You know what the problem with TTK is? No one wants to help anyone
How are people suppose to get experience when no one wants to help people out? Its like job hunting... "we want people but you need experience which we are not gonna give you"
Year one was good... everyone was willing to help there fellow man out... now its just full of selfish people.
Edit: Since posting this i have discovered that not all people asshats... so im not labeling the whole destiny community... just the elitist that forgot that everyone started somewhere.
Thank you to those that helped me through the raid tonight and those that offered afterwards... now that i have a bit of experience i would be glad to offer help to those in need of it..

Edit Edit: yes i have looked at videos... no i didnt expect to be carried. Yes i know about lfg. Yes i have a raiding party already who are unfortunatley away atm.

The elitists were there in year one and will continue to be there through and through. They're just not talented enough to take someone with less experience through. Which to me shows how they're actually not elite.

There's a lot of d-bag players who want people on their team that are better than them because they aren't good themselves "I have a 290 light level but to be on my team you have to have 300" But every once in a while you'll get some good people who like to help I feel if there is good communication and you are at the recommended light level, or close to it, good teamwork will get you where you're trying to go.

Strongly disagree. I was doing the First Curse mission last weekend and struggling when some random guy I was playing against messaged me asking if he could help. He joined, helped me finish the bounty, then went on his way. #payitforward

While I have found a few gaudianas to help out I find myself agreeing with your post. While doing tier 3 in CoO, my buddy and I helped a group of 4 get theirs done. When it came for mine they stayed, however proceeded to take the sword on mini crota and run around like idiots. I thought maybe it was just a goof. The 2nd time we downed the sword bearer I went to get the sword and another one from the group did the same thing. I ended the event needless to say. Another such time I was doing heroic strikes got put down by an enemy the 2 I was with sat in front of me danced and continued to do their thing. OK fine, I can revive. Happen another time at the boss only this time they left afterwards. I don't understand where this sense eof entitlement has come from. Maybe bungies fault who knows, but it absolutely sucks. I have sherpa'd 3 guys through the raid so far and I'm not done. I am just trying to help others now as I was helped through. Hopefully we can right this ship

Have to say that spending time to find the right clan, will often save so much time that is wasted raiding with frustrating randoms. A good clan will help and guide. Some really good clan finders out there that match you very well indeed.

On the flip side of that, if I join a group of random people and you say that you have no idea what to do and you need it explained to you, I'm leaving. Helping people who are ready themselves to actively help out and be a part of a well-working team, if given the chance, is one thing. Expecting strangers to babysit you through something you've taken no time to prepare and be effective or helpful at, is selfish and childish.

3 OdpowiedziNot sure why so many people are against explaining some of the phases. Its mostly "Go with this dude and that dude and and shoot that thing until we scream to go back to that one spot" lol. Obviously there are a bunch of details that you can include and yes, watching the videos DO help ALOT, but as long as someone listens and can execute on the instructions given, the raids are full of fun. I have been part of a handfull of raids with people who had no idea what was through the next door, let alone the mechanics of how the phase worked. Part of our job as veterans, grown ups, A-Team members, or whatever you call yourselves is to aid those who cannot aid themselves. That's kind of the whole philosophy of what being a guardian stands for. The elitists and people who put strict restrictions on raid groups just havent reached that mindset yet and want to get through as fast as possible for some reason. Some groups (Like mine) enjoy taking our time. I spent five minutes trying to catch a moth in the golgorath maze once. best time ever. Pro tip for people without raid groups, try to find a fireteam of 3 that laugh alot and give eachother shit. great way to start your own raid party. brush off the haters and keep moving guardian.

Not completely true. Most of my nighttime group and I help anyone that needs it. The problem is that we use a first come first served policy.

Sadly I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having trouble finding a group. And I feel the same way. Year one was so fun, you didn't have to watch videos for hours. You would just find a group and learn as you went. I thought that was half the fun of the raid but now it seems like everyone wants experienced people and don't want to take the time to help others out. Really what's the fun in just trying to hurry through everything. I always thought it was fun taking groups of newbies through Crota's end just to help and have a little fun. I think someone needs to make a thread for the raid for inexperienced guardians.

Just depends who you stumble on I know what it feels like being a noob on a raid And I've watched videos and confused the crap out of me It's better to see it first hand than on vid If people can't take a couple of minutes to explain something well there's something wrong with that I have done it on vog but got frustrated after 3 days of not finishing it so I gave up But hey I helped and explained it to them many times They just didn't listen

I put my first antiquated rune in and everybody took off to orbit or just left all together. I waited around for another group, but they shoved me around away from the playing area. After that B.S, I just. So much for making friends.....I went to orbit.

8 OdpowiedziUmm could you help yourself to watching a 5 min YouTube video rather than wasting 5 other people's time. We have 3 characters to get loot from. It would be thoughtful of you to do that than expecting people to suddenly have outstanding teaching degrees and lesson plans.

Some people will help you. Some people won't. Some people will help sometimes and not feel like spending 3 hours in the raid at other times. It's nobody's responsibility to help people through the raid. Of course it's nice when people do, but it shouldn't be expected. Your feeling of entitlement makes you the only asshat in this story.

I got a group of people who were new to the raid and helped them through the entire thing, taught them everything. Because this one guy did the same for me and my team. he didn't even need because he had done it all all characters. But he helped us because someone did the same for him. he spent 7 hours helping us. and each one of us broke off and helped another teams and so on. See, That is how you become Legend. At least in my opinion.

1 OdpowiedźThreads like these every now and again are good. They help one develop a list of elitist pricks one would never want to group with under any circumstance. Always impressive (and sad) to see the levels of elitism that can result from completing a minor accomplishment in a video game. Thank you, OP, and I hope you find a group to have fun with.

I have been fortunate throughout my time with destiny to get help when new raids came. Before taken King I raided all the time and would help new guys constantly. Once I get taken King down better I will do the same. Haven't been able to play as much lately but j enjoy helping people raid as long as they are chill and will listen

5 OdpowiedziIt takes longer to find people but u will find people. First of all don't expect a fireteam of elites to take you in, if ur new to the raid then expect other noobs too. There are still plenty of people who haven't done the raid
