We have paid $140 for what was originally intended to be $60.
It was Bungie's, not Activision's, idea to throw micro-transactions at the player.
It seems about half of The Taken King was actually cut for that $40 price tag too.
Isn't it time people stop supporting this game?
For those who deem to read things at face value I'll point out what the article says in a non-politically correct fashion.
The article reads of a power hungry, self-serving Jason Jones who insisted that a completed game be converted into an "open world" game that was "non-linear" (the exact opposite of what Bungie's known for) because those were the big buzz words floating around circa 2013 that all the huge games were using.
Those Bungie employees who didn't like his attitude quit or got fired (Staten, O'Donnell, and half the Halo team) right when the story changed.
Jones then said "Well, we have a cool looking room here and a good boss fight here so let's find a way to connect it to this area here and call it a mission."
They then recycled all the existing assets and threw out a game in the span of a year that was rubbish, all while lying to the consumer.

And that's the wayyyyyyyy the news goes.
-
Not all just some, like the dreadnaught, and it wasn't cut to be sold later, it was cut because they revamped the story
-
Everyone blamed dinklebot for being so bad but it was probably because his lines were cut and smashed together. He had different tones in sentences side by side.

You clearly didn't read the article where it said "they wanted to include more content but the development tools are so hard to work with it keeps getting pushed back" it even says they're outsourcing to another studio so the content can be done for Destiny 2. The comet expansion was originally going to have more content and cost more. So you paid less for less? How is that a problem? There's a big difference between intentional manipulation and development issues. And if you're entitled self can't deal with that go make your own video game. I can't think of a game that doesn't have content that was cut that they intended to put in but it didn't pan out. And many times that content ends up being dlc because being a gamer doesn't mean you're entitled to everything you think you deserve. Now as for how destiny was massively changed in design and the results were a weak story but really perfected gameplay that's up for you to form an opinion on. I always felt the story in destiny was weak but I was fine with it. My main issue was the uncreative mission design. Also Marty was the only one who was fired. Joseph and his writers left willingly.

Moron. Absolutely fu cking stoopid

I think calling the DLC cut from the original game is a little disingenuous. Saying it was cut implies it was ready, or could have been ready, at launch. But it wasn't. And that's not in defense of the game. It was a shoddy release and many of the choices this game made were pretty awful. But they didn't simply cut stuff from the launch to sell to you later.
-
It would only be stealing if Bungie was taking something from you that you already possessed. Everyone is overly offended
-
It really took you this long to figure out...
-
Yes, because we know Kotaku is always right.
-
Kotaku is known for writing articles based on speculstion, not fact. Just because things that we have bought as DLC were in development, maybe even finished, it does not mean they were cut from the game.
-
6 OdpowiedziThe funny thing is, they didn't confirm anything. LOL If his fits your agenda though, you might want to read the entire article which says some Bungie employees thought the original game story was terrible.
-
Destiny has been out for a little over a year. We all know this. The people that are still here enjoy the game. They want to be here. Please, stop with these types of posts. It's redundant.
-
4 OdpowiedziKotaku, as per usual, didn't confirm anything. They used shadowy anonymous sources with no credibility to spout the same stupid tin foil hat BS that's been circulating for a year. This article is nothing but clickbait at best. I swear, three years from now Destiny 3 will release and these people will still be screaming "this was all cut content! I should have been able to play all of this at launch for $60!" Morons.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Ace Rimmer: 10/23/2015 1:47:06 PMIt sounds like the og plan was better. A mars raid and social space (thats where our cabal raid went). Charlemagne. Osiris which means the lighthouse is definitely cut content. Actual cutscenes and a story. Any story was better than no story. Im sure they could have fixed it in a year rather than just cut and paste the remnants together. Making a hashtag of a job.

Bump. It's pretty pathetic. I'll be doing the hard mode oryx then moving on to either halo 5 or fallout 4.... Or both... Before my uni exams in 2 weeks!!! Ahh 1st world problems.
-
Kotaku and confirmed should never be in the same sentence.
-
From the sounds of it. Vanilla destiny was crap. I would have shot myself if i had to watch a 5 min clip after every mission
-
We knew this as soon as we got the "full" game, after the beta ended.
-
What was the 17gb update right before TTK then?
-
1 Odpowiedź"Omg they cut content from destiny? I didnt know that" its not like nobody figured that out a year ago
-
If they would've dropped everything at once we would've gotten bored right away. Yeah they would come up with new dlcs but we would already be tired of everything there is in the game and everyone would still complain. Everyone makes such a big deal about them cutting content from their dlcs and games.

If you were actually a mature adult, who has a stable job and makes a good amount amount of money, you wouldn't come on a video game forum crying about it like a 12 year old.

1 OdpowiedźTTK is the last thing im paying for thats developed by Bungie. NEVER AGAIN!

Why do I care about this?
