EDIT: I am back after 7ish months, my original post is below this edit, and I commented below more of why I'm back.
I have played Destiny almost every single day since its release, logged 1,900 hours of gameplay here, got every single achievement, and obtained a Grimoire score of 4,595, but none of these will continue to progress because I'm leaving.
I want Bungie to know that a huge fan of theirs is walking away, and won't be returning; here's why:
1) Bungie's treatment of their fans is horrible in too many ways from business practices, to releasing bugged content consistently, and even how they (poorly) manage these forums.
2) The community here is the worst I've seen with negativity towards each other, and there's no reason to treat another human being with genuine rudeness for next to no reason.
3) This game was designed to only reward those who play almost endlessly, and this addictive cycling reset was very bad for my life, so I'm getting rid of it before something happens in my life that I'll regret (other than the wasted 1,900 hours).
This was a good game gone very very bad, and I no longer wish to support Bungie or Activision in their current state. There are so many other games that get it right, and that's where I'll be spending my money and time from now on; either there, or on things in real life like camping, backpacking, and disc golfing.
For the community still left reading, please be nice to people here while I'm gone, it's what I've always tried hard to do, and I've equipped some of the weapons, armor, shaders, and emblems that I have left on my characters that I enjoyed using, so they are always are there looking their best!
Good luck to you all Guardians, and may mine rest in peace!

I feel you man. Before destiny I played disc golf every day. Now I haven't played since ttk came out. Trading disc golf and long time friends for a stupid ass game that does nothing but piss me off with the broken rng rewards. Destiny is a life ruiner. I salute you my friend and hope to follow in your footsteps sooner than later. No destiny reward will ever feel better than a disc golf ace. Disc golf>destiny

I get it. Grinding to get gear and weapons that are made obsolete is annoying. I hate it when companies build in obsolescence to their products. Video game companies, computer companies, car companies, TV companies, appliance companies...notice anything?

Well I'm glad you understand that you need to leave, it's always good to know that you need time off from something, rather than keep doing it excessively. Farewell guardian.

See you back on Destiny 2.

DAMN, this community is a cesspool.. It is indeed obvious as hell, activision did indeed market the demography with less than an IQ of 70 in the population. It is ok to quit playing destiny OP.. their has been allot of things in the real world that has happened since you started playing. Not to mention their are allot of other games out there to play also.. As far as the idiots piling on this guy, your still idiots.. I know for a fact you have no idea what I mean either... Take care OP.. This forum, many moons ago was not always like this... Destiny, is indeed slumming...

It's good that you are moving on to better activities. It seems like you were playing too much. What I don't understand is why people leave posts that read like breakup letters. People are just going to treat you like poop when you make these posts! I think people are better off quitting quietly! The only thing that will teach corporations is low sales! So just stop buying their games then.

God damn man this game is over demanding due to rng making the grind a chore.. to get to a desired light level you need luck, no skill needed.. so fck this game and enjoy your life dude.

2 OdpowiedziOk bye no one gives a -blam!-. I'm so sick of the dramatic I quit posts.

Those three things you listed I feel are exactly opposite in actuality. While I can appreciate that you have an opinion, it seems to me that you need to feel special. Bye

1 OdpowiedźSo long, farewell, adieu, bon voyage, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

11 OdpowiedziNobody cares that you are leaving. It sounds like you have a personal problem in that you are addicted to video games. The rest of us will continue having fun and you can continue crying.

42 Odpowiedzi*Deej looks at post Deej: "Oh no..." *Deej runs out of his house, gets in his car to get to the office. It breaks down. So he goes on foot. He crosses the deserts, climbs mountains, sail the deadly seas. He must get this information to Harold Ryan, the president of Bungie. Finally, Deej reaches his destination. He is exhausted. Deej is drenched in sweat and hardly able to breath. He could fall over dead any minute. Deej: "Mr. Ryan sir...XanderOfficial is quitting." Ryan: "Who?" Deej: "XanderOfficial, sir..." Ryan: "My god...bring me the button." *Deej breaks open a glass box on the wall labeled Use in case of emergency. He pulls out a button from the scattered remains and hands it to Ryan. Ryan pushes the button Confetti pops everywhere and a banner drops that reads No One Cares in bright bold letters. A faint "Yea" can be heard in the background. Ryan: "Money well spent." *Looks over to Deej Ryan: "Now get back to work and remember to tell me every time someone quits. I just love using this button."
