Assuming this is legit, and it certainly reads like it is, there are a few things I would respond to this with.
First and foremost I found the "you've pissed me off" part interesting because ALL of this animosity could easily have been avoided if your community manager could have actually spent his time interacting with the community.
I get the whole you can only say what you're allowed to say, but for a year you all said NOTHING.
As to your having to rewrite the game and losing 100k+ you probably were counting on, that truly sucks, but you're also pretty goddamn lucky to have a job with the potential for a 100k+ bonus. All that said though, you all have no one to blame but yourselves.
Maybe the Activision suits had meddling fingers in the pie, but let's face it, you did the exact same thing with Halo 2 and now you're pushing back Destiny 2 to get new ideas in.
That's a problem.
The ideas should already have been thought out and you shouldn't be implementing new things at this point, you should be perfecting and polishing.
You spent years building huge playable terrain for Halo 2 and ended up not using 85%.
Older Russia is what happens when you fail to learn from past mistakes.
Destiny released a flawed game, but rather than realizing that and focusing on fixing shit that truly mattered like accessibility, playable content and in-game communication, you chose to instead give us more weapons and armor to grind for that were the exact -blam!-ing same as the shit we had or worse.
How is Hung Jury better than Cryptic Dragon?
It's not.
We told you we'd rather have new fun things to shoot with our weapons we loved than to lose them and have to find new weapons. You didn't listen.
The Taken were a fun addition I grant you, but you ruined the weapons to where fighting them isn't fun.
And what's worse, you added the TTK content and rather than had the most playable content yet in the game, you -blam!-ing removed the old content.
We went from always running the same 6 Strikes to running the same 4.
PvP map rotations should have been epic with so many to choose from. Instead it's the same Cathedral/Frontier/Widows every goddamn match.
Blind Watch? Delphi? Anomoly? Asylum? Shores?
Gone.
I get that you get a lot of bullshit on these forums and I've cast my share of stones, but those of us who have been members of this community for years and who come here everyday to post are here because we love or loved this game as much as you all do and we want it to succeed and be great.
But when all our efforts, hopes, suggestions are forever met with silence (excluding Cozmo, he's been a bright spot), it's really disheartening.
And when dedicated players who've supported this game are locked out of basically all content unless upgrading, when weapons we've worked so hard and spend hundreds of hours to get are rendered meaningless without a second thought by your sandbox team, when the players that populate YOUR website and forums are second and third fiddle to the rest of the internet, it doesn't build bridges or bonds.
Some of us spoke up for you all for months saying most of Bungie are at work on Destiny 2 and that is where we'll see our changes if we do and we got shit all over for defending you.
Well here you are saying it now when you could have just said what was obvious to some of us back then and got in front of all the bullshit that's come since.
It sucks what's happened to Destiny and I truly feel bad for those artists, writers, musicians, and programmers that pour their souls into this game only to be betrayed by the ones pulling the strings.
Again, for all its flaws, Destiny was still one of the most fun games I've ever played. So why isn't it now?
Who is the one deciding to limit what we can run?
Who is deciding what weapons are allowed to be good each month?
Who is the one making the call to limit our marks, limit the #of Strikes that drop good rewards, lock content behind time-gated bs?
Whose the one who -blam!-ed over Fusion Rifles? Because they're the final straw that's pushed me to Forza since 2.0.1
Whose the one that made the call to gut Staten's work rather than trust him to know us and what we fans love? Especially reading that you're all trying to get back to his storytelling.
Whomever is the answer to those questions owes the rest of your company and this community an apology because they're destroying what in many ways still was and should still be the best game of the last decade.
I'm grateful that you wrote what you did and I really hope you don't face repercussions for doing so, because that honesty is long overdue and it's something at least I can accept and be willing to cut a little slack if you're being honest with us.
I hope this doesn't end up another 404Architect, that gets completely scrubbed from forum existence (and stop -blam!-ing pretending you don't censor the forums).
Respect is a two way street. We genuinely want to help make this game better, but that requires you all to care enough to admit when your wrong and accept our help righting the ship.
People pledge millions to games like Star Citizen that may or may not ever actually deliver. If you all were that screwed over on funds and needed more to put out content, maybe you should have tried being honest and talking to us rather than be slick with the Silver bullshit.
To proud to admit failure. To pig headed to turn to the community you spent a year trying to push away for help, so you make shit worse with all the microtransaction drama.
You want to fix Destiny? You want to repair your relationship with your fans? You want Destiny 2 to be the GOAT?
Start by cutting some -blam!-ing strings.
Peace.
The original post was removed because there was absolutely nothing to prove that the OP of the original post, found here, was a genuine employee of any kind and was also using the username "BNG_throwaway", so please take the above information with a pinch of salt (no pun intended). However, we have reached out to the OP of the original post to ask him to provide us with some sort of authentication and have told him his identity will be protected, but that we are just basically trying to confirm he's not a troll. You'd be very much surprised how often we get trolls pretending to be Bungie staff but not able to provide any verification. We intended (and still do intend) to reinstate his original post upon receiving this confirmation. Edit: So after claiming to have sent two verification emails (neither of which were received) and also sending a picture with the face blurred out and no identifying details of a guy standing in the lobby of Bungie HQ, supposedly from 8 years ago, we have received no verification from this person. He has also come clean and told us he never sent the emails in the first place. Make of this all what you will, but the conversation is still ongoing.
Reddit mods posted this In responce, not sure that post is credible.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika KIWI LEGEND: 1/26/2016 2:51:52 AMWell I've read most if not all of your posts since you started posting on the Destiny forum, and this one in my opinion is your best one yet. I don't care if the linked post is real or not, this post of yours has said what I would've liked to say to Bungie for the past year, but you said it way better than I could've said it. I would've broken into a raging tantrum halfway through and lost my Shit at Bungie lol! But you've posted exactly what I think in a mature and well thought out way.

