People are going to hate me for bringing this up, and I doubt that Bungie doesn't know. I'm already sick of this cheese for the Oryx fight existing. I was one of the very few people that refused to cheese the Crota Raid back in Dark Below. I felt it took away from the games essence and was obviously an exploit that was ruining my gaming experience. Today I was attempting to get a spot in an Oryx CP, as my previous raid group would not even attempt the Oryx fight without using what they called the 'No Knight Strat'. So I looked into this strat on YouTube and its an obvious cheese method, for a very straightforward fight. I have no idea if there are more people out there that agree with this, but having people tell me that I must be a certain light level to join their raid is one thing, but to tell me that I have to cheese it is Dark Below all over again, and I will not have it. Just thought I would have a little rant, as this is really starting to tarnish my once again growing appreciation for this franchise.

1 OdpowiedźNo cheese it's just a different strat like running mid on crota instead of left. Personally I like normal strat better but if no knight works better for some good for them
-
Ugh. It's NOT cheese! It is no different than going to the middle platform on crota. It's a S-T-R-A-T-E-G-Y. Frankly, it seems harder than just doing it the normal way and sniping the knights.

Edytowany przez użytkownika rums271: 10/29/2015 5:14:20 AMEveryone has their own way of doing things. The 4 times ive beaten oryx its been with the no knight strat. First time last week took like 3 hrs cause we were all 308/309. Today i got a grp together all 310 and knew the strat well. Beat oryx 3 times in the space of 2 hrs including wasted time at tower and changing characters. As long as the grp is good. Either strat works well

2 OdpowiedziDid you kill the boomers on hard Crota? Then kill the wizards? Didn't realize choosing when to kill and what not to kill was a cheesing oh grand master of raids. Set your console on fire and dont come back
-
3 OdpowiedziConsidering the no knight strat is actually more difficult then just doing it normally, I'd say cheese doesn't describe it. It's an alternate strategy, not a cheese.
-
It's not even a cheese lmao ur still following the basic concepts of the fight but a little twisted quit whining and get used to it
-
1 OdpowiedźYou was a dumpster baby huh?
-
A bungie rep already said it was a nice strategy when the video was posted.
-
Solar grenades, self res to de-spawn add and lag switching are exploits. The no knight glitch is not an exploit! You are using another weapon rather than your own to kill those Knights. I guess you just shoot Oryx until he's dead though right? Lol.

It's not a cheese. It's a -blam!-ing strategy. And if people wanna complete oryx that way...they are more than welcome to beat it that way. It's easier in my opinion. I was with a group last night and we only wiped abot 2 times on oryx doing this strategy. My first time the normal way, it took hours... So whatever strategy makes the fight easier is fine with me... It's not a cheese, because it still requires a lot of communication and it still has risks. If someone dies detonating their orbs, then it can screw up the entire team. You aren't doing something that makes the fight impossibly easy... So stop calling it a cheese. It's not like you're making oryx fall off the map, or using warlocks to self rez all the enemies away! It is a well thought out strategy, and if your team knows what they are doing, it can save time on the oryx battle.

1 OdpowiedźI've haven't done it but how is it cheesing?
-
1 OdpowiedźActually Bungie has replied in another post saying it was a smart strat. So good luck getting it changed when the developers think it's valid.
-
Actually had a dumbass tell me that any way of doing the raid easier is a cheese. A cheese would be more like a way to go in a corner where somehow u can't get shot and do the whole oryx fight like that. It's just a different strat. If you don't want to do it that way it's up to you tho. Bungie knows about it and gave the guy props for finding a different way to beat it
-
It's a horrible strat... The normal wAy with Knights is way easier
-
I don't see.it as a cheese. But I don't like the strat. It's too inconsistent and it's easier to do double bubble or blessing and malice and take out knights. Doubt I will ever do the no knight strat simply because it does not intrigue me.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Itz Bullet32: 10/29/2015 4:03:14 AMThey should have it where ogre blows up if not killed within 10 seconds. Haha wonder how much people would fail the raid then I forgot to say if ogres blow, it up wipes the team
-
Not a cheese, just a different way like the other strats I've done. There is this one you speak of and the normal way. There is also the one with a titan bubble in the center and killing the ogres straight away and knights. I've done all of them. So far the strategy I liked the best is the titan bubble in the center, (not on the platforms). I don't run with a clan or anything except random people. I just go with whatever they're comfortable with.

18 OdpowiedziNot a cheese, just good strat. A cheese is jumping over the bridge or pulling the Ethernet cable on Crota. You're not manipulating the game or changing a mechanic.

2 OdpowiedziI agree slightly. I beat the hard raid 3 times before this method was invented then on my next raid it was a requirement that I know it but luckily the guys were willing to explain it to me. We took a while to complete, maybe 3 hours, but we did it. The next raid I did with a few guys who I immediately thought they had no chance of completing oryx, only 1 had the emblem and they were dying stupidly the whole way through the raid. We get to oryx and had 4-5 tries at the no knight strategy when one of the guys suggested we just do it normally, I jumped immediately before anyone could say no and tried to persuade everyone and they all agreed. We start up the fight, I'm floating, killed all the ogres so fast and the Knights that the relic runner was just getting the brand. We dropped the vessel and still had time before oryx slammed, 4 ogre rounds later and we're oryx on our first try. Simple!!! Did the raid later and they wanted to do the no Knights strategy, 2 & 1/2 hours later and they gave up because it wasn't working. This strategy is so stupid and in no way is it easier than normal!!!
-
It's definitely not a cheese lol...
-
Is not a cheese dude is a strategy. It takes time and perfection to complete and even several wipes. Raids' should have multiple ways of beating them not just one way. Get that Punk. Remember Raids' should have multiple ways of beating them not just one.
-
Its a bit naive and arrogant that some people think the "legit" way is the one way Bungie meant for the HM Oryx fight to be played. How do you or anybody else know that they didnt want us to come up with a different strat rather than the same with killing knights? Lol seems boring.

There's no cheese
-
1 OdpowiedźI don't see how it's a cheese. Pushing Templar- Chesse Bridge CP on Crota- Cheese No Knight Strat- Just a strategy
-
Thats like saying doing the one orb strat on golgor is a cheese
-
Hey look another tryhard that thinks he's SOOO important. If a strategy irritates you so much then go to legacy strikes!
