Our primary way of getting gear is now meant to be drops.
I am currently rank four Iron Banner. I have had two drops. One sidearm and one class item. Being rank four, I can buy three items. So surely my primary way of getting gear would be purchasing? I can't really see how this new system is working. In previous Iron Banner events I have many times received more than three items by rank 4.
Is is just me? Is RNGesus not loving me, or is this the case for others? I don't think others are doing so well either as I think I've only seen ~10 drops total.
Your thoughts/experiences please.
Edit: I don't want to be one of those "ZOMG all these replies" guys. I just want to thank all that have replied for reaffirming my original thoughts. I tried to reply to all but it's now 2am and I've got to get some sleep. Also, thanks for all of the positive replies, can't recall seeing any trolls. Community ftw.

1 OdpowiedźI'm rank 5 and haven't had a single drop yet. Get a job
-
Dude you did great: I'm level 5 yesterday and had to buy everything.. Zero drops, this iron banner has been the thing that finally pushed me away from destiny , just too much time for anything good/ light progression: value my time Too much for real life
-
The drops have increased. But the problem is that gamers have the wrong expectations. They think that they will get most or all of the IB gear that is for purchase. That isn't going to happen. You still have to buy most of it. Also, continue playing beyond Rank 5. This does NOT apply to the elitists who reached Rank 5 on Tuesday and then wondered on Wednesday why there are no drops. The drops are scheduled, not RNG. Another tip: STOP playing IB for a while and do something else in the game!!! The drops increase after you return. If you keep playing IB hour after hour, day after day, then your drop rate will be lower than someone who balances their time with other activities in the game.

Have two characters at rank 5, had two drops.
-
I've rank 5ed 2 of my characters and I'm on rank 4 of the third, not a single drop from IB except one legendary boots engram.
-
I hit Rank 5 and in all that time I had two drops........the IB Pulse and the Cloak...... Increased drop rates my ass........
-
Got the cloak, a set of boots and the ship. The drop was a lot lower than Bungie said. Either it was intentional, in which case; dafuq Bungie? Or it was a bug, in which case; oh well, hopefully it's fixed for next time.
-
I would call this Iron Failure. The drops don't exist I have hit rank 5 on all 3 characters and for my efforts I have gotten 1x sidearm... thats it just a single sidearm. Claiming that they want us to get our loot through playing was a flat out lie in this instance.

-
Dude you had 2 drops. That's basically a miracle, IB drop wise. I'm rank 5 and have had 0 drops.
-
1 OdpowiedźGot a bond, 2 boots and nothing else and I'm almost at rank 5. I had to buy a new bad juju because I cannot use these other guns because the perks suck. They need to make iron banner weapons cheaper......... I can only earn 30 marks a day, not including legendary drops. I spent 150 on bad juju leaving me with none. I will just barely scrape by buying the pulse from saladbar. There was no need to make it 75 marks, glimmer was fine. Motes of light would make more sense.

Rank 5 zero drops. Had to buy the damned Titan mark and will have to purchase any weapon I'd like.