6 OdpowiedziI'm not quite so sure that the post was for real. It used some known facts from elsewhere, and the style of the post generally didn't feel right. I think it was possibly written by a well-informed fan, using some info garnered from various sources, supplemented with conjecture and personal statements

There are a lot of questions left to answer. At this point, if bungie is smart, they will take a hard look inside and determine if their current management is taking this project in the right direction.
(Bungie, here's a hint: It's not.)
9 OdpowiedziYep. That about sums it up.

2 OdpowiedziWhy do you assume it was from Bungie? Everything said there can be put together from the piece around the net. Maybe you should not blindly believe everything you read.

I'm super shocked they still have a relevant player base. With so many better games out, you wonder if I need they are smart enough to attract addicts and sell them silver...
-
Did you really fall for that? Lol wow

Somewhere Sage Merrill is saying "I got this one Herald, what the filthy casuals need is another PVE weapon Nerf"

Who is the one that decided to leave year 1 content behind to be irrelevant? THAT person has some explaining to do.
Whomever is the answer to those questions owes the rest of your company and this community an apology because they're destroying what in many ways still was and should still be the best game of the last decade.
This. So much. The people following orders and working hard are not to blame. It's the guy(s) calling the shots.
Whose the one who -blam!-ed over Fusion Rifles? Because they're the final straw that's pushed me to Forza since 2.0.1
I'm starting to feel this way too.

1 OdpowiedźWell, we all know DeeJ didn't write this because it didn't sound like it was spoken from someone with a mouth full of Luke Smith's vagina. In other news, Destiny 2 for Spring 2017? GTFO! Great topic Sols!

2 OdpowiedziPreach on brother! Would you prefer a virtual high five or a virtual fist bump?

Shut that whining bastard down!!!

2 OdpowiedziLost, I left the forum and game for a while (FO4 and ACS for the win!). Jumped back in here after deej's shitty weekly update and was glad to see you're still here fighting the good fight. Just know we're still out here appreciating what you do.

I think it's far too late for this. It wouldn't have cost them really anything to make year one gear useable in year two. They made a lot of choices that lead them to this point. They see other game ex the division coming and know they are going to lose a sizable chunk of their fan base. But don't worry they are bringing back iron banner so everything is ok!

Bump and I love you. I completely agree

Looks like Bungie should have stayed partners with Microsoft. 343i was wise in their decision-making to stick around.
