No Knight Strat - Oryx HM Issue
People are going to hate me for bringing this up, and I doubt that Bungie doesn't know. I'm already sick of this cheese for the Oryx fight existing. I was one of the very few people that refused to cheese the Crota Raid back in Dark Below. I felt it took away from the games essence and was obviously an exploit that was ruining my gaming experience. Today I was attempting to get a spot in an Oryx CP, as my previous raid group would not even attempt the Oryx fight without using what they called the 'No Knight Strat'. So I looked into this strat on YouTube and its an obvious cheese method, for a very straightforward fight. I have no idea if there are more people out there that agree with this, but having people tell me that I must be a certain light level to join their raid is one thing, but to tell me that I have to cheese it is Dark Below all over again, and I will not have it. Just thought I would have a little rant, as this is really starting to tarnish my once again growing appreciation for this franchise.

If that's a cheese one bubble is a cheese on golgoroth I guess since there's 6 bubbles.. I guess not killing boomers on Crota is a cheese so the wizard doesn't come out... I guess having good DPS on Warpriest is a cheese coz you can kill him and not use the left pillar...hell I guess since there's not only 1 strategy to anything...everything is a cheese? I think the people that Wonna call a certain tactic a "cheese" are either butt hurt they cannot complete it that way, or just upset they didn't think of it to begin with. People do something on this game then pretend there are set rules. If you MUST kill the ogres the instant they come out.. Then I think bungie would have made us wipe if we didn't kill them.

Op you do realize outsmarting the game does not equate to a cheese The devs intended that if the ogres don't drop by a certain time they don't have an issue with Knights, itd be different if you had x player stand in x spot and used spawn physics to make it so killing ogres right away wouldn't cause Knights to spawn

1 OdpowiedźI think you should stop cheesing the fight. You keep getting that ridiculous damage buff from killing ogers and detonating "corrupted light." Guardians don't need to use corrupted light to kill bad guys. Just do it the way Bungie wants you to and shoot Oryx in his chest-hole until he's dead.

5 OdpowiedziNo knight strat is a tad bit more difficult. Why keep them alive? You have 4 guardians at a time DPSing one ogre and they drop like rocks, the persons who's ogre is dead has more than enough time to whip out their sniper and two shot said light knight. Keeping ogres alive poses a huge risk for your runner as 1.) Oryx will uses kings spite on the first plate and leave your runner in the red 2.)ogres can and will shoot up at them 3.) Ogres will be near the tomb ship with the vessel when it spawns and can finish off your already hurt runner All of this can be resolved simply by killing two enemies with relative ease

I hope they do. This is a cheese regardless of what anyone thinks. It 100% removes mechanics implemented for hard mode. So what if some low level Bungie employee says "cool". Its not a good strat at all. To many unnecessary risks and most folks can do the normal strat just fine. There is absolutely no reason anyone should be on the deathsingers platforms in the hard mode oryx fight, period, end of story.

Just so you're aware, and I'll state this other bit first. I don't prefer the no knight strat, just as ez imo to do it the method my team uses. However, since people still don't know about this. Bungie has come out and been vocal about this strat and confirmed that it is NOT a cheese. It's just a very smart strat. They won't be doing anything about it because they themselves don't consider it a cheese. So have a coke and a smile and just tell people who want to do it that way you don't like it.

The no knight strat is just as much as a cheese as going to the mid platform to kill Crota. It's jut a different strategy. Plus people will probably start running it normally once we are all high enough level for it
