This is a comparison of pre-nerf VoC vs. current Hung Jury (and we're pretending they have the same attack value)
Never thought I'd say anything like that, but it's true. The only thing that holds me back is that VoC is an elemental primary. But I still think Hung Jury has good enough perks to make up for it.
Triple Tap > Full auto
I know that full auto is a favorite of lots of people, but in all reality, it's convenient at best on a mid-RoF scout. With triple tap, hitting all crits will give you 23 total rounds in the mag (29 with extended mag). When you're a stickler for headshots like me, that's way better than full auto
Firefly >>> Zen moment
Especially with the addition of hand-laid-stock on Hung Jury, Hung Jury has the stability that a maxed out zen moment perk would give. Firefly is just incredible
Hunt Jury sights > VoC sights
This is just my opinion, but I love the combat sights and the iron sights on Hung Jury. I do not care for red-eye.
VoC does win out on mag-size and elemental damage, but I think hung jury perks are good enough to overcome it.

1 OdpowiedźThe simple fact that VoC has solar burn far outweighs the negligible points that you made. In pvp it could go either way I suppose but for PvE it's no contest.
-
Hung jury is my baby but so was vision. I with hung was semi-auto just cuz I'm lazy

For how I play this game, VoC in the current meta is useless. Hung Jury wins my vote for being a better choice currently but if I brought Hung Jury back to year one I would not be using it if it had Y1 damage output. VoC won when solar burn was on and in the Y1 meta. Hung Jury wins now because there are no Y2 elemental primaries, expect Zhalo, and VoC doesn't have Y2 damage values. Still will choose my PDX45 over Hung Jury any day.

2 OdpowiedziDoes hung jury have decent aim assist?

1 OdpowiedźHung Jury is, indeed, a better PvE scout rifle. VoC is still the best PvE Scout Rifle excluding exotics.
-
VoC was just nice for solar burn content. But I agree. Hung jury has a better roll. Firefly is amazing for clearing adds and triple tap helps extend a magazine. And if you think I don't know what's up, check my raid history. You'll be hard pressed to find a single time I didn't have the most kills by a lot, among by copious experience.

I think anyone who hasn't fired it for a long while might struggle with the rof.

6 OdpowiedziIn year 1 there was no better scout. Bring it to year 2 and it will out dps the hung jury

7 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Taniks! At the Disco: 1/15/2016 6:51:00 PMHow does your math work? With my Hung Jury I get 30 rounds and VoC only won out against Hung Jury in May size when field scout added to the mag

1 OdpowiedźTake it back....

1 OdpowiedźIMO, it is down to personal preference. I am using HJ for the past few weeks and certainly love this. Just yesterday night I was running VoG as part of the NTTE quest with a group of friends. I, for nostalgic reason pull out VoC from my vault and had a real good time using it. I realized I preferred the slightly faster RoF on it and how forgiving it is. Forgiving in the sense that I need to to alert myself all the time to proc the tripple tap and firefly perk on HJ which is quite difficult when you are dealing with teleproting taken tralls and fast moving enemies. I love both guns, don't get me wrong. If one is on a hunt for VoC in TTK, Cabal strike will drop Treads Upon Stars which is the closest to VoC. If you can roll it with any stability perk, you've struck a gold mine. Now, for PvP, I personally use a Gunsmith Tuonela SR4 with max stability, followed by Treads Upon Stars because the higher RoF and stability on these two guns I rolled with. I do sometimes use HJ, Last Extermity, IB Colovance Duty in PvP.

9 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Marshall: 1/16/2016 3:12:38 AMActually, you get 23 rounds if all are precision, not 21 (I see you edited your post). It starts with 16 (when using hand-laid stock and who wouldn't?). Every 3 shots gives you one back so it's only a net loss of 2. You can do this 7 times. 7 x 2 (net loss) = 14 After getting the bonus 7 times, you're left with 2 rounds remaining. 16 (initial total) - 14 (actual rounds required) = 2 7 x 3 (actual rounds fired) = 21 21 + 2 (remaining rounds) = 23 total shots And yes, I agree. The Hung Jury is the best PvE scout rifle that I've ever used.

Blasphemy

7 OdpowiedziClearly you're not a warlock main cause you haven't tried tlaloc

3 OdpowiedziI agree. People overvalue elements on primaries imho.

1 OdpowiedźWhat about solar damage .... Come on now,

1 OdpowiedźMore ammo in the mag is redundant when VoC has a pretty fast reload and even more so when paired with scout reload speed gauntlets.
-
Hahahhaahahaha at OP.
-
1 OdpowiedźVoC has a better mag without triple tap. That point is fairly invalid.
-
2 OdpowiedziSolar Damage > Kinetic Damage.

2 OdpowiedziVoc pisses on hung jury. I even prefer the non dead orbit branded version of hung jury to hung jury. Jury is overrated
-
4 OdpowiedziVoC is still the best Scout Rifle to ever grace Destiny. Hung Jury is certainly a great weapon but it's not better than VoC.
