I pretty much exclusively use scout rifles because I prefer them. But I have seen a lot of zhalo and Suros regime personally.

I watche them run and gun me down with the sniper as I am trying to kill them. One shot and they have you. I am changing to sniper run n gun now.

I used my jade rabbit so a few people got smashed in the head by that beast and i got hit a lot by shottys

The problem is not pulse rifles, it is map size. I personally got killed by all guns. it felt like pulses were the most prevalent, however, again, that has everything to do with map size, not that pulse rifles as a whole are op. S

I got killed by scout rifles a few times and an auto rifle twice. Not once did I see a hand cannon as my cause of death.

At the end of the day I should have had better situational awareness and not got killed by anything. My 2 cents. Edit: As an example I got 2 phantom medals, one on frontier and one on shores of time, because I used the map to my advantage and took them out before they even saw me (and I don't use snipers).

Sure I was killed a lot of pulse rifles but I was scout rifled, hand cannoned and auto rifled.
