Everyone is saying it was game breaking and it was good to nerf it.
It was never used as a heavy in PVP only idiots used it. And in PVE it was the fun Boss killer that helped in making the grind m ore fun and endurable. Gally was the best balanced weapon of all times! It allowed you to enjoy your Bosskills. Who really cares if it too now 3 minutes less to kill a bullet sponge!? Now without it, it is just senseless time wasting shooting bullets.
No one should agree to this nerf... anyhow it is over now and you have to spend more time on stupid bosses.

Killing Atheon in 30 seconds is game breaking. Sorry. "People who quote themselves are idiots" - Seraph

It is good for pvp. A lot of people switch to it or truth when getting heavy ammo. I still see ppl use in in year 2 trials. It's dat gud
-
What's the point of a year 2 ghally? Useless in raids (except maybe for ogres) and like you said.. Not a pvp weapon

3 OdpowiedziIt was a fun weapon to use. Fun = Nerf! Because the top 1% around here want the game to be all about nerve recking challenge, cut throat competition and god tier skillz.
-
Pvp close quarters maps I laughed as I sent a Ghorn out. I used truth almost all the time though.
-
The nerf was about exclusion and solar burn modifier. But yeah, it was fun. And Bungie don't like fun.
-
Only idiots used it in PvP you say? Tell that to the woflpacks that will kill anything you shoot towards.
-
Play how you wanna play and Bungie don't mix.
-
10 OdpowiedziIt was nerfed because people couldn't get it and it was a requirement for most raids on lfg. Bungie said something along the lines of, "no weapon should be the go to weapon," which makes sense in a way. What I've noticed is that the weapons I use on a day to day basis varies a lot more than before TTK hit.
-
I can tell you the Ghorn should never come back. I am not sure of your history...but I started year 1. I have played with all kinds of players...good, bad, and horrible. I remember one day I was playing this guy..who I thought was REALLY good at Destiny. I didnt have the GHorn at the time. We were doing the Crota Boss....And he kept missing his rockets with his Ghorn. He goes: "Wait, do I have to actually aim my rocket at crota to make sure it tracks?" The entire Fire Team was like.."WTF, how come you didnt know that" He was one of those guys who would use a heavy ammo synth and jump around just randomly killing stuff. Ghorn was a lazy way of dealing with the game. Don't get me wrong...I miss nightfall with solar burns and using Ghorn...or using Ghorn on bosses...but I will tell you I much rather have destiny be the way it is now. It takes more skill.
-
Agreed! With the amount of grind it took to get, it should be the God stick.

I didn't get my first gjally until one week before house of wolves. I played this game religiously to get it. Nightfall, vog, and crota every week. I gave up hope to get it. Once I got it from hard crota I nearly crapped my pants lol. The only time I actually needed gjally was when skolas was on solar burn. I still dust it off from my vault every once in a while. Go to the moon and blow up enemies from great distances. I feel like the whole excitement factor of getting an exotic is gone now. Three of coins ruined that. I'm not complaining at all just a statement. Random question but has anyone actually got an exotic from Oryx? I've only heard of one getting a helm of saint 14 at 310

You're a little late brah

Edytowany przez użytkownika ZionFury7: 12/15/2015 10:44:40 PMThe Gjallarhorn made completing raids efficient and convenient. But the weapon was just oh soooo fun to fire and Bungie almost refuses to give the heavy weapon the credit and appreciation it deserves. The Gjallarhorn extended the lifeline of this game because it kept gamers a reason to keep grinding, thereby breathing continued life into Destiny, despite all the mediocre consumer publication rating scores, in game repetiveness and lack of story. Can't wait for The Gjallarhorn to make its glorious epic return!!!!!!!!

Its because of people like u relying on it
-
It wasn't game breaking. Crabs in a barrel syndrome is what lead to its demise. Too many people wanting to be able to dictate how someone plays a game they payed 120$ for is what led to its nerf. "Wahhh this other person is running strikes faster than I feel he should be allowed to be! buNgO plZ NrF!!!"

6 OdpowiedziIt was needed because on solar burn it made bosses too easy and even with it not coming to year 2 it would've still been a wrecking ball. But I believe the real reason it didn't come with us to year 2 was the elitism that was connected to it, VoG or Crota hm must have maxed gally. I got kicked from a few of my first tries to raid with lfg because I didn't have one. Bungie made a comment sometime ago saying they didn't want one weapon dictating who can run a raid and who can't. It was unfair to most players when others were requiring it when it was an RNG drop.
-
They've either removed or nerfed all the fun weapons in this game. Name a weapon that is still fun to use right now. Wow. They've turned Destiny into just another mediocre game.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Test the God: 12/15/2015 10:06:04 PM
It was never used as a heavy in PVP only idiots used it.
idiots huh.. Coming from a guy with a 1.0 k/d, I take your opinions with a grain of salt.

9 OdpowiedziYou don't understand the reason bungie did away with the ghorn. They were tired of all the endless "must have ghorn" posts that u seen like the must have malice posts u see now. The only way to circumvent the ghorn posts was to leave it out of year 2 weapons. What they didnt count on was the number of trash players still asking for ppl with specific weapons when the weapons arent needed to complete any game mode. Yes the malice makes it easier as the ghorn used to but if u need to rely on a weapon as a crutch to complete a game mode then u shouldnt play. Include everyone u can in your endeavors, help new players advance and build friendships. That is what veteren players should do. Not exclude players based on their weapon inventory.

I loved it in crucible, half the time I just shot at walls and the Wolfpack did all the work.
-
Wasn't cause of its power or anything, everyone said that you must have it or you can't join blocking a majority of the player base from completing things like Hard Crota, Skolas and Atheon. I helped those who didn't have it as much as I can
-
Game breaking? Nah, nothing tbh. The real problem with the mystical heavy was that it, much like ToM these days, creates an elitest attitude among the community. People thst had it believed they were better than everyone without it. It's not the weapons fault. You can blame this community for its shunned state right now. Also, as some people mentioned, when you raided, your load out would be thusly (in most cases) fatebringer/vision of confluence, blackhammer/icebreaker, and ghorn/hunger of crota. No weapon variety dulled the game.
