I will preface this post by admitting that I don't play Destiny anymore. I never got TTK and I am incredibly happy that I didn't judging by the reception to the raid rewards. However, I continue to read the updates and post feedback because I once had high hopes for this game. Sparrow racing is a feature people have wanted for a long time, and it is a great show on Bungie's part that they listened and are adding it. To many people it's no substitute for real content, but as Lost Sols pointed out, perhaps their attention is on Destiny 2 and in the end we will get a better new game for it. I'm not going to argue that point. My issue is the microtransactions. There was definitely some outrage when microtransactions were announced, but it seems like nobody cares anymore. People bought it and many people said they were fine with microtransactions if it meant free DLC. My theory is that Activision or Bungie deliberately leaked to Kotaku that there would be free DLC, even though that was completely untrue. They deliberately misled their own customers to soften the blow of microtransactions. Why do I say this? Because when Bungie [b][url=https://www.bungie.net/7_Introducing-Eververse-Trading-Company/en/News/News?aid=13672]actually announced[/url][/b] Eververse, they said absolutely NOTHING about free DLC. They neither confirmed nor denied it. They let the rumors persist even when people were clearly arguing about it on the forums. Not until months later did the Activision CEO quietly announce that the DLC would not be free, and no such announcement was ever made here on bungie.net. And microtransactions were forgotten. That brings us to the sparrow racing. With sparrow racing Bungie has taken it a step too far in that they plan to make absolutely all of the cool items shown in [b][url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMKd7ZW_ub8]the video[/url][/b] microtransactions. There is only a single racing sparrow that you can earn for free, and everything else will have to be purchased by silver. How do I know this? But is it really okay when literally all of the cool items introduced are microtransactions? I say no. If all or even most of the cool looking shit is in microtransactions, then they are mandatory. Who wants to play a game where you cannot earn cool shit? This is not okay. The people who have bought into Eververse are horrible consumers who don't understand that for a game that cost $140 in the first year, you should be getting those cool items and emotes as part of the DLC that you paid for. Bungie and Activision withhold content so that they can sell it to you separately. Anybody who is still sitting on the fence about Destiny and Bungievision's horrible business practices should move on. This game is a joke. ----- I'll add that I consider it a bad sign for all of you Destiny fans that no DLC has been announced yet, and they haven't said so much as a word about the old raids and strikes. My guess is you'll have to wait another month or two for them to finally announce that they are bringing the old content up to TTK levels, and act like they are giving you some great gift.
