Why would you not use both?
And by the way, it's called a MAGAZINE not a clip. Get it right.
English
-
A clip is what holds the rounds to load a magazine. They usually have 5-10 rounds "clipped" to them. The uninformed media and entertainment industry popularized the term clip. Now that more and more movies/ tv shows are using military and law enforcement advisors, the proper term of magazine is being used. A clip and a magazine are two completely different things. Sincerely, A disabled veteran and fed law enforcement officer

Ever hear of a Banana Clip? Both terms are used. There is no need to shout, so calm yourself Guardian.
-
Banana clip is a slang term for one magazine on one gun. The correct term is magazine. Go to anyone and call it a clip and they will laugh in your face or just not respond because you so stupid.
-
You are very misguided. People use "clip" all the time. They also use the abbreviation "mag". Several people I shoot with use the term clip and nobody jumps down their throat. Also, if you are talking about an AK platform, it's Banana Clip. Banana magazine or banana mag sounds wrong to say.
-
Go into a gun store and ask for clips for your handgun, get laughed out of the store.
-
1: I have done that and nothing happened. 2: This is obviously based on weapons other than sidearms.
-
-
Because you follow me around and know my whole life right? Man you're really trying here aren't ya.
-
Exactly one gun, one example. Anyone who actually is a gun person uses the term magazine, because that's what it is and clip is not a correct term for anything but an ak
-
Except all the RP variants that are machine guns, RPK, RPM, etc. Also if you want to get technical, majority of bullpup weapons, Famas, AUG, Mtar, just to name a few, also use banana clips instead of straight mags because it's easier to remove and insert during the reload process. Again, your logic is flawed and using either term is excepted. Anyone who snobs someone for saying "clip" has no purpose being around firearms because they are not mature enough to handle one.
-
Mtars can use normal mags along with many other bullpup guns. Any good gun enthusiast or shop owner or competitive shooter or anyone that cares about guns will laugh at you calling it a clip.
-
"Can use" is the clear phrase here. Look at the majority of profiles though, they are all banana clip designed. Even video games base their models on the banana clip design because it's more widely used than straight mags. Nice try though.
-
Banana clip is still not the actual term for a magazine that goes into an ak. Nice try though.
-
You said that it's unacceptable to say clip. I'm saying there are tons of people out there who use it everyday and gave you examples. You yourself acknowledged that it is a term widely used for the AK platform along with other weapons. True it may not be the "technical" term, however people are not being laughed at or chastised for it. So not only have I proven my point, but I also got you to admit that it is an accepted term. So again, nice try.
-
I said some people use the term banana clip, I never once said the term clip for anything is "widely used" don't put words in my mouth bud. People are getting laughed at for using the term clip by anyone who knows things about guns and actually cares. It's okay, keep using the wrong term and being made fun of.
-
Technically, clip is incorrect for an AK magazine as well. Banana Clip is also wrong. But that's a technicality.
-
Not a technicality. A clip and a magazine are two very different things. Clips are used to load magazines. Magazines are used to load the weapon itself.
