Today I finished the Kings Fall raid. Tbh I was so pumped to finally do it. I hadn't had much time to do it, but today.
When I first joined the group I found on the forums everybody was pissed that when they asked for 300+ I answered in a humble way saying "would you mind having a 295?"
In response, they where mostly like: "oh great, another person to carry and drag through this."
They asked me if I had any experience in the raid, I simply said "I have not the slightest idea what to do, but I can hold my own." Again, all the players got so frustrated and pissed that I didn't know anything, yet they had no idea what I was capable of as a guardian. So eventually they started the raid with me. I play the raid almost flawlessly I died only a mere 2 times! And that was when I was the last guardian standing!
More of them had trouble with the jump puzzle than I did. i mean seriously?
But no matter what, I wouldn't say "haha in light 295 and I'm better at this than you!"
Never ever once did I say anything of the sort. I just simply stayed quiet.
We fight hard until we reach the war priest. Although this isn't too far into the raid, we still manage to get stuck here. I eventually found myself leading the team. I made the callouts of the orders of pillars and everything. They all listened to me. The original party leader was extremely upset that a 295 light level Titan that he almost wished to kick out of the group, was now taking over his 304 hunter.
So we continue to fight the war priest and the team has no luck. I admit, I was no better at this either. But it seemed that people where turning against each other. People where blaming other people and I lost control of the leadership role.
Eventually the original fireteam leader spits out in the middle of the chaos "this is what we get for letting a 295 into our team"
After that sentence, there was a long pause. Nobody really spoke, because everyone truly believed that I was actually the one who they didn't have to worry about, it was him.
After about 2 more tries on the war priest, the fireteam leader finally yells "THATS IT GET THIS NOOB OUT OF HERE!!" quickly after, I here "NO NO" and "DUDE WTF" or "Wow man really cool". Then I am removed from the fireteam.
I was never invited back and I was left out with nobody to do the raid with.
Later, I get a message from the leader saying "you suck dude, kill oryx and send a clip to me when you beat it in 2 months -blam!-"
I simply reply "make that 2 hours"
He lashed back saying "yeah right kid in your dreams"
So I look on the forums and I find a full team full of people with light levels lower than 298.
This was my golden opportunity. I had to prove it to this guy that I was not holding the team back at all from my light level or skill.
Luckily we had a member that had an Oryx checkpoint. I didn't want to skip the sisters or Golgeroth (I think that's his name?)
But we did it anyway.
4/6 of us had no idea what to do. The nice leader simply explains what to do and with a lot of hard work....
1 hr and 31 minutes.
He's dead. My first Kings fall raid completion.
Right after I got the rewards, I told my group of new friends what I was there for. They all stood by for a group clip.
I inspected them all to show they had less than 298 light and sent the clip to him with my guardian Slowly clapping while Oryx's Dead and frozen body floated towards Saturns Atmosphere.
He later replied
Lol wow your a -blam!-ing idiot, that's -blam!-ing fake.
It's good to win.
Edit #1 Anyone know how to get the link of the Video from the smart glass app on iOS?
Edit #2 For the people saying I died more than just 2 times. By technicality this is true. They were team wipes that we all volunteered in. I myself died 2 times from the fact that nobody wanted to die but they did. So we wiped not wanting to wipe. So basically I died not on purpose 2 times
Edit #3
I Think I understand why you guys maybe are saying "Liar! He tried with the same fireteam 3 times!"
Well I guess that's true because we had to head into orbit 2 times because of lag. So that's the issue
Edit #4
1500+ replies!!! Thanks for the support! Stick it to the big guys eh?

1 Odpowiedźnice story. hate a$$holes that think they're too good to help someone that hasn't done it (in your and my cases, the leader has nothing to worry about and still acts like an asshat). hell. I'm 35. been playing games since 1983, even putting in the commands on commodore64 to initiate programs at 4. brown belt in tae kwon do, agile as -blam!-letons both off and on the screen, first person shooters are second nature to me and I am a responsible fireteam member..... get frowned upon immediately now... I understand where they're coming from because I don't trust people either. but jeeZ people, give others a chance. you might meet a new friend and a possible fireteam member you respect. fu€k....

Scrubs will be scrubs what can you do about it your simply the mlg player here not that asshole. nice man don't let d#cks like them let you down your the mvp and nobody can change that :)

This is truly what it means...to become legend. Forge yourself to stand among the rest. "Light Level is just an illusion." (Sao Reference) What you do with your skill and determination is what truly matters. I would love to add you. Xbox One? GT: Sencatsu You are welcomed to play with me anytime my fellow Guardian! My story is about the same. It's the story about a Guardian, who spoke no words but gave big actions. (I an mic-less at the moment) . But that's a story for another day. Today we embrace your efforts! Bump!
-
People who blame a lower level for their own stupidity clearly aren't meant to raid. I've ran 285 who do beater than someone who's like a 305. It really grinds my gears people like that group

