating in high school, something happened recently that caused this problem to resurface. That was Valentine's Day. You see, we had a bunch of teachers talk to us about love and crap I know nothing about, and they said that it is beneficial to date in high school because it'll (if nothing else) give you experienced for college and life. I have no clue where to even begin.
Skippers begin reading here:
So how did you guys find your first love? How long did it take? How'd you know if it was real? Honestly, I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.
Edit 1:
So this seems to be more popular than I had previously thought. I've read countless touching stories with numerous bits of advice woven in them. Now for another question: How do you tell if it's love? (Please try and avoid answers like "you just do")

2 OdpowiedziI had a crush on someone in middle school, I was working up the courage to tell her how I felt, and then she moved to a different school. Now I'm a junior in high school, and I haven't had feelings for anyone else since.

Met on an online game called final fantasy 11 lol. Proved everyone wrong. Other than work, I stayed at home playing video games and was still able to find a waifu despite everyone's worry for me lol.... I can tell you what love isnt. It's not some magical cure all for all life's misgivings. I was desperate for love to the point of depression. Finding it helps ease the tensions of life while at the same time increases. Love isn't eternal either. There will always be something that can kill it, if you allow it to anyways. Fight for it. Fight to keep it. When do you know it's love? Ask yourself this cheesy question. "If my soul were made of glass, could I trust this person with it?"

I didn't

It's not love if you're in high school. At my high school (and it isn't a ghetto hs) the guys are always groping their girls and shoving their tongue down the girls throats. It's pretty gross. I take pride in the many c--blocks I've given to random guys. It's really not that important in high school because it's meaningless at that point. Just wait until you hit college :)

How do you know it's love...? Huh, tough question. I suppose it's different for everyone, but you'll notice, that much I can guarantee. You'll find yourself thinking about them for no reason, and smiling every time you do. You'll want to share in every part of them, the good and bad... You'll feel like, no matter what's going on, it'd be better with them there...

Edytowany przez użytkownika Superpug: 3/10/2016 6:08:47 AMWell you could always go the stealth-popularity route. 1st, learn to be funny (helps if you're naturally quick witted). 2nd, position yourself near all possibilities and over time show off your wit and charm with said funniness, but make no direct approach. 3rd, when ready, you'll have a good base with anyone you've been around. Edit response: well, it will be the one you bond with most whilst you do your wittiness. They will probably at some point spark conversation. It will most likely come naturally. What not to do - what my friend did: ask someone out just to awkwardly hang out for a month and break up.

My wife got picked up after work by her friends, dressed up, they got her nice and drunk, and then abandoned her at my place, we had never even met at that time. Hit it off, and three years later we got married.

You mentioned worrying about missing your chance, and my advice is this: It's just gonna happen. It's unavoidable. For example, my dad met his current wife at a local Mexican restaurant after seminary classes for the day. Shit just ends up working out. Have no fear.

9 OdpowiedziI didn't I got chained. By which I mean one girl pushes all other girls away. Even if I flirt with others she "forgives" me ;-; it's like I'm a prince stuck in a tower and this one girl is cock blocking even though I said no to her for years I finally said yes and submitted. We have been friends for 6 years so it's not like we don't get along, just never felt spark. In bright side she is a nasty girl (not in the bad way) and there is no fear of breaking up (can't tell if that good or bad) but I honestly contemplated today that we will never separate until literally "death do us part"
