Assuming this is legit, and it certainly reads like it is, there are a few things I would respond to this with.
First and foremost I found the "you've pissed me off" part interesting because ALL of this animosity could easily have been avoided if your community manager could have actually spent his time interacting with the community.
I get the whole you can only say what you're allowed to say, but for a year you all said NOTHING.
As to your having to rewrite the game and losing 100k+ you probably were counting on, that truly sucks, but you're also pretty goddamn lucky to have a job with the potential for a 100k+ bonus. All that said though, you all have no one to blame but yourselves.
Maybe the Activision suits had meddling fingers in the pie, but let's face it, you did the exact same thing with Halo 2 and now you're pushing back Destiny 2 to get new ideas in.
That's a problem.
The ideas should already have been thought out and you shouldn't be implementing new things at this point, you should be perfecting and polishing.
You spent years building huge playable terrain for Halo 2 and ended up not using 85%.
Older Russia is what happens when you fail to learn from past mistakes.
Destiny released a flawed game, but rather than realizing that and focusing on fixing shit that truly mattered like accessibility, playable content and in-game communication, you chose to instead give us more weapons and armor to grind for that were the exact -blam!-ing same as the shit we had or worse.
How is Hung Jury better than Cryptic Dragon?
It's not.
We told you we'd rather have new fun things to shoot with our weapons we loved than to lose them and have to find new weapons. You didn't listen.
The Taken were a fun addition I grant you, but you ruined the weapons to where fighting them isn't fun.
And what's worse, you added the TTK content and rather than had the most playable content yet in the game, you -blam!-ing removed the old content.
We went from always running the same 6 Strikes to running the same 4.
PvP map rotations should have been epic with so many to choose from. Instead it's the same Cathedral/Frontier/Widows every goddamn match.
Blind Watch? Delphi? Anomoly? Asylum? Shores?
Gone.
I get that you get a lot of bullshit on these forums and I've cast my share of stones, but those of us who have been members of this community for years and who come here everyday to post are here because we love or loved this game as much as you all do and we want it to succeed and be great.
But when all our efforts, hopes, suggestions are forever met with silence (excluding Cozmo, he's been a bright spot), it's really disheartening.
And when dedicated players who've supported this game are locked out of basically all content unless upgrading, when weapons we've worked so hard and spend hundreds of hours to get are rendered meaningless without a second thought by your sandbox team, when the players that populate YOUR website and forums are second and third fiddle to the rest of the internet, it doesn't build bridges or bonds.
Some of us spoke up for you all for months saying most of Bungie are at work on Destiny 2 and that is where we'll see our changes if we do and we got shit all over for defending you.
Well here you are saying it now when you could have just said what was obvious to some of us back then and got in front of all the bullshit that's come since.
It sucks what's happened to Destiny and I truly feel bad for those artists, writers, musicians, and programmers that pour their souls into this game only to be betrayed by the ones pulling the strings.
Again, for all its flaws, Destiny was still one of the most fun games I've ever played. So why isn't it now?
Who is the one deciding to limit what we can run?
Who is deciding what weapons are allowed to be good each month?
Who is the one making the call to limit our marks, limit the #of Strikes that drop good rewards, lock content behind time-gated bs?
Whose the one who -blam!-ed over Fusion Rifles? Because they're the final straw that's pushed me to Forza since 2.0.1
Whose the one that made the call to gut Staten's work rather than trust him to know us and what we fans love? Especially reading that you're all trying to get back to his storytelling.
Whomever is the answer to those questions owes the rest of your company and this community an apology because they're destroying what in many ways still was and should still be the best game of the last decade.
I'm grateful that you wrote what you did and I really hope you don't face repercussions for doing so, because that honesty is long overdue and it's something at least I can accept and be willing to cut a little slack if you're being honest with us.
I hope this doesn't end up another 404Architect, that gets completely scrubbed from forum existence (and stop -blam!-ing pretending you don't censor the forums).
Respect is a two way street. We genuinely want to help make this game better, but that requires you all to care enough to admit when your wrong and accept our help righting the ship.
People pledge millions to games like Star Citizen that may or may not ever actually deliver. If you all were that screwed over on funds and needed more to put out content, maybe you should have tried being honest and talking to us rather than be slick with the Silver bullshit.
To proud to admit failure. To pig headed to turn to the community you spent a year trying to push away for help, so you make shit worse with all the microtransaction drama.
You want to fix Destiny? You want to repair your relationship with your fans? You want Destiny 2 to be the GOAT?
Start by cutting some -blam!-ing strings.
Peace.

