Whatever Luke Smith was smoking, he made a stupid decision to not allow us to use elemental primaries.
Do you want us to get aggrivate and have to use two or three clips to take down one wizard. Sorry but I'd rather use a void primary that would take less time to take it down then using a kinetic damage weapon.
"Oh we want people to have more options for their load out"
Well sometimes, when your dealing with ten void enemies in the special Dark Blade strike or the special Shield Brother strike you really would rather have a void primary or a solar primary.
It's kinda dump how they took this approach now. They definetly wanted the gameplay to last longer that's for sure! I hope someone else in charge of Destiny 2 focuses on bringing back elemental primaries again cause it's tedious to have to use 3 clips to take down a knight with a void shield or a wizard with a yellow health bat and solar that takes ages with kinetic
Just have Luke Smith focus on raids. Don't let him ruin the elemental primaries and let them come back please!
Sorry about the "Luke Smith was smoking something" comment, but sometimes the decisions they do are poorly conceptualized
As someone who never had a elemental primary until I bought Zhalo from Xur, I am ok with what they did. Nightfall and POE were always annoying for me. Welcome to my world.

1 OdpowiedźAt this point in the dlc I think that it would be pointless. The main use for elemental primaries was to make the nightfalls easier to complete which they did a little too well. All year one players will remember how hard nightfalls were untill we had a mass pile of elemental guns and exotics in our vaults after several months of raiding. Compare that late in year one where it was easier to beat a nightfall than a normal stike because of the burns. PoE same thing until they changed it. Hopefully in the future we will get some new challenging content like the old style nightfalls with a few tweaks to make them more difficult and elemental primaries make a return. In the current state I don't see a benefit except for maybe those -blam!-ing flayers.
-
on a nightfall with arc burn, anyone not going to use zhalo if they have it??? yay variety!!! how about Etheric light added allows element choice? -still lets you pick what you want to use and which flavor you want it. (etheric light for tiny house rep is only slightly better than just deleting it, especially since any house rewards will just get deleted) -doesn't affect PVP at all so no whining there (although some pvper will figure out how to whine about this) -Kind of makes POE relevant again
-
I openly disagree.
-
i would rather see them bring the first two raids up to drop max light gear ( with associated harder modes) and remove the elemental damage from those specific primaries, just so that the old raids are relevant again. I would gladly take on those shielded enemies with kinetic damage if it meant we could do the old raids again for more than just nostalgic purposes

Disagree.

Edytowany przez użytkownika High Charity: 12/29/2015 5:00:05 PMBeen saying this since they gave their half asked reason - Make all legendaries and exotics have elemental burns. Raid and Exotic guns have constant burn, whereas other Legendaries can change burn based on their roll. Then, bring back reforging. But! Only for burn and the first perk. And up to a max of three (3) times per gun (you can choose between the three which to keep at the Gunsmith, after Rank 7).
-
Probably a bad idea, but I really wish all exotic and raid primaries would be elemental.
-
Maybe if the legendary elemental primaries were objectively worse in another way, like it uses up one of the perk slots and reduces one of the stats. That way you have to weigh whether the damage type is worth the downside.
-
They need to let us infuse are weapons with elemental damage how we would like it and make more like the Murmur so certain heavy and special weapons can change
-
I'd rather it be exclusive to some exotics. Makes them extremely unique and worthwhile over legendaries.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Selenophobia: 12/29/2015 4:53:28 PMSeriously. It doesn't add a certain challenge to the game Doesn't give us more options It's just irritating not having any primaries that can hurt a shield in the slightest While we're at it give us field scout back

Edytowany przez użytkownika Ricky Spanish: 12/29/2015 4:49:16 PMI like the variation in pve with primaries, and truly miss being able to run all element types. Maybe they should bring em back. And if they want variation, they should make a couple different ways to get them. Obviously people will prefer them in pve, who doesn't wanna be ready for any scenario? Kinetic is good for like, thralls and acolytes. Here's what we need- revamp vog, maybe prison of elders , a new pve event. Add several sets of weapons woth elementsl damage. Profit.

1 OdpowiedźOr do something about elemental shields. I have a feeling all this is happening because of the way they chopped up the game to sell it to us in pieces for more money.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Kill: 12/29/2015 4:53:56 PMMy opinion= instead of removing elemental primaries they should've made it where all primaries can be infused to a specific element burn. That would solve the "everyone uses same loadout" issue but we'd still have awesome weapons with burns. They could solve two issues with this, make it where if you infuse an old raid primary into a new weapon then you can pick up that weapons burn. BAM you just made old raids relevant again.
-
Treads upon stars with explosive rounds works great for solar burn
-
The thing is, when you have elemental primaries, then you will have 3 main primaries which have the different burns associated with them for an optimal setup. Then, you look at which guns perform best based on type, and it narrows down your gun choice to very few options. As well, it trivializes the content to a degree. Take for instance the Dark Blade Strike for the Exotic Sword. That strike would be significantly easier if you had elemental primaries. Its difficulty comes in because of all the shields and the lack of special and heavy ammo, which makes you play more conservatively. I think elemental primaries fit more with Year 1. I like Year 2, because there are a lot of differences that make not having elemental primaries okay. If they had not changed nightfall to make it so much easier, I would have really had a problem not having elemental primaries.

1 OdpowiedźThe no elementals anymore made the variety definitely wider, wich is a good thing. On the other Hand I feel your point and miss them too, elemental damage made some guns more special, getting them was more rewarding. My solution would be - keep the Trials and Raid primary's with their specific element - give exotics elements, what fits the best. - bring in a new item that only drops from NFs Raid and Trials that lets you put an element of your choice on any non Raid or Trials Legendary weapon. People would have more to grind for, Variety would stay as it is and we would have our precious elementals back.

8 OdpowiedziIf that happen there would be no reason to use heavy or secondary lol

With all of the other materials & currency in the game, I'm surprised that Bungie didn't add some sort of Element Material.

Yes please, so much fun!
