"OH EM GEEZ! SPARROW RACING!!! YOU ARE SO AWESOMEZ BUNGIE!"
Is what we WOULD be saying.
HOWEVER!
The fact remains that you still screwed everyone over. You still sold a $60 INCOMPLETE game a year ago that got butchered and had missing components taken and repackaged to be sold separately as $20 DLC a pop. You did that twice. TWICE. So then it became a $100 incomplete experience because even with both "expansions" as they were advertised, the game was still hollow and felt more like a shell without absolutely any cohesion what-so-ever. It was bare bones.
Then you release TTK which you decided to sell for $40 and everyone is going on about how its such an improvement and that it makes the game complete. Really revving up that hype train for it. But guess what? IT WAS STILL MORE OF THE SAME CUT CONTENT FROM THE BASE GAME!
How... HOW does anyone get away with this crap? You took a $60 game and managed to squeeze another $80 out of it. And don't sit there and tell me that you've been developing new content for it because we already know you announced you had started working on Destiny 2 MONTHS ago. In fact if I recall correctly, it was already entering development around the time the Dark Below was released. I've NEVER seen a game drag out old content so much. Same goes for TTK, that content was in development before the game ever launched, Luke Smith said that himself in an interview.
And now Sparrow Races? First off, let's get this record set straight, it BEGAN with folks being suspicious and accusing you of CUTTING Sparrow Racing from the base game just like you did Player Trading and Gambling. It became all the more obvious to people when you decided to give everyone this thing: https://www.bungie.net/en/Armory/Detail?type=item&item=3703598457&itemname=EV-30%20Tumbler
In fact, GAMBLING was believed to have been a mechanic associated with Sparrow Races. This was before the game even launched, mind you. Its clear that this is just once again another example of cut content being recycled just like you're doing with the Year 1 Exotics. Just something "new" (not really) to toss out there for all the diehard "Dude Bros" to freak out and obsess over. This Hamster Wheel comes with all the bells and whistles.
Second? You screwed it up. Yeah, you really did. Because not only are you likely going to put a great deal of stuff for it in your in-game Cash Shop nonsense (Most likely all the things folks are actually going to want for it), but to my knowledge these races are going to be for TTK owners ONLY.
Its ridiculous. You're all about exclusion, its nothing but aggressive attempts to try and force people to spend their money. But here's the thing, people ALREADY spent their money. You have received MORE than enough for your product and instead of supporting the community and giving back the players, you just keep coming up with more and new ways on how to get as much as possible from the masses. Shame on you. This is NOT what Gaming should be about.
I said it before and I'll say it again. TTK doesn't get a free pass and neither do you. TTK doesn't get a "passing score" for being somewhat better than the shite that you sold throughout Year 1. ANYTHING would be better than that. No, TTK gets measured up against other games like any others. Matched up with Fallout 4, DOES The Taken King compare? Does the value of TTK for $60 equal the value of content that you get for the same price as this?
Trick question, the answer is no, it doesn't.
Destiny being an Online Game doesn't mean jack crap, at all. Destiny having PvP has absolutely no bearing on this comparison, either. We're talking straight up value. The amount of content in Destiny does NOT reflect its $140 price tag.
Dark Below and House of Wolves SHOULD have been free for Vanilla Destiny.
Sparrow Racing SHOULD have been included for everyone, TTK or not.
The Taken King SHOULD have been sold at $30 and the Eververse Trading Company NEVER should have been implemented. Ever.
Gamers aren't stupid, most of us are very smart and have VERY good memories much to the dismay of companies like Activision.
We. Never. Forget.
Its time you start doing something to take responsibility for all this crap.

