"If your connection is bad, we'll be giving you even more reasons to improve it".
I have been with you since Beta...after reading that sentence ....wow.... What happened? If the goal is to exclude more players from the crucible then you found a great way to do it.
Say good bye to the players who live in rural communities. Say good bye to anyone living in Alaska. Well.....anyone who doesn't live in Anchorage. Say good bye to anyone who has no options for "improvements".
Maybe you could explain how this will affect individuals who cannot afford to pay for an "improved" connection? It's a strange twist on "pay to play".
I understand there are issues with people who use lag to their advantage however isn't there a better way to fix this problem than to penalize loyal players? We pay you for this experience; why is it our responsibility to adapt to issues with your interface after we have purchased the product?
I would appreciate some clarity on this topic.
Thank you for your time.

1 OdpowiedźThis is an online only game, Why do you think you should be able to have an advantage because you have shit internet? If you can't afford decent internet, stop playing online games. stop ruining the game for other people.
-
Bad connections are sad, but they should never give you an advantage or else it will actually encourage you to make your connection artificially bad, which I suspect some people do.
-
Aren't you sick of that modem sound by now?

1 OdpowiedźYay!!!!!!! No more cheaters & poor people!

I play with a friend in Alaska, not anchorage and it went perfectly fine. I also play with another friend that plays from his phone/mobile hotspot in his 18 wheeler across the country and again, no problem. Bungie isn't asking people to get GBPS internet speeds...

1 OdpowiedźEveryone that is mad at that has shit Internet !

2 OdpowiedziAfter reading some of the comments on this post it is very clear how toxic this community is. "If you can't afford better connection then you shouldn't play online" or maybe the gaming studio should house more servers instead of cramming everyone into a few servers. But again that's too much to ask of a company anymore. People with bad connections aren't asking for rewards they just think it's bs that they are excluded because they can't afford better connection or they don't live in an area that supports higher connection. They shouldn't be forced to spend more money or move somewhere just to play a game. They paid the same amount for the system they paid the same amount for the game and xpacs. It's only fair that they get to play the full experience like everyone else. I have 50mpbs up and down and I have never once complained about someone who laggs unless it's evident that they are cheating.

What ever arrangements you make on tinder are your own. But make sure to check if they are a cop first!

Go buy a single player game and beat it.. then go buy another single player game and beat it tooo. Then buy another single player game and beat it. And please don't play ToO
-
Ah finally, now if Bungie could drop off last gen... 😧

Yeah I feel that this will become an issue in Australia and as the OP alreddy mentioned people in rural areas where upgrading their connection "ISNT" an option at all I mean we are getting fiber internet here just very very slowly so the best connection most people have here is adsl2 with 16mbs(megabits) down and barely able to make 1mb up at the best of low traffic times . I'd like a statement from the network team saying what the recommended speeds are to not get smacked in the face by the referees ban-sausage and be blackballed from the crucible.

3 OdpowiedziNo offense, but always setting the bottom as a standard is just wrong. So many examples of this- Schools in the US only caring about the lowest 25% so they can get their A rating, participation awards instead of championship trophies, etc etc Why should the majority of people with good/great connections have THEIR games be ruined to accommodate the fewer players with the worst connections?

12 OdpowiedziDedicated servers would actually be a ton of money. The cost of the servers themselves probably isn't all that bad, but the price of building buildings (multiple buildings) to house the thousands upon thousands of servers they would have to setup for dedicated servers for consoles would be massive. Then you have to include the costs of maintaining those servers, power and other utility costs for all the server buildings and what not. It's actually not just as simple as "getting dedicated servers". There is a lot more to it. But, in the end even if there were dedicated servers this game would be connection dominated. The more packets you can send with no packet lost and what not and how quickly you can do that will determine whether or not you easily win firefights or struggle with them and that stuff cannot be fixed just because they implemented dedicated servers.

1 OdpowiedźEvery game we play, with matchmaking, does this. About time Destiny got on board, if your connection doesn't support the game it's not Bungies fault.
-
Should have been like this since day 1. Destiny is the only game I've played that "rewards" lagged connections.
-
2 OdpowiedziI moved to the city here for a better internet connection. I now will never be singled out as a cheater, lagswitcher, or possibly a hacker when playing pvp in Destiny. I know not everyone can do that right away but for those have a poor internet connection that enjoy playing Destiny as much as I do will find a way to improve their speed no matter the cost.
-
I don't understand why people think this is a novel concept. If the people lagging were the one disadvantaged since launch no one would have said anything. It's like going into a race with a pinto against a porche. You aren't supposed to win that.
-
They can't help it if you have a shit connection. Blame all the cry babies here if you don't like the referee.
-
Why should we get punished for your shit connection?

6 OdpowiedziSorry. But its time for me to remind you that you are part of a community...and its not all about you. The quality (or lack thereof) of your internet connection in a game like this NEGATIVELY AFFECTS the play experience of OTHER people who in many cases are JUST as loyal and pay JUST as much (if not more ) for this experience. Bottomline. If you don't have a broadband connection that is good enough to stream video without a problem...you really shouldnt' be gaming on-line. Especially games as ping-sensistive as competitive FPS. ...and allowing the poor quality of your connection to negatively impact the play experience of dozens of other players who did shell out for the necessary connection is neither reasonable nor fair.
-
Pay to play? If you can't afford a decent connection (and that doesn't mean something spectacular), and an Ethernet cable then you should be going out to get a job, not playing your console. It's quite valid to reduce the playability for those with bad connections if it improves those with good connections and that it does. Do note you don't need a spectacular connection in order to have a good connection, the average connection of 10MB/s or around that is perfectly fine.
-
i love how this has turned into an elusion issue. Its an issue because it doesn't just effect you, it effects everyone in the lobby. you don't even need to have a very fast connection you just need a stable connection. buy an ethernet cable, quit streaming while you play, get rid of the potato of a router, etc. Its not that hard honestly and it does not require having a tier 1 connection to play the game.

Edytowany przez użytkownika SatelliteSurfer: 2/7/2016 2:36:47 PMBungo would rather make the player pay than to spend money on dedicated servers. See how bungo is a bunch of money hungry kunts now?

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika zSwayze: 2/7/2016 2:36:10 PMIt is not "pay to play". If I'm in NASCAR and I have a Pos car that others cant beat cause I just hit them all and they can't get out of the way or pass me, shouldn't that car be removed? Don't blame bungie for your lack of connection. Blame your ISP or your parents for you living in that area. I live in the country and when I was house shopping I made sure i had a good connection to the ISP before I made a decision. Edit: Let's say someone is saying "move to get better internet" they aren't saying move just for a game. This is 2016. You'll one day have kids that WILL need Internet for schooling, it's inevitable. The future is here and it starts with strong internet.

17 OdpowiedziHow do you even improve it? I have 15/3 and buying 50/15 i think is the next one isnt gonna make my latency go down and have a faster connection. I've tried messing with settings with static ip and port forwarding to ps4 but it made it worse. Mines not really bad I just want to get the best connection possible. I have a dual band modem/router combo but I've heard having a seperate modem and router is the best bet. Any tips im on ps4 id that makes a difference. I'm wired with a cat 6 ethernet cable. Any tips?