Edytowany przez użytkownika Miller0217: 10/22/2015 4:11:10 AMAnyone who asks for 300+ light on the raid is just looking to get carried. Having a dedicated group to play with is honestly the best thing that you can have in this game. Keeps the friendless lfg elitists out. Btw great job on beating Oryx, you earned it!
-
Man, these LFG groups are harsh -- find a good crew and stay together. Mine is now blinding raids and cruising Oryx in about 60 mins... No arrogance needed in raid crews.
-
-
2 OdpowiedziI don't see why people demand that you be over 300 light. 295 is probably the max that you need to be for oryx. Obviously it makes it easier the higher light you are but it's really unnecessary to be that high
-
3 OdpowiedziNice what console are you on
-
I know it's shocking but I actually beat the raid twice today with 290-300 characters. Saw a moron looking for NF group asking for 300+ toons. Ridiculous.
-
I would bump but.... Fake story is fake- attention whore...
-
2 OdpowiedziOk and we should care why? I'm not even trying to be a dick but big deal you got kicked

Quoting ScarecrowES for knowledge… "Tired of people falling for the fake story... reposting this... You first played the raid 17 days ago with one group. You didnt make much progress, used very poor weapons (and the wrong kinds), and posted poor stats for that portion of the raid. The 300-plus level hunter in your group had vastly better contribution to your group than you did. Your gaming history records prove all this. You didnt raid again until a day ago, 16 days later... not within 2 weeks let alone 2 hours, and you played 3 different sessions with much of the same player makeup on Oryx only. Each attempt took roughly half an hour or more. As reference, most decent pickup raid groups with appropriate light level and gear can finish the entire raid in under 45 minutes. You spent more than double that on one fight which is considered to be one of the less challenging ones. Again, you used a suboptimal choice of weapons in each attempt. As most of the bosses in Kings Fall depend on maximizing DPS inside the small damage window, your choice of weapons severely hurt your team in each of your 4 sessions. Your light level had nothing to do with it. Your bad weapons and poor stats did. This forced your team to have to carry you, and i suspect in the Oryx sessions especially. Not a lot of pickup groups can carry that weight through a raid. You may have been kicked from your first attempt more than 2 weeks ago... no way to know... but it might very well have been justified based on what I see in your history. You didnt jump back in with another group and immediately beat the raid. More than two weeks later you struggled even harder for a very long time on a single boss, where some players clearly got frustrated with your group and left. You still have not officially completed the raid, as you have not completed all sections. How you have represented yourself here is a fabrication. You did not have the weapons or gear of appropriate types and levels, nor did you study up on the mechanics of the raid. You were greatly unprepared to be an equal partner in the raid, and your game history shows you very much weren't. Regardless of how you want to spin your experience, you were a drag on your teams. Maybe the guy who kicked you, if he even did, was a total jerk about it... that happens in Destiny... but to paint this as unwarranted or mean-spirited is unfair and misleading. I'm not trying to be mean here. But you're lying about your experiences to garner sympathy or respect from the community, meanwhile slandering other people who are not present to tell their side of the story. Moreover, the records of your raid experience tell a very different tale than what your saying happened, and that shows your version of events is straight made up. I cant abide watching someone lie about someone else and get kudos for it."
-
Good job dude. That guys an ass.
-
Good man.

Edytowany przez użytkownika EvilzAdversary: 10/22/2015 12:53:23 AMMore than likely the dude was use to being carried by higher levels and since he had some good drops on those carries, he thinks he's big shit. Anyone looking to run their mouth like that is more than likely not capable of team work. Raid level is 290 bro, get over yourself.
-
I salute you sir. You stand for all guardians who do not meet an elitist's requirements. In my book, you are a legend.
-
I love the fact that the guy who kicked you was such a douche before and after the fact
-
Oryx is not hard. Congrats on your win. I personally don't have a problem with someone who doesn't know how to kill oryx as long as he googles/youtube's the video of each part, or listens to instructions well. The player must have a good positive additive, and most of all be flexible.
-
Those are the kind of people that make this game community bad. I say congrats to you man.
-
1 OdpowiedźBump dude. I applaud your effort towards showing that light level, ain't every thing. And I apologize on behalf of my fellow guardians on your team, who knew what the F U C K was up, but didn't say anything in your defense. I hope they got crud gear >p
-
Those people are the reason why i do my best to stick with my friends for this stuff. I dont have time for peoole to be blaming other in a raid. I had a light 285 in thw raid a couple days ago and he did just fine with TLW as his primary because it was all he had. He also didnt know how to do the raid.
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Sherpa: 10/21/2015 11:54:51 PMI've taken a 288 through...the raid isn't hard and anyone 287+ is fine as long as they're a good listener People like him are morons.
-
Dude, congrats!
-
I hate when people take this so seriously you don't gotta be inhumane because someone doesn't know how to do a part of a raid like seriously
-
Good job. LFR is AIDS. We got to golgoroth with 290s within first week before reset. Just need capable raiders with good awareness and comms. Hope that shitty raid lead chokes on his cereal watching that clip and stops stealing oxygen from non-idiots.
