Why does everyone think 1000 Yard Stare > Black Spindle?
So I've seen a lot of posts about how 1000 Y.S. is better DPS than B.S. However this is impossible: the black spindle effectively has an 18 round magazine that you don't have to reload. Over the course of firing all your special ammo, BS will get more damage done in a given period, eg the damage phase on Warpriest.
Seems to me the people claiming otherwise are just those that couldn't clear the final room on the BS mission...

Edit 2: I am talking about DPS here, not general utility. BS isn't made for being good in loads of situations, it's made for massive DPS on bosses and big targets
Edit 3: people don't seem to understand: [b][u]I am only talking about DPS[/u][/b]. I don't care that it's legendary/more versatile/whatever, I'm making a point that in terms of pure DPS, the best that TYS can do is come close, and that's if you have a perfect rolled sniper and armour.

Combine spray and play with faster sniper reload speed on your arms, which causes the reload time to be under 1 second full animation. The 1000 yard stare has i higher overall damage output because of the faster fire rate. Only reason the Spindle wins most of the time is due to the reloading problem. However, with the right setup like mine and you can effectively cancel out that small issue and do more DPS than a Black Spindle. Hope this widens your perspective just a tad. I have tested both weapons at 310 and the 1000 yard stare did alil over 800k dmg more than the spindle to Golgoroth in the end. I am a decent enough player to get consistent results, so i am confident with the outcome. Conveniently not using the spindle allows me more flexibility in loadout choice. So there's that to consider haha.

I don't have the spindle so I can't really say. However I've done plenty of raids where during warpriest I do more damage than players with the spindle. I'd rather use 1000 yard stare with a exotic sword even if I had it.

ive got 25 rounds on my 1000 and always get precision shots on WP, daughters,, oryx, too. I end up doing more damage than most of my fireteam alot of times

1 OdpowiedźThe main issue people have is that they can't consistently hit crit shots and the reload isn't great. Also My spindle is 310.. My 1000 yard state has will of light and is 316 I think. And it makes me a light level higher, therefore yes I will use my 1000 yard over my spindle. I still out dps everyone on the team.

It's straightforward. To find out which of the 2 are better, consider the following: 1. Is it a dps race? a. If yes, Black Spindle. b. If no, 1000 Yard Stare

I liked 1000 Yard Stare until I got Defiance of Yasmin from my second Raid run. Warpriest door: Smite of Merain, Defiance of Yasmin for Boomer Knights/Wizards, Dark Drinker for if sword knights overrun the Totem plates or killing mobs between plates. Warpriest: SoM, DoY, Darkdrinker for knights/major knights, switch to Sleeper Simulant for Warpriest dps phases. I do one clip of sniper, then switch to SS for 2 clips (6 shots) then back to sniper again, Smite if there's any time left. Golgoroth same as Warpriest but DD is just so I can get a full SS clip off one heavy ammo box. With correct Stormcaller set up, I have Super full after every time we dps Golg, so I clear all thralls and most of the acolytes one whichever side I'm on for many orbs for my fireteam. Daughters and Oryx I go with Touch of Malice, Defiance of Yasmin and Ruin Wake. RW is for my Ogre first (I take back-left platform), DoY the opposite Ogre, ToM for everything else until we go into the bubble to fight the Echo, in which case adds get the RW. DoY for the echo, usually dies super quick. RW Oryx when he's on that last fraction of an HP, no problem. By itself DoY is not as good as 1KYS or BS (don't have it) but with ToM/SS the cacoon perk is badass. I really want the Raid hmg but so far no heavies have dropped for me.

Because with 1000 yard and sleeper I can keep up with spindle in the raid.

1 OdpowiedźDepends on the fight! Black Spindle is a pure crit dps weapon. If you can get constant crits, it wins. I love the feel of my stare with the ambush scope on it though. It's a snappy weapon with high damage, and mine rolled will of light with spray and play so that's a huge plus.

2 OdpowiedziThe only time we should be talking about these two side by side is the raid. Your spindle should be equipped for Warpriest and Golgoroth. Your Touch of Malice should be equipped for Daughters and Oryx. If you aren't doing this you are not maximizing your damage.

But my favorite loadouts are For no reloading time and most dps 310 Smite of Meran 309 Black Spindle 308 Quillins Terminus OR For best survival and the most rewarding 310 Red Death 310 1000Y.S. or defiance of Yasmin 310 Quillins Terminus

Why does it always have to end in "because I'm better than you" mentality of a 12 year old OP. Personally one of my 1000 yards holds over black spindle because switching between weapons on sections like 'war priest' can be just as effective - leaving other exotic slots open! #saltypeoplearedissinghisspindle?

I've actually had a guy try to say that impact doesn't effect damage, but fire rate does. He actually thinks 1000 Yard Stare does more damage than Black Spindle.

Maybe because it's legendary and u can use an exotic like ToM. And it still puts out crazy dmg. They aren't saying it actually puts out more dmg (from what I've seen)

Yeah right. I'm gonna keep using my Hung Jury / Spindle Combo for the Raid.

I think people like it better because of the larger clip and it doesn't require you to be as precise

3 OdpowiedziI just dont like it taking up the exotic slot. I much rather use bad juju or malice with the raid sniper and do slightly less damage on the bosses but be able to handle all the adds so much better.

1 OdpowiedźI can't really disagree, but I can attest to myself putting out more dps on the warpriest and golgoroth in every fireteam I'm in with my 1000 yard stare, even if someone is using black spindle.

It's all situational also. If you can effectively rapid fire critical a you're doing good with spindle. If you miss one here and there you will lose a good portion of dps to reloads. Nobody is perfect and most of the dps comparisons are done on a boss with a giant crit spot.
