Just had my luckiest RNG moment ever, AMA
I was about to get off for the day when I looked at my inventory and saw that I had 7 3oC left, so I though "eh, I'll just do the Undying Mind strike and use them all on it. I can buy more tomorrow." I chose the Undying Mind because I've been trying to get Imago Loop for a long time now, but at this point I was kinda doing it as a bitter joke because I knew I wasn't going to get it.
So I run through the strike. The two randoms I got paired with were pretty good and we got to the boss quickly.
I use my 7 3oC thinking "It'd be nice if I got a primary from this."
We kill the boss fast too. I see 2 blues, a legendary, and an exotic drop.
I get the blues first. Then I pick up the exotic. It's a primary!
I'm already thinking "sweet!", then I look at the legendary for a second and lackadaisically walk up to it, certain that it was gonna be a class item or boots.
I can't believe my eyes. It's an Imago Loop. Outlaw, explosive rounds, and reactive reload. It's on my hunter now if you want to see it.
I slam the controller down and walk out of the room in utter awe of what just happened.

The engram gave me a 310 SUROS, btw.
EDIT: Apparently it's a HUGE deal that I "wasted" 7 3oC by using them at the same time. Why would you get mad over how I use my items? I had plenty of strange coins in reserve and I've already bought 30 more 3oC's since this, so really there's no reason to go crazy over this.
Btw, they do stack like that. They do have a cumulative effect, but that's not what the description is referring to. The word "stack", in relevance to this game, means that you can use multiple on top of each other and increase the item's effectiveness. Think about DoT perks on guns and classes, and how they usually say "can stack up to 3 times". It's the same meaning as that. If 3oC's weren't meant to be stacked, then you would get a cooldown timer after using one. Why do you think it's the only consumable that you can use more than 1 of at the same time?
Either way you're overreacting.

Every weekly reset do 2 heroic strikes and on the third strike use a 3oC as you spawn in, after killing the boss chances are you will get 1 or 2 exotic engrams from that ultra.. I have gotten 2 exotic engram's from a single boss for the third time each week. Lemme know if it works for yah

1 OdpowiedźThey do not stack like that... The effects stack I'm that if you use one and it doesn't net you an exotic after killing an ultra. The next three of coins you use has a better chance to give you one. This has been tested and known since about week 2 of TTK

I'd use 20 ToC if I knew it'd get that Imago roll and a 310 exotic. My imago loop is unimpressive, although I do really like the feel of it. I'm tempted to attempt to farm for another one.

6 Odpowiedzi3oc do stack and the more u pop the better ur odds are. Yes u can do them 1 at a time. But if u do pop 5+ u almost always get an exotic. I know what I'm talking about. Go ahead look at my charters and say I don't know what's up

8 OdpowiedziThe way 3oC works actually has to do with killing an ultra. If you use one or three or twelve 3oC, it doesn't stack until you kill an ultra, and receive nothing. Then you use another 3oC and it invisibly stacks on top of the one that was used but didn't give you a drop. Rinse and repeat until an exotic drops, then it resets.

Congrats, man! I got the Imago Loop the other day and didn't even know it was a strike specific drop (only recently returned to Destiny). Huzzah! From my research, however, I gotta agree with the folks in the thread you advise against stacking 3oCs. I get a good drop rate from them and never stack them like that. The stacking refers to using one, getting no drop and on the next coin, the percentage for a drop stacks. Anyway, who cares? You got the goods and seem quite happy and that's all that matters. ;)
