Should Bungie be going into Panic Mode??
Okay to start, I DO realize that it has only been a few days since BO3 came out, and only a day since Fallout 4 has been out... But is the lack of people online going to be the new norm? Should Bungie be panicking right now?? My friends list has effectively been reduced from around 60-80 people on Destiny at peak hours to about 10.
I get it, as I said above, that these new games have only been out a very short time.. But there are even more coming out soon, the main player being Star Wars Battlefront. And these games provide loads of new content for gamers to play. So I again pose the question.. Is Bungie worried about losing a vast majority of their player base? They sure do not seem like it.
Was Eververse a quick cash grab because they saw this coming? Or do you guys think Bungie has some way to compete with these new title releases and make Destiny desirable again. Because as of now, the truth of the matter is that Destiny is not desirable to play. PvP is fun, but that is about it. All the content is stale and the reward system is still completely screwed.
I personally am worried for this game I love so much. Please, give us something to make it worthy for us to stay! That does not mean some stupid single time gated exotic, or some special daily heroic mission to unlock a single quest. Give us our Year 1 exotics back! Make them relevant. Do SOMETHING. Destiny, in all it's glory, is no fun to play alone.
Here's to hoping Bungie has something up their sleeve, and reveals that something ASAP. B/c up until now, there has been no signs pointing towards Bungie making a run at keeping its players.

1 Odpowiedźi think this is the first time i actually see. the combination of "is destiny dead" and also having nobody on my friendlist, even die hard grinders. This time its forreal. i think at the time destiny came out, other than bloodborn and dragon age i really didnt have other games to play. but now, games with extremely good quality are coming out. It's not that these games "beat" destiny, it's that destiny never was the amazing game people wanted it to be. i dont think anyone can deny this. Once the numbers seep into bungie and the devs, and the unwillingness of players to come back and check out new updates, I GUARANTEE you they will make an amazing sequel. So far tho, they had little incentive to make a better game because of thousands of fanboys defending it and also people playing. But I think this is the first time where my friendlist was empty and for a very long time. I joined in very late (last week) and all my friends are already done with the game, period. usually they would play for weeklies etc, but once they hit 299-305ish, they havent even logged on for almost two months. this includes alot of online friends i made as well

Panicking? They're probably celebrating. Lower server and bandwidth costs mean more profit.

Should be fine. Activision are happy with their performance. Keeping people addicted to fps while cod was in a slump

1 OdpowiedźThey're probably focused on destiny 2. That seems to be what happened after they gave it everything they had for vog. After destiny went downhill, good adjustments, but still lacking content. They have our money, they probably could care less now.

Everybody I know stopped playing. Because of the never ending raid bugs and the horrible loot drops. They said what happened in VOG wasn't going to happen again. Where at here we go again. So people are just walking away...

Bungie has implemented a "refer a friend" scheme in a desperate attempt to up the numbers due to people dropping Destiny for better games. This is the only game I've ever known to use this desperate tactic and I've been gaming since the late 80's.

My friends list went from 30 people playing destiny. To 5 people playing Destiny.

I for one am one of the lucky few that got the XBone bundle that includes the ability to play more than one game. Contact Microsoft if you didn't, you got shafted

My friends list seems to follow this cycle, just after school/work ends everyone plays fallout. About 1-2 hours later we do raids or crucible. Repeats every day.

Also, their publisher (Activision) has a lot invested with BO3, so I'm sure no one cares. Switching to BO3 is not a threat, it's exactly what they want! For now...

Bungie should panic about the fact that we know they sold a game into three parts that was supposed to be one game. That's what they think of you as a sucker and if you continue to play they feel they made the right decision and will nickel and dime you to death with more cut content and micro transactions that should be in the game without paying more. They deserve for us to walk out in them and not look back. Let them rob a new class of players. As for us we can't play this boring,repetitive game anymore.

2 OdpowiedziWhy would they care? It's about your money, not how frequently you are entertained. People have already paid. What's important is how many buy new dlc/expansions. The reduced traffic might even make it easier for them to work on things.

Bungie released originally when there were no releases, and all dlc followed. TTK was also released before the November rush because they could again get a quick buck(or40) without competition. Once the hype and others games settle, Bungie will hype the new dlc inside of a lull zone.