Fake, that's allot of effort for a hardcore fan to make that and kind of creepy as well, but yeah I call fake.

FINALLY!!!! I have been waiting a fair while for Bungie to eat a slice of humble pie. But to say "you've pissed me off".... FCUK this guy/girl! We pissed them off? What about how pissed off I was lining up for the midnight release only to be shat on with absolutely horrid and sub-Bungie par design? I did not line up and pre-order to get home and play a freaking Candy Crush clone with guns included. After they released Vanilla they should have come out with this statement, I probably WOULD have purchased TTK just to help fund D2. If they had just come out and said "Hey guys, we cocked up the first Destiny, so sorry. Joe left, and then Mum raged at us because what we were talking about was hard for her to understand so we dumbed shit down and that was a mistake......." etc... I would have so much respect for them still. I might even feel sad that Destiny failed in so many ways, but no I'm still left feeling pissed off. All I'm going to say is that Bungie knowingly signed up with the devil........if D2 sucks, then they deserve to burn.

I have to agree with this, bungie was one of my favorite developers, and destiny was a well made game with great potential, at least it was, but there is so much lacking in the game that needs to be addressed, and I think Sols kind of touched base on that. Lets just hope bungie is truly listening, and the higher ups realize that the things they are choosing are killing off their fan base, and if they continue down the path of ignoring the fans and not even acknowledging them, those who are trying to help the game reach its ultimate potential, then it will die, I know there is quotas to meet, I know that activision has high demands, but isn't that all the reason you want to listen to the customers who and make or break the company has a whole? I love the game, but I hate the way they forced a ton of shit that the community didn't want onto them, and destroyed the things the community wanted to keep. They made efforts in adding new content, but left old content behind. my question is, what the hell were you thinking bungie? Lets destroy the communities interest, and kill the game? Lets piss off the fans who are the ultimate reason you get a paycheck? Instead of listening to the community, the company decided to do whatever the -blam!- they thought would make the game better, and there lies the biggest problem, they think they know what the community wants, but they don't, and it seems they won't listen to the community and what the community is asking of them, instead they go with the plans they lay out on the fly regardless of the disapproval of their customers who are paying for them to make the damn game in the first place. Lets look at this in a different way, in a totally different industry, say you walk into a store to buy a smart phone, and you want to buy a Samsung phone, but the employee tells you no, and says you need an iPhone, and s/he refuses to sell you want you want because s/he thinks they know what you want. most of us would walk out, some of us would tell him/her off, then walk out, a small percentage would follow through with the suggestion. This is whats happening now, just in the case of destiny, some jackass/es think he/they know what we want, and guess what, he/they doesn't/don't have a -blam!-ing clue and should just be fired for being incompetent. The community has requested features, content & improvements that bungie has ignored, like matchmaking in raids, or the ability to get high end gear without raiding, for those who, i don't know, CANT RAID because they don't know enough people, or live out in a rural area that doesn't get great internet coverage or it is extremely hard to raid because everyone has a life, bills to pay, jobs to keep, etc. The ability to turn on/off matchmaking on everything, the old maps back in crucible and new maps to make a vast array of different experiences in crucible, better multiplayer crucible matchmaking, custom crucible games, better balancing between the classes and sub classes, better balancing between weapons and can't forget, better server/connection stability, granted it has gotten extremely better then when it was first released, but its quite annoying when you are working on a mission, you are just about to kill the boss, and guess what, bam, you get kicked from destiny because of server issues. these are just some of the most common features, content & improvements suggested by the community, some of them bungie made attempts to make it better, but most of them were ignored. Ignoring your customers, who pay your wages, not the greatest move for any business to do. even if bungie acknowledged these ignored suggestions and explained their reasoning on why they don't believe it should be added, it would make the communities' respect and trust skyrocket from where it sits now. Well I could keep going on and on, but I will end my little rant here.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika eEverchanger: 1/25/2016 10:14:39 PMBungie gets paid to edit for a year but now that they're out of content to cut out of the game to re-sell, the company is in shambles. They lost all their Talent before this game was released.

