Shame that Kotaku article turned out to be true. Bit of a bummer to say the least

What if we get to play guardians manifested from the darkness?

That article does not confirm anything at all. They would have made the headline for the article that for the specific reason of getting people to read it and share it, like you are now. If you read it there is no confirmation whatsoever that there won't be more dlc. All the confirm is that there will be more events AND content. Nothing there specifically states "no future dlc".
-
-
Oh man playing the same thing next year and getting crap rewards. No thank you.
-
Nothing is ever "confirmed" when your sources are the hack job artists at Eurogamer and Kotaku.
-
52 OdpowiedziHaha. Now the streamers will have to find a real job. And no, streaming is not a real job. Don't care what you think.
-
3 OdpowiedziIt's because they had all of the dlc made and ready before destiny even came out. I'm glad they parted ways with Xbox now they can just go stay with PlayStation.
-
Let's see what's up before we jump the gun, hopefully we will get some kool events in the interim, besides this is not confirmed as of now.

Edit: I also think it's hilarious that that article makes it sound like the community has been wrongfully asking for content... Not that the community has been withheld content...

4 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Sorjan: 12/9/2015 11:07:31 AMDid you even read the article or are you just throwing out more negative rhetoric.... Derek Carroll - "The way we're going is: you can expect new content from the live team in Destiny although we're not really telegraphing that. Certainly, players can expect new events and new content throughout the next year. We're taking it one step at a time." New events and new content, and he also stated he can't get too deep into other plans...he kept the conversation on SRL. So let's not all go chicken little.... Peace

I am very disappointed in Destiny. This is not a 10 year cycle. This was at best 1 year of timed content over 2 years. Now with nothing really new till Fall I will finally be forced to say goodbye to Destiny. I really wanted this to be the game I play and invest time in and it makes me sad to quit.

3 OdpowiedziIt's smart on their part I think. We can continue doing these monthly events until they release a dlc that is worthy. If it takes another year or two for D2 to come out. All the better. This way, we will actually get content that is new and a lot of it. I am tired of the same planets. We need new planets and enemies to fight, we need to see a new solar system. Destiny can't stay limited to what we have right now. So let them expand it and take the time to do it right. With that time, hopefully we get 4-5 new places to explore as well as 2 raids minimum. It could be epic. In the mean time, IB has been great, Sparrow racing has been fun, We are getting our old gear back to us. We'll probably have a roller coaster ride for awhile. But if it gives us something more in the long run, all the better. We don't want another crota's end or more lackluster story.
-
I'm actually fine with this. I've needed a bit of a Destiny break, so I'm glad I won't be missing anything once I start catching up on my gaming backlog
-
Well, it's for the better, at least this way you don't have to waste anymore money. I will most likely be skipping Destiny 2 cause they could never add enough in it to make up for the way Destiny unfolded on us like a pick pocket. It would have to be as big as the game is right now or bigger, they would have to promise no more DLC shutting off paid content. It's ratings would have to be 9's and 10's and I wouldn't buy it till it was out for a long while. Learned my lesson on the last one. Destiny 2 will never be able to repair what I believe they broke over and over again on their first attempt. Fans will buy it and that might be enough to keep it alive, and for their sake, I hope it does.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Obi Wan Macaroni: 12/9/2015 11:44:18 AMWhat a let down again.... Proves that bungie screwed it up... I had so much faith in this game when it was released, but nooooooooooooo. I spent 130+ euros for repetetiveness. give me 'The Division' already.

3 OdpowiedziDon't get me wrong, I love the Sparrow Racing League. I am having a blast with it and I am interested with what the Live Team will come up with next. But... That is not why we originally bought Destiny for. We bought it for the Story, the Guns, the loot, the environments, enemies, player interactivity... etc... The live events SHOULD NOT be a filler for the lack of content. And yes, there is a LACK OF CONTENT! This is lazy, and to basically say, '' We are gonna let Year 2 just kinda... fizzle out until D2" with no real explanation is not cool. Year 2 started off so strong with the taken king! WHY DO THIS!? MAKES NO SENSE!
-
I can't believe I'm saying this but, I want to pay for more dlc content.
-
What i got from that was: We have no idea what we are doing, we can only do one step at a time because we have no confirmed plans. Probably plenty of ideas, but nothing confirmed. Cosmetic BUT you can get the book for 10 dollars that allows bounties and specific gear. No timetable in these special events, which reinforces the previous statement of them not having a clue as to what to do next. So Live team is tasked with keeping us occupied while the rest work on D2. I also could not help but notice the dlc was cut out so they could focus more time on D2. Better answer may have been that they decided to add into D2 to make content more robust. This game is kind of -blam!-ed.

1 OdpowiedźI read that they pulled the last 2 dlcs to put into destiny 2. Upto their old tricks yet again.

1 Odpowiedź
The game is 15 months old. It's not fresh. The fact that Bungie is still adding elements to the landscape should be celebrated; Destiny 2 is around the corner and attracting new players will continue to be an uphill battle at this point. An ordinary developer would likely call it quits and focus on the future of the franchise. 15 months is a long time in this era of disposable gaming. Seeing the title start to fade in terms of population isn't something Bungie is embarrassed about. They're likely not even concerned. Destiny was the best selling title in the history of console gaming. Destiny 2 is sure follow suit and be a mega-hit. They could have just as easily rested on their laurels and pushed the content we have through next September. Playing this off as Bungie's futile attempt to keep a dying playerbase is incredibly myopic.