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Jibunnokage: 10/18/2015 6:09:57 AMEvery drop was blue junk, well below my 296-298 light level. I got 2, and only 2 legendary items... both were warlock bonds. I never got a weapon, I never got armor of any note, just blue junk. The only thing I got from IB this time was... about 100 weapon parts total... this is what IB is now worth? Rank 5? I get better loot from 3 heroic strikes, than did the entire IB run to rank 5! Now of course we all know what Bungie is doing, they are consistently and strategically slowing down progression. Every single change they have made since day 1, year 1, buffing rarely and nerfing often, is to increase the grind... when Bungie eliminated selling of materials... everyone should have realized the real goal. Nerfing auto-rifles why? Because they allowed faster progression! Fact. I can't wait for Fallout 4, with true open world scope and depth for PvE to see if it will kill off Bungie hopes for Destiny 3.0, hell Fallout 3 had deeper and larger open world scope than Destiny every has... Not mention, that Halo 5 Warzone is going to seriously impact Destiny PvP. If you have not checked out Warframe? Do so! It is free to play and out of the box, it has comparable depth to what Destiny only now has with TTK. Bungie, it is so obvious you are losing ground... the fact that you have not been bragging about TTK sales, screams the point, that as good as TTK sales may have been, someone at Activision predicted even higher numbers... the creation of micro-transactions is a sad, indicator as well, but never mind, I am sure my observations will be discounted, ignored, likely even criticized countless ways. But before I am nominated for Ninja Justice... consider this... I have about 60 friends that consistently play any games on XBox Live, most 360, but growing shift to XBox One. Of these about 30 were major players of Destiny, now, there is about 5, plus myself, and only about 10 of the original 30 purchased TTK. These facts, qualify as a significant loss of long term customers, is just barely the typical 20% retention rate of 6/30, that most free-to-play games attempt to milk over time, and many free to play games have percentages much lower, some only retain about 2% consistent additional purchase rates. Don't believe me? Go back and research Blizzard numbers, the facts are there, the significant decline of MMOs and migration to free to play, follows this market trend. The key population is older players with significant disposable income... is that true of Destiny, now? I think not. Now, if my experience is representative of the total Destiny active population? The drop off rate for Destiny is seriously dangerous to its future financial longevity. Again, the micro-transactions release, suggests this scenario is real, even if the specific percentages vary, as well noted above. It is a shame really, Destiny has significant potential, the social aspects still survive to an extent in raid teams, but as with IB being a significant disappointment, I could not get more than 2 or 3 friends of my 60, no my 30, core population to join for IB. It has never been harder to get raid teams together, especially given my friends list... many of the 30, did past raids 10s of times, a few over a 100 times. I have never found LFG methods that great. LFG methods are failing to provide consistent results, based on the feedback I have gotten from my friends... this is clear by the comments my friends have made... Sorry dude, I am playing Warframe, World of Tanks, etc., etc... I don't see any point to playing Destiny anymore, sorry. Moved on... looking forward to Fallout 4, Halo 5 online, etc. Now Bungie, what is your answer to that? I really want to know. Was TTK not your most significant chance to bring players back to the game? Or will the fewer remaining players have to buy endless silver to just get any where above 300 light? I can't see that as realistic, at least the RNG model, does once in a while, actually give some players some reasonable loot? Or will micro-transaction greed result in raid RNG nerfing soon as well?

They advertised the titan helmet. Nothing except Mark and sidearm and boots.
-
Rank 5 and got one drop being the class item
-
I'm rank 5 on my warlock and ran3 on boyh my hunter and Titan. I got a sidearm and two ships. I was happy to get the ships ( one is from last year and the other is the new taken king IB ship). I bought the other stuff. I got way more drops in my year one iron banner games.
-
My Titan is level 5, did level 3 on warlock. I got nothing between the two of them, just last year's ship. I have seen only the boots drop for someone once in my whole week of playing. There is absolutely no point in playing IB anymore. I ended up buying the mark, the boots and pulse rifle and now they need to be infused. I can't infuse the gun because I'm out of weapon parts and I don't have another primary higher that I don't use. I'm not going to grind this again. I'm starting to see what was the -blam!-ed up idea behind the marks and infusion.
-
The good items will be in trials
-
Rank 4, I did have the new IB sidearm drop. Other than that it's been two or three blue engrams. One did become a 295, so I might be able to infuse it into some gear. Assorted motes and coins. Surely not the primary way to get gear from lord salad dressing Bungie either lied or is incompetent
-
Boots X1, sidearm X3, Crucible ship X1, games played >30 AFTER level 5! Gear 295 or higher = 3! Having a blast = yes. Expecting to get anything from drops = NO! Is this an improvement in Iron Banner which will attract new players? Absolutely the opposite IMO!
-
I'm rank 5 and I'll I've received so far was last years ship... After a while I gave up and just bought the damn pulse rifle with legendary marks.
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Tibbaryllis2: 10/18/2015 11:34:21 PMRank 5. I've gotten zero drops. I've seen the boots drop 3 times. I've seen two class items drop. I've seen three ships drop. So I'm guessing I've seen 8 drops out of somewhere in the neighborhood of 35-45 games. Or 210-270 potential drops (# of games x 6 people).
-
I'm only going for rank 5 for the shaders/emblem/class item. Will try for the pulse riffle, but don't honestly care....it's kind of disappointing the way they have it set up.
-
Rank 5, 1 sidearm, old ship, and 4 cloaks. Wouldn't be so irritated but 3 of those cloaks are the only thing I've gotten after reaching rank 5!
-
Rank 5 on my warlock, no drops at all.. many wins and many games. 1st game on my titan i get the class item. Other then that... nothing.