1 Odpowiedźtotally agree that Deej's shit spray once a week is a complete waste of time when compared to simple transparent communication with the players similar to what is done in countless MMO's. dude admits Destiny is dead in the water currently. Only gonna be tiny things that barely anyone cares about, created by a tiny team of 2-3 peeps that can barely make a difference. Boosted up to six temporarily with the emotes and now that has dropped off and the team has dropped back to normal. Adding matchmaking to raids and Trials is something that is probably not even possible for this tiny live team. So this game ain't gonna get any better. Destiny 2 MIGHT be better but we'll see. The ONLY thing I hope for from this miniscule live team is another rebalance on the weapons and shortening the redonk RNG grinds for gear over 300. The vast bulk of players aren't doing raids or trials. Might as well give them some -blam!-ing satisfaction from their game instead of pure burnout loot grind and frustration that they can't efficiently participate in raids or trials. Loosen up the loot drops so peeps get consistent upgrades from playing instead of spending a bunch of time for no benefit whatsoever.

Thank you for this. Every word.

Fantastic Sols. Thank you for writing what so many of us wish to express. For all of its flaws, for all of their -blam!- ups, Destiny is a fantastic game. One of the best I've ever played. I love it, and I haven't given up hope that these mistakes will be remedied and that we'll see what this game should really be, in all of its glory.

Spring 2017?
-
Burmp. Good to know. If this is true, then there is some hope.

Good post. I know this, however; I will not wait until 2017 for Bungie to correct their errors with the release of Destiny 2. I already posted a blurb on how they've failed me; failed US. Destiny will slowly die for me and I'll move on to other games.

Regardless of whether this is 100% real or if it's some sort of publicity stunt, doesn't it almost certainly kill the player base until 2017? Other than some PvP what's driving any of you to keep logging in? Grinding PvE to hit max level when it won't mean a damn thing for D2? I'm not trying to be a hater here, I've defended Destiny within my group of friends the entire time. I'm the only one left coming to the forums, and the only one who at least plays the occasional Iron Banner. That being said, really, pack it up people. 2016 has some GREAT titles coming out. The Division, Uncharted 4, Overwatch... GAME ON!

Edytowany przez użytkownika gitbthegod: 1/26/2016 4:17:44 AMI call BS on that leaked shit. Thanks reddit for the bungie nerf. But seriously how many people have spent more than $15 usd on "silver" ? like seriously how many people ? therein lies the lie. another thing, I bought the initial game for $69 + DLC 1 + 2 for $29 and TTK for 49$ = 147$, plus it isnt my fault bungie gave destiny + dlc 1 + 2 as part of TTK.

Lol, after shooting Destiny in the foot by re-envisioning Joe Statens story so close to release, they are now trying to go backwards. The Iron Bar did a bang up job of screwing the entire game before launch. I did hair sim in Softimage on a 3 day budget...let that sink in if you use 3D rendering software.

4 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika D'Monsteur: 1/26/2016 3:42:54 AMOne thing I wonder is if when the supposed employee says they are pissed if it's at us, or the current state of affairs and management. Either way, I am in alignment with much of what you are saying.

That is obviously fake.

I took a break from Destiny cause lack of content and issue with the game. If a company is supposed to meet the demand of the supply they need to increase the product and add more employees. If a company made money and have exceeded the profit line then they can put it back into the company. But I think it's Activision who is making it hard for Bungie now based on that email/post to Reddit... With a contract can be broken if the agreement is not being met and for Activision not keeping their part of the agreement then Bungie need to cut lose with them...

Bump! Well written. Interested to see what Cozmo or Deej says in response. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it was along the lines of "We hear you and keep providing feedback."

Truly bravo. I agree with everything.

Bump nice topic sols :)
