Edit: this is trending and now contains a lot of fun discussion about cabal lore and future raid (you know it's coming, don't be ridiculous). Feel free to join in.
The cabal ran off like scared kittens because Oryx showed up. We killed him, proving we are even stronger than Oryx, so why in the hell would they come back? I can see it now.
[Cutscene 1, Destiny DLC #4 titled "Cabals to the Wall, Man".
Interior: Cabal imperial cruiser, luxurious chambers. Emperor Valuke Smi'ith sits on a golden throne throwing silver at a screen when one of his generals enter]
"Sooooo Emperor sir. You remember that hideous Hive beast Oryx that was so powerful we had to cut our losses and abandon our conquest in that little shithole of a solar system? Turns out he's dead!"
"Excellent news Val Tra'acksuit. How did he meet his demise? Did he come across those invincible blind thrall on the balcony perhaps?"
"Negative, Emperor sir. Apparently the guardians that huddle in the tower on earth became so powerful through the knowledge Oryx kept close that they managed to destroy him. In fact, they took a piece of the god that dwelled within him and made A GUN out of it. A particularly nasty piece of work if my intel is correct sir."
"Well then, with Oryx gone, there is nothing stopping our conquest anymore. You tell our boys to turn back and resume the fighting."
"But Emperor sir, these guardians, surely they pose an even bigger threat than Oryx himself, to have bested him and even the god he served?"
"Preposterous! This makes perfect sense because of ambiguous reasons hidden in the grimoire cards."
"Emperor, please! We will all die!"
"Lol y u mad bro? Let's go!"

The Cabal in the solar system are nothing more than a scouting party. The real Cabal army would/will one day show up with a massive fleet more powerful than Oryx's single Dreadnought.
-
1 OdpowiedźA cabal raid will make both sense and a ton of cents. The sky burner primus attacked oryx even though he knew it was suicide. Then his bond brothers attacked the dreadnaught for revenge. Neither of those two scenarios sound cowardly to me.

Edytowany przez użytkownika wheresmycheetos: 1/17/2016 5:10:00 PMI can see it now, Hallway of Phalanxes. Spikes on the walls and millions of phalanxes ready to ram you
-
I would hate a cabal raid, phalanxes slamming the shields into you and one hitting :-(
-
We're immune to being taken. Bullets n' stuff? Not so much
-
You know they sent a signal to the empire right? They're coming, and I hope you're ready Valus Ball'sakus.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Brokkr: 1/17/2016 12:52:51 PMBut the cabal didn't run. They did the most badass thing possible and rammed a ship strait into the dreadnought's ass. Then they attempted to blow the whole thing up destroying most of the solar system in the process. Bruh they were gonna beat Oryx before we were.

11 OdpowiedziA Cabal raid would be entirely logical. The only reason Oryx was so easily able to deal crippling losses to the Cabal outside of the Dreadnaught was the same reason they were quickly able to suppress the Fallen on Earth and usurp the Vex on Venus; they don't use the Light or Darkness. Guardian Light grants an immunity to the Taken, and without it species like the Cabal and Vex stood no chance. With the mightiest leaders and servants of the Darkness in the Solar System gone, the Cabal, Vex and Fallen should be able to destroy the Hive in most engagements. Another wave of Cabal is also coming, so with the Darkness out of the way the Cabal will be able to better pursue their war on Humanity. Expect an upcoming battle with one of the Emperor's best generals, where usage of Light/Darkness-related mechanics will be kept to a minimal.
The cabal ran off like scared kittens because Oryx showed up.
Is this french for rammed their ship into the side of the Dreadnought in a full bore suicide mission to destroy? A mission which they would have SUCCEEDED at if not for us?
-
2 OdpowiedziThe Cabal in Sol are only an expeditionary force. In all likelihood, they are the Boy Scouts of the Cabal Empire. No doubt the Cabal elite put the Cabal we've seen to shame.
-
3 OdpowiedziIs the final boss of the raid called Bullet Sp'onge?
-
A cabal raid would be annoying ass shit. All noses would have infinite rockets and you couldn't flinch them
-
Remember that SOS the Cabal sent to the head of the empire? Maybe the whole fleet comes to Crack down on the solar system. Maybe there are even stronger enemies and more high tech weapons that they didn't currently have stationed in our solar system.
-
The cabal didn't run One specific base evacuated because it was under heavy attack. After that, they directly assaulted the dreadnaught.
-
I'm pretty sure scared kittens wouldn't crash a spaceship into a Hive god's Throne World, and then try to blow it up.
-
I was going to make a joke about how the cabal armed their ship into the dreadnaught like Jared rammed his...
-
This is awesome
-
I have a theory Maybe the vanguard intercepted the cabal stress call that was sent to their empire, and decided to track it. So we as guardians are sent by the vanguard to actually go out of our solar system so we can attack the cabal's major bases, and eventually have to attack the emperor at their home world so that we can solidify our victory. Still just a theory

1 OdpowiedźWe can...... - summon lighting in space. -Come back to life if your a warlock -Pull over sized meat tenderizers from our ass if your a titan -Trigun style fire a flaming gun in space -some how forge bs armor that is border line magical -Oh our ghost brought us back to life all but if your an exo he just changed the batteries -in the VOG we can free fall from the 1st jump to the gorgons lair an not die,but jump half an inch of the ground while running or over a none moving car an die. All this shit an you wanna talk about making sense
-
6 Odpowiedzi"The cabal have six words for advance and none for retreat." The cabal are ready for the guardian's demise.
-
Maybe they pulled out bc they didn't have the resources there to combat? Or by us beating Oryx, it proved to Cabal leadership that the blight was something that could be beat by force and wasn't a disease that couldn't be fought?
-
And what about the ship they crashed on the dreadnaught? Or the distress signal sent to the head of the cabal empire? Plenty of scope for a cabal raid.
-
4 OdpowiedziIf we never stepped in the cabal would have killed oryx and there wouldn't be a dreadnought
-
4 OdpowiedziRan like scared Kittens??? Then why did they crash a ship into the dreadnought to create a beach head? The only running the brothers did was towards the dreadnought's Energy core... (And away form guardians of course) They also sent a signal to the leader of the cabal to start all out war! Thats why it makes sense for the next raid to be a Cabal one