1 OdpowiedźThis is probably why they haven't announced a new DLC yet. They've run out of cut content to re-packge, but they still gotta get more $$$ from their players regardless, so it's time to charge people for the best cosmetic stuff in the game

2 OdpowiedziBut still people trust bungie and buy DLCs, is that the problem

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika SwordOwl: 12/8/2015 3:07:52 AMI really want to love Destiny. Don't get me wrong I like it. I love the gameplay (mechanics wise) crave every little bit of lore they release. But in the end I always look back to what it cou-NO should have been and my heart breaks. I've already bought the Taken King (its worth its value, but not for what Day 1 players had to pay), and am trying not to pay for any more of what Bungie is offering until they add an amazing new DLC or a reputable new Game that can finally leave the limitations of last-gen consoles in the dust.

3 OdpowiedziDude you took the words right out of my mouth. What also ticks me off is that to my knowledge Destiny 2 is only for ps4 and Xbox one. I have a 360. Bungie is really ripping people off

5 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Hektik: 12/7/2015 3:24:31 PMSince my first reply to this I have found the answer to my query "does sparrow racing have a silver component". It does. So we have festival event, silver component. Racing, silver component. All cosmetic. These are the most recent "new content". All of which are fluff. No impact on the game world. So we're not paying to win, but we're also not getting impactful content because micro transactions would cause a meltdown. Fluff content to support micro transactions not support the game. I don't consider challenge mode "new content" because it's old content modified. Edit: forgot challenge was part of the $40 purchase. 3 week sparrow racing took development time away from fixing large issues in this game or creating game world impacting content. It's also steadily increased how much micro transactions cost. All in all this is a not good thing

Bungie really needs to learn when to accept defeat or go about things a different way... I know I accepted defeat in trying to make the most out of this game with it's lacking... well everything. And this whole microtransaction Ponzi scheming is just terribly asinine to say the least. In any case another good post Malphisto.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Acehunter25: 12/7/2015 8:07:20 PMDon't worry next year when someone takes the concept of Destiny and pulls a Frankenstein/COD on it and makes it the game it should have been destiny will die Bungie will fall to capitalism and then it will make a super great destiny FOR THE PLAYERS instead of for our wallets Games like The Division will be looking to take the spot for RPG Shared World Shooters, very very soon

Please include the fact that core mechanics have been worked apon on each dlc even if maps and story boarding existed before.

Here is some evidence to say that destiny wasn't actually ever supposed to have DLC's 1:in the first gameplay trailer for destiny, it shows Year two map called, the dungeons with an army of hive, but this was in the original trailer. 2: as shown in the video, old Chicago and also the bounty master goes on about many areas that AREN'T playable areas Also take a pic of this

8 OdpowiedziSo if you read the update they just put out explaining the record book more you'll notice there's a nice little line they put in that implies something interesting
Commemorate your SRL stats after the event is over
Why would I need to commemorate my stats if the event is coming back? Probably because it's not. Actually the word commemorate already implies death. To recall, serve as a memorial, remember, honor, etc. I may have my spinfoil hat on but it could say a lot about the future of sparrow racing

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika gallp13: 12/7/2015 9:10:44 PMHey Cos and Deej - what does Bungie make of this thread ?

11 OdpowiedziI've seen this stuff all the time on the forums, and to be completely honest I'm pretty tired of seeing it. Is it wrong for me at this point to say I honestly don't care? At all? I'm completely and totally aware of what destiny has been doing. I've spent hundreds of dollars on this game. I could argue that my investment is even greater than most people - I was a day one player, I bought a PS4 just to play this game at the start, and I hardly use it for anything else. I could make an argument that I've spent Five hundred and Forty dollars just to play destiny. And you know what? In my opinion it was worth every goddamn cent. I've never spent a dime in the cash shop destiny has, and I probably never will. I know the issues surrounding vanilla, the DLC that had barely any new content. But TTK is a step in the right direction. Even this event, with all the flaws you point out, is a step in the right direction. Don't mince my words. The second I feel cheated by Bungie, I'm gone. I'm never giving them another purchase after that. It just hasn't happened for me. I've met developers of this game. They love their creation, and they want people to play it. They don't want it to be a failure. FYI, about fallout four... I've played that for about 15 hours, and spent 60$ on it. Destiny, even if we assume I bought a PS4 just for it, I've played for 800+ and spent 540. Destiny seems like a better investment to me right now.
