What is more important to gamers?
So if we took Star Wars: Battlefront and took EVERYTHING away from it that comes from Star Wars (the heroes, the character/ship/gun/planets models, and sounds) and just left the gameplay (the way the guns/characters/ships handle, the star cards perform, and map design) you would be left with a game that looks beautiful but has absolutely no content. No one would buy it. Is that what is really important to people? Graphics above all else? Or is it just franchising?

5 OdpowiedziEA games no longer start with "It's In The Game" it's now "It's In The Season Pass"
-
I wouldn't have even thought about picking it up if it wasn't Star Wars. No real campaign, it's got a few cool pvp modes, and there's not a whole lot of single player options. (75 stars isn't impossible to get in a couple weeks) I'm a huge fan of the franchise and pretty hyped for the new movie. That's the only reason I got it.
-
1 OdpowiedźGames look cool nowadays and give the illusion of content but most of its cosmetic. Lazy developers
-
I'm pretty sure that Star wars battlefront was intended for casual gamers and fan of the franchise with beautiful graphics, and total immersion in the star wars battle with near perfect sound and visual. It's not a game that would kill Destiny. The only thing that would kill Destiny is that if Bungie did not care about the game and that's not going to happen.
-
That's what's so great about Destiny. Yeah, it has issues, but the gunplay is solid. No other game right now is quite as fluid, dynamic, and well designed with the mechanics (with the potential exception if Halo). It's what Bungie is good at. Sure, the game has problems. Balance will always be tweaked, and the loot system constantly gets adjusted. But the foundation of the game; the FPS, is very good. As long as the rest of the game can continually be improved, Destiny will always be fun to play.

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika ThisMahSwamp: 11/19/2015 8:55:55 PMIt's the promises that are made. I think it is fair to say we all knew what Battlefront was going to be: Battlefield with Star Wars characters. That's how it was advertised, and it delivered on that front if you ask me. I knew what I was buying. Destiny is a different story. I think it is fair to say that the vast majority of people who bought Destiny back in 2014 thought it was going to be open world and have an expansive and engaging story, with PvE and PvP activities to boot....because that's how they illustrated it to us. That was not the case. What was delivered was VASTLY different than what was illustrated to the end user. THAT is why people were upset over the whole "no story" and "no open world" stuff. The issues continue with Destiny though. Multiple advertising campaigns for TTK illustrated a bunch of cool and engaging exotics. Where are they? Time gated? Look, I could go on and on about this, but I'll stop here. Make a promise and stick to it. Don't show us stuff that we cannot obtain....it's the same old Destiny cocktease.

24 OdpowiedziYou say this and then play destiny the most empty content lacking game on the market.....
-
14 OdpowiedziYou just described Destiny.
-
Yeah battlefront is like a reincarnated Destiny year 1, but with even less content but more money grab.
-
8 OdpowiedziIs battlefront had nothing to do with Star Wars, no one would care.

1 OdpowiedźBut.... Lasers. Lasers, dude.

5 OdpowiedziLook on the brightside. The ps4 will be getting an emulator to play ps2 games. If so, maybe we could get the SW Battlefront 2 game. With online, that'd be the bees knees

5 OdpowiedziBattlefront feels a lot different from battlefield. I don't know why people are saying they play the same. Battlefront feels like a true battlefront to me. They nailed it in my opinion.
-
I think your asking to take a bit too much out. The same gameplay, just not star wars related at all. Imagine bears vs iguanas or something. Maps, heroes (not with lightsabers ofc), and ships not designed as SW related ones. Take all of this and play the game? Hell, I'd stay play it. The gameplay feels awesome and the SW theme is a bonus

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika NeuroticExodus: 11/20/2015 10:50:43 PMI believe I already commented on this post, but I agree with OP. That battlefront is lack luster, however on the back side of that same coin, Star Wars is home to strong fanboyism. Guess what I'm hinting at is, I believe battlefront is one of a few isolated cases where companies cash in on fanboyism, and I hope that with the relative* success that battlefront will have at selling that games devs and producers don't get the wrong idea. Content and the quality of content should always prevail when making a game.
* is used, as to gaming companies sales are what make a game good. Whereas from the gamer perspective it being able to buy a game with good quality content (and plenty of content at that) and be happy and satisfied with the product. Hence that games that are just cash ins experience relative* success
I made a very poor choice of spending $60 on that game... It's an arcade game with nice graphics. No character development, just mindless killing and shooting.
-
Let's all meet up at rahool for a candlelight vigil to commemorate the early death of battlefront

3 OdpowiedziThere isn't much there, got it because of starwars. Will say I enjoy the pvp better then destiny. Why can't we have diff game modes in destiny. Like primary only, no supers...... I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy for wanting different stuff.
-
2 OdpowiedziIf you took destiny and took everything out of destiny that made it destiny like characters, weapons, vehicles, etc and left the way things handled then you would be left with... Actually you would pretty much have the same game.
-
Seriously Rahool? Everyone already gets angry with your engrams, and right now...
Im trying to save your life here. RUN!!!!
2 OdpowiedziFor a PvE experience, Destiny has delivered a good time for me. For a pvp experience... I just couldn't get it. If you strip the paint off of Battlefront, you're still going to play a game that's pretty fun in the pvp world. I only really play supremacy, walker assault or squadron. I like the large battle feel, I like the blasters hammering down on locations, the random orbital bombardments, people learning to use cover and jet pack mishaps. I hate the poor spawning zone locations, poorly placed turrets, card system, customization?! And some vehicles that are just useless.
-
5 OdpowiedziUmm, you took away every aspect of the game and left it with the bear basics; if you where to do that to destiny then you would get almost exactly the same thing.
-
2 OdpowiedziThat's like saying Lets take away supers and the ability to change to any weapon at any time in destiny... What r u left with? Sub-par graphics, 30 fps, and still aweful gameplay.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Automatic2209: 11/20/2015 6:46:59 PMIt's really just a more enjoyable PVP experience. More game modes and things to change up, and a more enjoyable PVP progression system. There are hundreds of things to unlock. When I'm looking for an all out warfare feeling, I play Supremacy. 20v20 Destiny just doesn't offer that feeling. You can also hop in a ship and fly around or a few vehicles. Destiny doesn't offer ship battles or vehicle combat. In Destiny, you don't really unlock anything in crucible so it's just kind of meh. When I'm looking for my objective based small game modes. Droid Run or Cargo are very satisfying. Droid run is like Control except the control points are droids and the constantly move around the map slowly. Cargo is like CTF where each team has a flag and they have to attack and defend at the same time. Destiny again doesn't offer this. When I want to play Juggernaut type game mode, I play Hero Hunt. Destiny doesn't offer anything like this. Battlefront is just a more enjoyable PVP experience with a lot of different ways to play. Destiny it's pretty much all the same thing. Control style game modes or death match style. No vehicles, no fly able ships, no heroes classes. It's just kind of bland after a while. Now PVE wise, Destiny obviously wins but I can finish hard mode raid in about 2 hours and then I'm done for the week. My Titan is already like 216 or 217 when I have all my top weapons equipped, so I'm kind of like meh.
