No More DLC Until Destiny 2 Confirmed
Shame that Kotaku article turned out to be true. Bit of a bummer to say the least

Saw this coming... No one believed me... As soon as Deej announced they were hiring for and expanding the Live Team... It had to happen sometime, the fact that they are trying to keep the player base alive and bolstered the entire time between game releases is amazing. Personally i don't think its a good decision... And using Micro transactions to do it is jumping from one bad idea to another.

1 OdpowiedźThey realized that their cash cow is these stupid kids who will buy emotes and sparrows. They can put like 2 weeks into making a new event each month and make double what they were making by actually releasing content rich DLC. Granted their DLCs weren't the best but they were getting there. Now Destiny is basically a cash cow like Clash of Clans. Expect more of the same.

17 OdpowiedziDestiny just died foe me. I don't care about paying money for more content, more raids, more planets, I simply don't care. But I won't pay a dime for emotes in exchange for shallow timed events, I simply won't. I did not collect a single candy from the festival of the lost, because it was stupid. And I will barely touch the races. I want planets, I want raids, I want weapons, I want gear. I'd pay 40 or 60 bucks just for a new raid alone, you hear Bungie? This is a stupid aproach.

My guess is the Live Team sits in a room with a dart board, 20 sided die, a case of silver bought beer, and just comes up with stupid shit. Maybe once in awhile a message comes across like "Nerf Pulse Rifles, natives are restless". Apparently that's all the instruction they get and then bring out Bobo the kinky(supposed to be monkey, but autocorrect may be on to something) to hammer out details. After that it's "tack silver price on it and deploy". An answer to all the nerfs would have been to make other weapons and supers competitive. "That's too hard. Get the dice and see what you can do, we will be dicking up Destiny 2"

We don't have a lot of spare money for games due to family, bills etc, so buying dlcs was great as we game share. If it is that they're going down the route of silver etc over dlcs, then me and my hubby just can't afford buying for the both of us, we aren't unfair on each other, so there's 2 players here that will be losing out if they don't release dlcs. Anybody who has money to spare probably won't understand but we don't have a lot, we both work, just don't have the spare to waste :( Bring back dlcs please Bungie!!!

What if our shaders, emblems, Silver purchases, etc. don't carry to Destiny 2? Then in the event model, Y2 is a regrettable waste, and that would make me sad.

I'm going to repeat what I commented on that article: If you considered that they are trying to make content for both old gen & current gen, I’m pretty sure Bungie hit a technical limits with old gen and are compensating with these special limited events that old gen can handle. The 2 planned dlc that Bungie meant to use for year 2 is most likely going to be push to Destiny 2 which will also most likely be on current gen only(and PC maybe?).

Ouch... Well, I was afraid of this. With no season pass or advertisement about additional content. But I figured they were just being tight lipped so avoid breaking any promises (which this community crucifies them for). I figured the contract and that leaked PowerPoint were definitely a future roadmap for the game. I had hoped that Destiny would be treated more and more like a proper MMO. But it seems we are stuck with a super casual MMO-lite FPS game that is now a yearly release, rather than an incremental grind. As of today, I have zero incentive to grind for gear. There's no benefit to being 320 outside of some competitive multiplayer events I don't participate in anyway (except for IB, I really want that warlock helm to finish the set). Even then, being 300+ is all you really need with the power curve. Without the need to gear up for future raid content or even additional hardcore PVE events/challenges, there's really no point. I will get everything eventually... So why rush, why do the raid every week, why grind for aesthetics? Yes, I'll play during the live events if they interest me. But I'd be more inclined if there were some kind of reward down the pipe for participation (similar to WoW's violet protodrake mount). I had given up WoW entirely for Destiny (and the PS4 in general). But it looks like I may go back to using it as a distraction when I get burnt out on WoW. I would have been willing to shell out a sub fee for a better game, but Bungie went the opposite route it seems. If Destiny 2 is absolutely amazing and everything I'd hoped the game could be, I'll be back with bells on... But until then, I'm pretty bummed. That said, I really do want to throw money at the screen... But not for holiday events and minor updates (and emotes). Bungie is monetizing the minor things that should have been in the game from the get go, instead of charging for real content (which I would pay a lot for).

Say thanks to all the whiney losers who bemoaned paying 20$ for a hundred hours of gameplay... I'd rather pay for getting content than have silly festivals funded with emotes. Ttk has officially died.

Our characters will transfer but only the class, level 40, and grimoire. We will start with all d2 commons. Maybe there will be some cool weapons but they will again be useless in the next dlc. They will change the economy a few times just to shake things up and to say hey were in charge here.

When this game launched they said there would be 5 dlc expansions. More lies I guess. I love this game but come on man. Enough with the lying already.

I don't necessarily classify entertainers as the working class. Hence my statement. Some people disagree, but my guess is that they are the ones spending the money their parents make at their real jobs to support the people that entertain them.
