IB and Trials are right around the corner. But...
There's still so many people relying on their year 1 crutches in PvP? Tell me how your FWL (or any shotgun with Shotpackage) or messenger are going to fair come tuesday? Don't get so upset when u can no longer get easy kills. Prepare yourself now.
Edit. It seems that some people think equipping a year one weapon and only dropping their light level to 290+ will still do max damage. I am 99% positive that is incorrect. That 170 weapon will still hit like a 170 weapon even if your light level is almost 300. But I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

The majority of you got my point. (Select few should probably move out of your grandma's basement) But I'm with the people that say a 170 attack weapon will do damage as such. It doesn't matter if all your other gear is 310 and your total light level is 300. Recommended light for NF is 290. I can be a 290 with a Gally equipped. But that bitch hits like a BB gun because it's attack value is 170.. u can't magically raise your year one values based off your total light level. If I get killed by a 170 weapon tomorrow then I'll apologize.

I used my hopscotch pilgrim for the week before I got bad juju and red death. If your hoping that people have spent too long using year 1 weapons, and that it'll give you an edge of some sort, not likely. It doesn't take long to adjust to a new weapon. Stop acting like you have some kind of higher ground.

1 OdpowiedźLight only affects your defense, how you take damage. Attack rating on your weapon affects your offense. A 310 attack weapon on a lower light level character will still do max damage. Therefore, a 170 light weapon on a max light level character? Your just shooting green beans across the dinner table in full clad armor.

For some reason a lot of people are saying that a Y1 weapon can do as much damage as a Y2 weapon for as long as the overall light level is the same... 1 OdpowiedźI'm gonna be using my hidden hand ambush 1000 yard stare and 310 red death with my GnH vertigo. I may switch to hawkmoon and the nightfall reward shotgun if I need to but I hope not.

If people want to use all their old stuff, fair enough. As long as all of the old stuff is worthless in Trials, I don't care what they do in regular Crucible.

2 OdpowiedziFortunately I already maxed everything I need so that I am at my max light level, but I'll be doing the raids to try and increase that. So far I've got 310 Hung Jury, 310 Next big thing, 310 1000 yard stare, 310 Jade rabbit, then 307 MG and 304 Rocket. Could really do with a 310 MG or infusing my sleeper simulant. I also really need an exotic 310 head piece, as it'll bump me to 308.9 or 309.

I do get irritated when I die by a felwinters or messenger, but when the new IB gear drops I think ppl will switch.

I've tested this. Equipped an auto rifle, tested on level 40 mobs. Equipped a vex tested on the same level of mobs. In conclusion: use the 280+ weapon.
