Seriously - What's the point of playing Iron Banner and Trials now?
I'm not sure I understand Bungie's rewards for the PVP activities that take light into account. You probably want to be at least 290 light to be competitive in Iron Banner, and most likely Trials as well, but if you do well your rewards are all 280 from vendor, and still probably below where you already are if playing it in the first place. What's the point in that? You're literally going backwards in light level if you want to use the rewards that require a high light level to attain. Seems like a weird Catch-22 to me.

When you buy something from a VENDOR it is 280. When you get something as a DROP, it has a chance to be more than 280. This applies to IB as well as the Vanguard and factions as well. For example, the new hunter cloak is 280 if you buy it from Lord Saladin, the one I have on my hunter I got as a DROP and it is 292 without any infusion. It's literally the same system for rewards yet is everyone flipping out? Lol. Sounds like those complaining didn't give it much thought. Edit: For a non-IB example, I'll use hung jury. From the dead orbit vendor this weapon is 280 attack. If you get one from a dead orbit package, it could be higher than 280.

I have played over 50 IB matches, currently just past rank 3.5, and have yet to see ONE IB weapon drop... not even a legendary/exotic weapon has dropped.... only a couple pieces of gauntlets/leg armor/class items (less than 10). We were told that MORE IB weapons and gear would drop and that would be the source for such... that purchasing would not be needed, but available if wanted. The Lag in the matches, and in fact all Destiny play is horrible now...

while I do agree that IB gear should def be more in the 290-300 range (more like CoO), I would grind for a complete set even if it was still at 170 defense.

There is no point, massive mistake from bungie to drop ib gear that far below raid gear .... no point in doing it at all for me

2 OdpowiedziThe point he's trying to make is why would you require light 290 only to get 280 rewards. Infusion only adds a small carry over from a higher light level items. Seems like a waste of mats and currency.

I can understand ib not to give the highest light. They usually give highest light near the end of the dlc. But trials should simply give end game gear. 310 is what it should be because it is the raid counterpart for pvp. Or atleast have it be between 300-310. Especially now that flawless is harder to get.

But it's like i've said before Iron banner should be changed to a bare bones mode were everyone is forced to use certain weapons and gear so it's all based on skill.

Supposedly post-game rewards are supposed to be your primary source of gear acquisition but it would appear otherwise. I'm Rank 3 3/4 and I have only had one drop so far. Also, infusing the gear up and playing because it's fun are entirely valid points. I get what you mean though with having to infuse from 280 for gear you purchase. If Raid gear was 280, everyone would be complaining.

1 OdpowiedźIron banner shouldn't be a "charity 310". 310 should be earned through raiding and other end game things.
