I plan to get an Xbox 1 this holiday season and am wondering if a 500gb system is enough or if I will inevitably need 1tb. I buy maybe 2-3 games a year and will never delete them and plan to have the system for ~10 years
Well when I delete a game is my progress and stuff in game deleted also or is it a separate save file? Like could I play halo 5 and beat half the campaign on legendary, delete it, re download it and pick up where I left off? Also approx how long does it take to download an average game from a disc and does that require wifi access?
Plus some of those 2-3 games that u will buy a year will suck and make u regret the purchase so u will delete it. If u really wanna play a that game u had, clear some space and re-download. Edit: PS4 point of view tho, I don't know how much space games and software take on Xbox one. If similar to PS4, consider my advice.

1 OdpowiedźDon't buy an external hard drive, instead buy an external hard drive dock, and buy your hard drives separately, this way you can interchange them easily.
-
If you're planning on getting a whole bunch of games, I would go with the 1TB edition or just buy an external hard drive like I did
-
1 OdpowiedźI have 500 gigs and 10 games downloaded so idk what people's problems are
-
I got a 500gbp don't do it. Get either 1TB and/or an external drive with more than 3TB
-
I've had my 500 gig for a week and have used over 40 % Plus the OS and updates take up like 75gigs so your down to like 425 before you log in
-
1 OdpowiedźWho voted yes? I've got 5 or 6 games on my One and I have 86% storage used. You'll need an external for sure.

I have about 60 games ready to be installed due to lack of memory. You will need an external. And if you get a tb eventually you will need another. Id recommend a 2-5 tb external.

2 OdpowiedziI just bought a 2TB hard drive for my ps4 for $85 and it's the best decision I've ever made. Sooo much space
-
Idk where you live but I think Best Buy is selling a 4tb for 100$.
-
Gamestop sells 3TB HD for about $120. Better than spending $50 for an extra 500GB.
-
Those free games added up space quickly.

8 OdpowiedziGet a PS4 because it's so easy to customize. Or even better get a PC
-
If you plan to play the Xbox one for ten years without ever deleting a single game (I don't know why you would, but ok) then a terabyte isn't even going to be enough. Should get something with more easily upgradable hard drive OR just build a PC that you can easily upgrade...
-
If you dont like deleting your games, 500gb probably isnt enough. I also have a 500 gb xbox. Only have 9 games installed and already used up 79% of space. And 3 of them are small games that are each under 10 gigs.
-
500GB held maybe 10 games of various sizes. You should know that the actual size dedicated to storing games is not 500GB. I eventually bought a 5TB. Which might be overkill, but it's a USB 3 so the loading times are a bit faster.
-
2 OdpowiedziI bought a 4TB external. Was rather cheap and I don't worry about space. Yes, it's an extra $70, but that doesn't compare to building or even buying a PC, so I'm fine with it.
-
1 OdpowiedźGet PC, use 4x 4tb HDDs.

I would buy a 500gb, then worry about getting an external when the time comes. I bought a 2tb for mine and love it, and I also like keeping all of my games installed. You can get externals that are pretty cheap.

Every game must be installed unlike 360 even if you have the disc. MCC for example is 60+gb and around the same for Halo 6 not saying that's what you are getting but it gives you a idea of the storage required, that's the maximum of the scale as I have older games that are 20-40gb (that seems around standard).

Get an external hdd. I got a 1 tb for $70 which is cheaper than the 1tb xbone per tb. There are also 2tb ones for about $100 making them even cheaper per tb. Over the life of the system .5 tb on the xbone and 2tb on an hdd should be enough for every game you really want (about 50 games of space).
