Why do so many people think that black spindle is needed for a raid?
I see many people on lfg sites looking for people with black spindle. Why? Ye I know that the weapon has great impact, but it doesn't really matter. Every time we die after we've damaged a boss in the raid, e.g. Warpriest and golgoroth, I view the dps made by each person.
With a 1000 yard stare, I did more overall damage than all of my other friends with a black spindle.
I read a post about a guy who had a 320 black spindle, then switched it to a rare 280 weapon, yet still killed the warpriest in two tries. This proves that no matter what legendary or rare year two sniper you use, black spindle is not superior and NOT needed for a raid.

Because of the DPS for boss fights. No other reason.

[quote]With a 1000 yard stare, I did more overall damage than all of my other friends with a black spindle[/quote] Then chances are your friends suck at hitting headshots and don't refresh their WoL buffs ;) With the 'spindle you should have zero down time and can rapid fire 23 of the highest impact sniper rounds available, and still have time to empty a clip or two or primary before the 'Priest summons the glowy deathness.

They have their 320 Black Spindles and I always use my 320 Sleeper, and if I don't hold the aura, I'm always doing the most damage. Like a lot more. And still the same people will ask why I'm not using it and I tell them, who the hell did the most damage every time? Me with my sleeper or you with you black spindles. That should tel you something. Black spindle is never needed and you do more damage with other weapons. People just never learn.

///sooooo you're doing more DPS than a sniper rifle with higher impact (more damage per round) and zero reload time?? That means the teammates you're comparing yourself to can't hit critical shots. Lol. I'm not saying that BS is required for warpriest or Golg, but your claim is not sound. That said, owning BS is a sign of commitment to people looking to run a raid with ransoms, same as ToM. In a vacuum (no other info available), that stuff matters along with light level which sort of shows how often you've completed the hard mode raid.

Proves to me that your friend can't keep hitting consistent head shots haha if you're good at hitting them, switch to a black spindle and you'll do even more damage. I personally don't care what people use. I think spindle is the obvious choice, but if you don't have it, we'll run it anyways. But a 320 BS has the potential of massive damage with the right setup. 23 bullets firing non stop..

It has the highest DPS potential due to it have the highest impact for a sniper and its ability to never have to reload due to its perk.

I do have the BS I just don't use it ! DPS means damage per second I have 1K YS with perfect role ( faster reload + Spray and play ) + raid hand with faster sniper reload + faster reload inside Aura = reloading in a blink In one round against the war priest I fire 23 sniper shots ( thanks to the chest with increase sniper ammo) + entire clip of machine gun + few shots of my primary weapon The overall Damage I do in 1 round is more with the 1K YS

I think it's needed by one or two who can hit the target everytime to make up up for anyone who cant. But if all can hit the target as long as the damage numbers are high enough, any sniper or heavy machibe gun will do

I have Triple tap, casket mag and firefly on my 1000ys so... I haven't used the Black Spindle in ages.

I have one but I do t need it. Black spindle can harm your dps on warpriest. I get more dps with my one thousand yard stare

Actually. Black spindle is not needed. It make it easier and does have more impact but 1000 yard state is just as good. So in year 1 Gally was mandatory for LFG Now in our LFG posts we think we need to prove ourselves so we say we have it Then people start thinking we need it. On the other side there are a lot of casuals that play the game and to do a raid with them can be hard, I stick it out until I know we can't complete it Like just now I was with a bunch of fresh 310's from warpriest challenge and it took 15 wipes on oryx didn't get past the first set of blights 8 people rage quit and then I called it

the only thing that will out dps a black spindle at the warpriest CONSISTENTLY is a sleeper combo'd with a 1kys (or similar sniper) unless the people you are with cannot aim. I'd post the link to this information but I don't feel like trudging through the forums to find it.

I out dps black spindle, but only when i use my 320 1000 yard stare, complimented by my 320 sleeper simulant. Thats some real dps.

It's not the impact it's the speed of it that matters, last I used my 1000y state it took me around 3 secs to reload. That's 3 secs I could be blasting at the warpriest. With the spindle you are now able to do more damage in a shorter amount of time

1 OdpowiedźBecause it's lfg. The less variables and risk with randoms with less than ideal loadouts. The better the chances of finishing the raid. There are other ways to do things but for most lfg teams the path of less resistance is the best. Same reason ghorn was a requirement for Crota. You could stagger him with almost any weapon but ghorn took out all the variables in timing for the sword bearer. Thus less chance for a mistake.

Black Spindle out DPS's all other snipers because you don't have to reload while criting the bosses. Get one, infuse to 320 and profit.
