Under certain circumstances the period does go inside, yes. However, not always. Anyways, if you had common sense, you would've been able to infer that I meant currently owning one or have previously owned one. Yes, I may not have written it in the correct terms to imply previous ownership, but you still could've inferred what I had meant. Like I said, don't make an ass of yourself.
